  2. :star: Hello Vjers! :star:

Were happy campers here in Luxor Egypt. My husbands visa arrived via DHL today at his family home. We didn't get to physically open it, but were certain its his passport with the the visa stamp. It took about 4 business days for the visa and they shipped it the same day of our interview. The US Embassy in Cairo is very on top of things, we had a very pleasant interview and things are working out for the best. Wish you all good luck!

  3. We were APPROVED this morning! Were so happy this day has finally come. The hardest part for us was staying awake because we were only got a little more thank 2 hours sleep. The CO only asked us about 5 questions or so. My birthday is in 2 days and this is the only thing I wanted :P

This website is such a great help, thank you webmaster and thank you Vjers!! We wish everyone the best of luck so that you and your loved ones are reunited. If you have any questions about Egypt or the process, I'd be glad to pay it forward.

    Sincerely,

    Leia (L) Mohammed

You are in our prayers... you will do fine.

  4. Tomorrow is our interview in Cairo and I will be by my husbands side. I really hope things go well and a special thanks (F) to Sarah, Sandra, Wendy and Jalan for helping me out with any questions I had throughout this process.

We are hoping for the best. My anxiety hasn't kicked in yet, but my husband is very anxious. Mind over matter, we just gotta be cool, calm and collective Also, just to relax and be ourself. We may be from different cultures, but we were passionately drawn together. I want to start a family and begin our lives together in my home country. We can only hope and pray for the support and blessings of the US Government.

    Sincerely,

    Leia (L) Mohammed

:star:We got our interview date on 07/15/2010 9:00AM Cairo :star:

  7. Hi Sandra, I'm sure your enjoying your time with Ahmed. Sounds like a disappointment not to hear them say congrats and welcome, but I'm sure you just have to wait 2weeks to 2 months more. I'm also sure this wait time for you will go by so quickly. Keep the positive attitude, it sounds like they will give it to you, probably because he was in the military they want to do a name check again. Everything has been done on your part and now you just got to wait for them to do their job. Relax and enjoy your vacation with Ahmed.

I called NVC just a while ago and they said they had just scheduled our interview date on July 15! Also we were thinking of taking a boat to Hurgada to check it out, maybe we could meet up? I will PM you our cell number. Take care Sweetie (F)

  8. :star: My Update :star:

I'm here in Egypt with my husband :luv: and finally got wifi internet connection though Etisalat. I called NVC AVR and they said that I had CASE CLOSED on May 28th!!! Which is awesome news...now were just gonna wait for the interview date. I've heard that Cairo is already assigning interview dates. Now we have to read up on the interview process and probable interview questions.

Good Luck to the rest of you!

    (F) Leia & Mohammed

  9. Safe trip, dear! Will you be able to come visit us while you're in Egypt?

Your in Egypt?? I thought you were in Asia? I don't even know what our plans are, but if you give me your number I'll give you a ring.

That is Great!!! I hope for you a SIF Monday!!! :D

Yeah, my expectations are probably not realistic, but heres to hoping.

Where is the time going? My husband is getting on my case because I'm not giving him that much attention...lol. I try to blow him off cuz I'm so focused on all the things I've got to do. Finished doing the last of my shopping to day, I am beat. Tomorrow, I have to do laundry, pack and go to the school to do some work for my program evaluation presentation which is Monday all day. I don't think there even going to pay us. And to top it off, the dresses I bought are a tight! lol :bonk: My moms asks me why didn't I schedule my flight earlier....I was like "uhhhhh I don't know"...lol I guess I was pretty desperate at that point to see my husband. Good night everyone :)

  10. Hello Everyone :)

Just wanted to give you an update on my status. My AVR was updated saying that they are reviewing my checklist letter response (RFE) as of May 20th. Hope to a sign in fail by monday. I will be departing for Cairo on Tuesday morning! :o Omg, the time is going by so quick. I am so busy this weekend. Not to mention I will be at work monday!

:star: Have a wonderful weekend! :star:

  11. Congratulations to everyone who has gotten notice of SIF/CC/Interview...that's fantastic news! I'm still waiting for any news about my case. I'm sure everything will turn out fine. I'm super busy here at work. Hope to hear more good news in the days to come. I will be departing for Egypt next Tuesday, haven't had time to get excited about that yet. Keep the good news rolling in, it give me piece of mind that the NVC is working.

    (F) Sincerely,

    Leia & Mohammed :)

  12. Sorry about the RFE--hope it's something you can get it sorted out soon!

Thanks. Hey, Good Luck with your interview today. We all know your prepared...Go get'em Tiger!

yahoo..we got sif today! goodluck to the others waiting for sif/cc...

    Congrats Nj328!

