  4. In every case, there is one - and ONLY one - original decree of divorce. This is the document which declares the marriage dissolved, and is signed or stamped by the presiding judge. In some states, it will also be signed by the couple and their attorneys. You can't get this document. It is usually kept on file by the court clerk. What you can get is a photocopy of this original document, certified by the court clerk to be a genuine copy of the original document. The court clerk's certification usually consists of a stamp or seal and a signature. You don't need to send the certified copy. You can send a photocopy of this document that you make yourself.

In short, the document you send:

    1. Must declare the marriage terminated.

    2. Must be signed or stamped by the judge.

    3. Must be certified by a court clerk as a genuine copy.

    4. Must contain all pages of the document.

    5. May be a photocopy of the document described above. USCIS and/or the consulate may ask to see the original.

Either spouse can usually request a certified copy of the divorce decree by sending proof of identity and a small fee to the court clerk's office. The county court website will have contain instructions for requesting a copy.

thanks guys for all the info... appreciate it.. ^^

  5. my fiance filed for divorce to his ex, & a few months later he got a mail, & the letter says "dissolution of marriage: & that the divorce will be final on june 18, 2010 the letter was stamped/signed by the judge i think, after 4 days he received another mail saying that they are free to marry after june 18 & that their civil statis are now back to being single , that letter was signed/stamped by the judge. Now which of the two should he photocopy & include with our 1-129f?

and about g325A, if my answer to a category is N/A or none & i wrote it on the first box, can i leave the rest of the box in that category/question blank? or should i write N/A or none to the rest of the box in that question? thank you very much

  6. my fiance do not know his naturalization certificate number, what should he write on the box that says "give number of certificate, date & place it waas issued" and " if yes, give certificate number, date & place it was issued" or should he just leave it blank coz he already made a photocopy of his passport to prove his citizenship???

    tnx.....
