Just checking in...hello everyone!

Update

I mailed in my AOS on Tuesday...they got it today (Friday @ 11am). Yesterday, I got a "Instruction Packet Agent" letter via email, which also has to be sent in with my husbands DS230 packet. I called NVC and asked them about the 31 or 32 Rochester address, they said the 31 is there new address and I should send mail to them there. The 32 is okay, they just fwd it next door. She said it was okay for my husband to mail in the DS230 pkt from Egypt, and we don't need to mail in any family pictures. I asked about attending the interview with him in Egypt, she said it is sometimes "suggested" that the petitioner attend, so I'm thinking its good that I will be with my husband this summer. I also received my husbands ITIN from the IRS, it took approximately 4 weeks. Hopefully our return will soon follow.

Vanessa1...I'm working on my AOS packet and finalizing my husbands IV application too. Both my payments should post tomorrow as well, I paid them last Friday.

Not sure exactly when my husband will be done with his papers and the the dreaded waiting for mail from Egypt. I'm also thinking of mailing in both packets together...or is it better to send off the AOS first?? I was thinking I should also mail in my work contract for School Year 2010-2011, which I will have beginning of May. Any suggestions?

Hot Guy brother many many congratulations to u and i hope this email is true and hope u will receive ur visa this month since it has been more than one year ur in AP i think they will want ur fresh medical and today is Monday call them again and ask them if the email is truthfully.

Only a person who have been in same situation can understand the problems and sorrows others are feeling in same situation and i have been in AP more than 7 months now and i understand how u feel about that ur a brave person that u had to go on with this long AP with fears in ur heart thinking what they gonna do why they not issueng visa why other people receiving visas before u even through their interview was after u , this is all i think and i am sure u also been thinking the same brother. due to all these tensions i had a heart attack last month and today i was gone to my doctor he said the tablets i am taking these days i have to take these tablets all my life and i am only 28 years.

I so much hope that u receive ur visa this month and i hope they dont ask u to send them fresh medical and once u will have visa u will forget about this AP

OMG wellmux, I'm so sorry to hear about your heart attack and having to take tablets for the rest of your life. Please take care of yourself, you also have your wife and your future family to live for. Eat right, exercise regularly and learn some relaxation techniques. I know prayers are very helful for relieving stress and letting Allah take care of your problems. Your right about no one understanding exactly how you feel, unless they've been through it themself...but you have to take care of yourself.

Wow...let me first say Congratulations! It sounds like things are finally going your way. I really can't imagine the hardship you and your wife had to go through. From you timeline your case started back in August 2008 and you've been in AP for a good year! From you email, I think you should wait for your DHL...and relax a bit. I can't imagine how or why they would postpone you for so long...but the worst is over with. You both showed them how much you love each other! Take care...and keep us updated on your good news to come, were all rooting for you!!

I just paid my IV bill...and paid my AOS bill earlier this morning. I hope we make it for a May interview too, this process is just too much work and its busting my piggy bank too. Hope my hunnie across the ocean mails me the papers soon, I got my part done.

Looks like your ontop of things and your husband is smart to update his ID if you were married in Egypt as they want the updated ID, this happened to my husband they told him he had to update before he could apply for his new passport. Dont forget his military completion or exempt letter whatever applies to him.

I don't want to be RFEed or APed...so I asked him to update his ID to married and to get an updated passport and to change the job on both of them. Yeah, we have his military paper too. Thanks for the feedback Sandra!

I finally paid my AOS fee, and resent the DS3020 (VJ format) via husbands' email. We got an auto response with this SECOND email. I think they only accepted the email AFTER they emailed us first. After my AOS payment, my receipt read the following:

If the current payment status is not PAID, sign in to this case again in 2-3 business days to check for an updated status. Once the Payment Status is PAID you must print out the Document Cover Sheet and attach it to the documents sent to NVC. You should then go to the NVC web page for further directions.

So happy things are moving along! Feeling so blessed and productive today

My update

I just got my AOS invoice via email today...been trying to log into the payment site. It says "An error occurred while attempting to access the site. Please click the refresh button on your browser. If you continue to receive this error message, please try again later." Maybe tomorrow.

On the other side of the ocean, my husband is working on his documents. Hopefully in a couple more days, he will be finished translating everything(birth certificate, police cert.), updating his passport and ID.

So far, so good...NVC has been good to me. In 7 weeks, I will be in Cairo, so waiting for the visa won't be a big deal.