The Bears...thanks, I hope they get a look at our docs soon. With all these SIF/CCs happening hopefully their piles of papers went down...lol :)

  13. Congrats Alley! It's about time.

As for myself, no SIF or CC. On monday, AVR said I had some missing/incomplete document. I called and learned that they wanted the original marriage certificate that the embassy had stamped with their seal. My husband sent his original copy of the marriage certificate from Egypt and it didn't have the embassy stamp with the gold coil binding. I will simply overnight that today and hope for a CC soon.

I've been super busy lately, hardly any time to keep up with VJ readings, but it sounds like some of you have made progress. I wish you all the very best! :)

  14. While I do understand your concern, it is not about obsessing. I will most certainly destress when the package arrives to the embassy safely. That packet contains our ONLY English translated copy and the ONLY original Arabic copy of our marriage certificate. You have to understand that in Morocco it is an incredibly lengthy process to get all of the stamps, approvals, and necessary documentations. It took us several weeks last summer and we would not want to have to go through that again. It is distressing to me to think that it could possibly be lost. It is not exactly easy for me or my husband to obtain another copy with the certification stamps. So, it is not a frivolous phone call when I want to be sure they have taken care of the documents we have entrusted to the NVC. Since other packages appear on the DHL website but our's did not, I have an understandable amount of concern. However, I have just as much a right to make a phone call as anyone else. My call lasted all of 45 seconds so it's not like it caused anyone to have to wait an undue amount of time and the NVC is open extended hours. As we were going through the entire NVC process I made only a couple of phone calls to clarify what we were doing, as things progressed normally as VJ predicted. It is only when things happen out of the "norm" that I am making any inquiries so I don't feel like I'm taking away from anyone else by following through with my case.

Vanessa, don't worry about what Deb wrote. It actually was uncalled for. 'harass NVC'? you've got to be kidding me. Everyone obsesses and is anxious in every step of this process. These threads should be used to post your stesses and worries and get help and support. You have my support. ;) You can call them as many times as you want, you can check the DHL website as much as you want. Gathering documents is something no one wants to do over again. The NVC is open till midnight, don't see how thats an inconvience for some. Keep us all posted :P

  15. Spoke to an operator. Case Complete. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:dance:

 Congrats! I guess I'll be checking the payment website, just in case I get lucky too.

Alright then. Thanks for the info. I'll just check back next week and make sure it got there safely. I just was hoping that since our interview is still almost 2 months away that it would give the embassy some time to get its paperwork done and maybe we could avoid a lengthy AP. I REALLY want to bring my husband back with me when I come back for work at the end of the summer. I will keep an eye on this for sure. For now, I've got to get some sleep. Oh how the last couple of weeks of school wear me out!

Thanks Bears and everyone else too! G'night!

Wow, Vanessa you went from happy-calm to overly-anxious. I think the NVC is making excellent timing with our documents. I'm sure your docs will get to morocco in one piece. You seemed to have gotten everything else without much delay. Isn't the thought of coming back to the states with our husband so exciting! Just keep your eye on the prize, positive thoughts and next thing you will have your husband in your arms again. What a sweet day that will be for all of us...of course your wife if your a guy...lol. My last 3 black days are over, the rainbow has come out and I'm ready to tackle tomorrow. Have a good night everyone :)

  16. Let me start by saying sorry for not having my timeline updated.

Quick question. Have anyone received a call from NVC informing them that their case is completed and they should be set to be scheduled for interview during the 2nd week of May.

I have been trying to get a SIF all week and this morning I got my SIF then a few hours later a call from NVC (I even called the number back just to check it was the really NVC calling me) saying that my case completed. I just think it is strange and never seen any posting about NVC being this courteous before. LOL. Thanks

DS 230 and AOS received by NVC APRIL 26

    SIF May 5th

:wow: I can only wish to be as lucky as you to get a call from NVC saying that my case is complete! :star: Congratulations! :star:

 Thanks for sharing your super short timeline! It gives me a guideline and a sense of sanity. I'm very hopeful of a CC between this Saturday and coming Monday.

  17. here guys, watch this to help keep your power and hopes up!!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mzL56ZRXYc

    Cute video, I enjoyed it...Thanks! :D

    morning morning morning

Seems the craziness is starting to seep into many of us still on the chopping block for SIF/LIF - Interview date.

Not to fear however, the last mile of the race is always the hardest.

Although I am wondering if something to do with the time of year messes with your mind. I find I go through different mental states and can't point to any rhyme or reason why. Yet lately it's been an even stranger one than previous waiting sessions.

Ah hell well, in the end there isn't anything to do about it anyhow. Just ride the crazy roller coaster until we hit the end. So if you're peering out your window looking for the guys with the white coat, don't feel alone.

LOL@ the guys wit the white coat! Too funnie. I agree, everyone has to live one day at a time. I've ran a couple of half marathons, and the last mile...I never stop and push myself the hardest. Thanks for throwing that idea out there, it helped me put things in perspective.

