  1. I'm helping my friend's AOS(married to USC) and facing a problem. I need your help.

There is a question saying that "have you received public assistance in the United States from any source, including the US government or any State, county, city, or municipality(other than emergency medical treatment), or are you likely to receive public assistance in the future? Yes or N0.

Here is her story, she came to US back in 2004 and got pregnant without a plan. She went to public health clinic.(she didn't know that PHC is under state program because she had been here only few months and it says clinic so she thought clinic=regular hospital just like her country. They told her to fill out some form, they copied her passport and visa page and received a plastic card(She didn't have a SSN and still doesn't have it). Afterthat, they told her to go here and there, she got an abortion due to her health issue.

Today which is Mar.25(it's been 5+yrs) she went to that clinic asked the clerk what kind of prgram she had before. They said it was a Family PACT.

I'm filling out her form because she doesn't have an internet access. Do I need to mark on NO because it's not under public charge category?(She NEVER intend to get a program'cause there isn't this kind of program back there therefore, never thought about getting it and won't get it future, either.)

Is there anyone who had similar experiences or familiar to this matter?

Could you please give me any advice? :help:

I really want to help her. She is my BF and doesn't have enough money to work with a lawyer at this time.

Look forward to hear from you soon.

    Thanks.

  2. I'm preparing my AOS and helping my buddy's AOS as well because she doesn't have an internet excess.

My friend just married to USC and she has been overstayed since July of 2004. I just read from other thread saying that 8+yrs of overstayer might need a laywer. Is it true? Particulary for 8+yrs? Less than 8yrs will be safer than 8+yrs?

She doesn't have enough money to work with a lawyer so I hope I can give her good news.

Anyone went through like my friend or anying know about overstaying less than 8yrs? :help:

Please share your experiences or knowledge. Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  3. Unless you're filing an I-130 and I-485 concurrently, there is no G325a for the petitioner. If the petitioner ever had an A number or file number (same thing) then provide it if known or write unknown. If never had one, then "NONE".

"Status as Permanent Resident" is what is being adjusted to. If ever lived outside the US more than a year enter the last address. If never, indicate "N/A".

    Thanks for the reply.

    I'm going to send I-130, I-485, I-765, I-864,g-325a and I-693 so I need to send my hubby's g-325a as well.

According to your opinion, I understood 1,2,4(thanks a lot). I'm still confused q#3. My g-325a, of course, I need to mark status as permanent resident. What about my husband's g-325a? Which one he needs to mark among naturalization, status as permanent resident and other(specify)? He is USC therefore, I don't think he need to mark on naturalization. Does he need to mark status as permanent resident just like me or other? :help:

If anyone knows about this, please help me.

    Thank you.

  4. Hi,Vjers

I've started filling out all of the forms for AOS. I have few Qs.

    On the form g-325a(USC-petitioner),

    1. Does he need to put file number? ( My hubby is USC through naturalization. I saw A# on certificate of naturalization.)

    2. Applicant's last address outside of the US more than 1year? (He's been in the US more than 12yrs. Does he still need to put his home country address?)

    3. Which one he should mark? This form is submitted in connection with an application for: naturalization, status as permanent resident, other(specify)

    4. On the bottom in the bold box, does he need to put an alien registration number? Is a file # and alien registration # same one?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks a ton... :)

  5. 1. you are his wife, not his husband. your date of birth, your country of birth

    2. what city, state you currently reside in.

Use the example forms you can find on this website to help you further.. I know they helped me out a bunch!

    Thanks, laura and kyle.

I checked an example of form I-130 shows that husband's name even though he is the petitioner. That's why I was confused.

Thank you so much. That helps me a lot.

  6. wow~ what a smooth process!!

Congrats! I'm so happy for you.

I'm also on the same page as you married to USC and preparing my AOS.

My husband is the petitioner and I'm the beneficiary. (let's say his name is John, my name is Mary)

==On the form I-130, C. Information about your alien relaive(continued)

    17. List husband/wife and all children of your relative.

(Name) , (relationship) , (date of birth ) , (country of birth)

Mary , husband , hubby's birthday , write where he born

    Is this correct? (I'm confusing.)

==22.complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status.

    (city) , (state)

Should I put what city I live or nearest USCIS office where I reside? (I'm in US)

    Any advice highly appreciated.

Again, congrats for your smooth sailing~~~!!!