It is a Terrific Thursday everyone! I got an email from NVC and will be able to pay my AOS soon (their website has some error). I'm getting tired from this excitement and from working all day. Anyway...ours dreams of being with our loved one will come in time....and happening for some sooner than others! Congrats....wish you the best! Take care everyone

My husband and I are in our 30's, I've served 7 years in the US army than went back to school for a 2nd degree and than when I was done I was ready to start my life and that just so happen to be in my 30's. I had online friends and families, never had an online relationship. My husband was a late bloomer, and he wanted love and that's all he wanted. He found that in me, but alot of people are not as fortunate as you and your SO, first time around. Some of us have to start over, so please don't think that he's started over a 1000 times just because say this. I am only telling the truth, I understand the online relationship he had with this individual she confirmed it with me that Kassim ended it because of his religion.

Really, I'm happy that you fought for what you wanted. I don't think bad of your husband. Also I understand how an attraction to Americans can happen, after all we are cool

Even attraction toward a particular race can happen...all of a sudden I found Middle Eastern men attractive, lol.

My husband never had a relationship, but I have had a couple. I know how your first love feels...and I'm honored to be the first for him. Relationships come and go, but marriages should be forever. Again, congrats for sticking up for yourself and standing by your husband. Islam really is a great religion, and that's one of the reasons I married. They learn to have a lot more respect for self and others than any typical person. Salam

WOW...this is news for me. Makes me think. I wonder how much information they pull up on us? LOL

I don't mind them snooping on my account or my husbands. In fact, I'm glad they do. If my husband had some other life or has tried to marry online to get out of his country...I'd be happy that the US Govt. deny them.

Muslim men have different standards to live by...such as not dating, and basically refraining from most women contact. My husband never had a gf or online gf. I was his first and his last. I'm glad for this.

Hello All...Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone is doing well. As for myself, I'm just looking forward to every day that comes and passes.

Especially looking forward to May 26th - Aug 2....the time I will be with my husband in Egypt. Getting all this NVC paperwork is a plus if its all completed by then. Then it would be awesome if he has his interview while I'm in Egypt...and it would be even more awesome, if he could come home WITH me! I'm dreaming, and dreams do come true.

The weather here was awful, blowing sand, cold windy days. I want to start jogging and walking outside to get into better shape before I leave for Egypt. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow...lol

Hello everyone...just wanted to let you all know that I got my NVC number today. Super exciting that I made it to level 2 of this process... . I got my AOS packet ready to fly. My husband should be done with his packet in a week and a half. The last mail he sent from Egypt was through EMS Eygpt Post>USPS Global Express it took 11 days total. Was wondering if anyone knew any service thats faster??

I got my case number today and I gave the NVC Operator our email addresses. I also emailed off the DS3032(VJ template) using both our email addresses.

I just got finished putting together my I-864 (Affidavit of Support). I included the following:

o Memo: Intent to return for School Year 2010-2011

o Pay stubs from the most recent six months 10/08/2009–03/25/2010

o 2009-20010 Salary Payment Schedule

• Bank Statements:

o Wells Fargo Free Checking 02/27/2010 - 03/26/2010

o Wells Fargo Goal Savings 01/01/2010 – 03/31/2010

o Federal Credit Union 03/01/2010 – 03/31/2010

If I understand you correctly. YES Your employment letter is just to show current employment. Dont use that amount. The income information will be what your last filed tax return would show (or transcript) line 21.

Just a note to clarify, line 21 is "Other income"...line 22 is "total income" on the 1040 2009 Income tax form.

Another thing to note, (this threw me off for a while) on the AOS #"24. My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on my Federal tax returns for the most recent tax years was:"...The 1040EZ form doesn't have a "total income". So if you didn't use the 1040EZ, you won't use the "adjusted gross income".

QUESTION CONCERNING AOS:

vivekjay (or anyone that can help) ...I have a question about your #4 from your post.

So would I use my 2009 "total income"(from my 1040)for "#21. My current individual annual income".

...and use years 2009,2008&2007 "total income" (from my 1040)for "#25. Federal Income Tax Information".

This would make #21 & 25(line 1) exactly the same for my 2009 "total income".

I wanted to double check because I'm a teacher, and my letter from employer will state my salary from the school year 2009-2010...which wouldn't be equal to #21...and I would be submitting my 1040 with w-2s for 2009, and transcripts for 08-07.

Not only is this a "Good Friday", I consider it a Great Friday. My NOA2 got approved yesterday and I feel ready to take on the NVC and get this out of the ways asap.

Does anyone know how long after NVCs approval, what the next steps will be. I know there is a medical and interview, but don't know exactly how and when they would happen. Could someone explain the next steps, thanks

What you should do now is wait about a week and call the NVC and give them yours and your SO email address so that way they can email everything to you! It's much quicker than snail mail!