First of all, I believe it's normal. You have to remember that this is a one-time experience and not the way your life will be forever. I think once you get your sign in fail and interview date, you're going to feel a lot better. That's what happened to me. But I've been a really emotional up and down person this school year but I'm really trying to work on it. What's helping me is knowing it's getting close. All year has been just like legalized torture thinking about how long my husband and I were going to be apart, how much I miss him, how overwhelming this whole process can be, and how no one here seems quite to understand it. They try and they want to be supportive but usually they just don't get why it's so stressful. My point, where it pertains to you, is to let you know that you're normal and that you need to give yourself a break. Get rid of the guilt because that's only going to bog you down and you have nothing to feel guilty for. You miss your husband and want to see him. That's a good thing! But, if you can figure out how to live in the moment then you won't miss the special memories you could be creating with your students as they prepare to graduate. Remember, you only have a matter of days before you are reunited so enjoy each day you have and take it as a blessing. At least you know it won't be an unknown amount of months before you see him...it's a matter of days. So put a smile in your heart and count the blessings you DO have and soon I think you'll be able to pull yourself out of the stress and be able to get work done again. Just stop worrying...it serves no purpose but to waste time and stress you out. I know it's easier said than done but really count the blessings you do have...list them out if you need to...and it really does help! Have a great day today!

I took your advice and counted my blessing. I watched our wedding video a couple of times and was reminded of how happy we are together. As I see other couples together and starting families, it makes me want to be together even more. It truly is like a dream coming true and I just have to have more faith into believing things will all fall into place. I begin to realize I'm not in my right, rational mind because I sometimes feel like I would move to Egypt...when in reality, I know I don't! LOL Also, I noticed I've been so tired lately, both physically and mentally. I just started a vitamin regimen, wondered if it could be that? Or it could be that awful argument I had with my cousin sister...we really don't like each other. I think I've snapped out of it, just got to work on enjoying the "now". I'm also going to miss my students, I've known them since their freshman year. This once in a life time moment is definitely one of the most trying times of my life. Thanks for your thoughts and consideration, I really appreciate it. (F)

Good advice guys. I am trying to stay busy to distract myself too. I have work and our son but like you Wife, I find my mind wandering to this whole process and praying that it will be over soon! I'm sure I'll look back and feel like it didn't take as long as it seemed so I'm staying positive! Have a great day you guys and remember that you always have your friends here to support you!

I agree, great support from people that really do understand and have been in our shoes at one point. I have only a couple of weeks to go, just enough time to take care of business here. Thanks for the positive vibes! B-) I'm cool now....lol

Hi people, we are very happy that we received the NOA2 last night, I think we will be part of the MAY family in our NVC journey, I see that most of you all are almost done, congratulations, we will follow your lead and hopefully fly thru NVC and get an interview by June I hope. God bless you all :)

Welcome! I'm sure you will fly through NVC, they are working faster than ever!

  18. Okay, I think I've been very patient all this time...but I now feel as if I've taken crazy pills. I'm starting to obsess about this now! I can't concentrate on my work, I can't plan, way to anxious and nervous. I'm going to have so much work to do in the next 3 weeks before I depart for Egypt...and right now, I'm procrastinating BIG Time! I'm going to be stressing so much later, I know it. I should be move involved with my graduating seniors, but all I can think about it leaving the US...and I feel guilty about this. I wish I could just go to sleep tonight and wake up in Egypt. Is this some type of depression or something? I feel like my mind is on auto pilot mode or something...so strange...hope I feel better tomorrow. I think I need to jump in a cold river somewhere! :bonk:

  19. Wooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooo, My husband(Wellmux)recieved his visa today. Thank you God :dance::dance::dance::dance:

:wow: CONGRATULATIONS! It's about time! So happy for you both, that was a lot of time in AP! I commend you both for waiting so long, congrats again.

I just wanted to make sure that they want me to redo the medical exam cause its already expired .And i guess yeah i did good .Cause sooner or later they will find out that i need to redo it before i move to USA .So they were going to delay me again !

The point is what about if i did not ask them for that ? I mean c'mon they should ask me for that .

 Looks like things are finally coming along for you...you will have your visa like Wellmux before you know it. Being proactive is very smart on your part. Congrats in advance!!

  20. Did anyone do this? When they got a false RFE for the DS-230 after the I864 was submitted (because the DS-230 wasn't submitted at the time) did you submit the DS-230 as a checklist response or via the normal route, meaning to the Attn:CMR? I am thinking that if I had submitted the DS-230 as a checklist response, it would have been entered quicker. Any thoughts?

 I did the exact same thing you did, by mailing to attn:cmr. On april 29, avr said they received our checklist response and then on april 30, the checklist cover letter was emailed to us. It confused me at first because I didn't understand what they meant by checklist response. I have no idea if it would've been reviewed faster, but I think I remember SeanJohn saying something about them processing his RFE super quick. Could be a shortcut to just mail it attn:dr? :)
