I hope my husband's experience will help others loosen up and be more normal when in their interview.
My husband went to his interview on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 8am.
He had a VERY GOOD interview. The man who interviewed him (he was told was A HARD CO )was about the same age as my husband, 34 years. He was very nice to my husband and saw he was sincere in his answers and he only asked him a few questions.
The CO who interviewed him knew English and French and VERY little "small" Arabic words so my husband spoke in English and French with him, Alot more in English. He said the interview was easy at the start and the CO mentioned something about his wife had sent a lot of documents so my husband took that this meant too much, lol. He didn't ask him for anything else... so I am thinking a GOOD THING!!!! I front loaded our case at USCIS with complete conversations randomly for our meeting and first year...The CO only looked at one of the Mix-Book albums I created of our "Journey of Love" (wedding party, first trip, poems, graphics, memory page of my first page, etc.)and he only looked at 4 of the 99 pages in the book! They DID READ some if not all of our e-mails/chat records because the CO asked my husband if he was sick? He told him no and then he asked him 'What about Vertigo?" My husband's answer " I had it for about a week and the Doctor told me I am ok" He had vertigo in 2009 I think.
My husband said, "he asked me about ur life kids...ect, and what I like in your character and what we share. His answer was "I like when she saw me watching soccer and she don't stress cause that she knows I love soccer but she tries to respêct this" He told the interviewer(CO) that we shared watching movies and he said the CO tried to be clever by asking him what kind of movies. He remembered we watched an American one together and he told him we watched a famous one filmed in Alabama "FORREST GUMP" with Tom Hanks. The CO smiled and said he did not know why my husband's face seem so familiar to him. My husband told him maybe he saw him at the beach resort he worked at. The Co said he had been there and he liked the resort a lot and played golf there. My husband told him if he could visit soon and before he leaves, lol, he can invite him to his city and the resort there. He asked my husband "he said why i will leave a nice place like Morocco and Mazagan" His answer...." i said i can feel the places are only nice with the woman i love, just with my wife.
Right after this conversation, the Co told him he can have the visa he was APPROVED!!!! javascript:emoticon('

smilie
Before the casual talk....The CO also had asked him the birthdays of my 3 children. My husband also told him about something tragic in my life which my father made some bad choices in his life and when I was 17, he went to prison. My father stayed 10 years and died of a heart-attack (This would have been in Federal records BTW) and I and my siblings went to separate homes. The Co asked him to tell him details about my father. My husband's answer to him was "all i know is sell drugs and i don't ask too much questions to my wife about that cause its part of her past and better not to ask about something like that"
I am 7 years older than my husband and the CO did not ask why he married someone older and also did not ask him why he did not marry a Moroccan woman. "My husband's words to me were "cause all my answers were very special so I'm sure he said no need to ask more that he will give me good answer, lol"
His interview lasted about 10 minutes!! He said there were at least 5 other men there who was denied!! In all the small talk,...the CO forgot to ask him to leave passport photos so they called today and asked him to bring them in the AM so he can still pick his visa up at 3 tomorrow. My husband asked me if it was ok for him to come in one month, he could not wait longer, Bless his heart. He knows I have been remodeling our home preparing for him. and of course I told him, baby you can come NOW!!! I was being nice to allow you time with your family. His mom is very sick and may need surgery so it's best he sees she gets medical attention and then we will plan his flight home to Alabama.

Congratulations!
THANK YOU!!!

Yes you will need a current police report when asked cause ours was about 6 or so months old and not within the 3 months stamped on Morocco's PC.
and also you will need a Casier Judiciaire (Judicial record from the courts), his birth certificate and your Deed of Marriage ORIGINAL copies as well as translated copies.
You will also need to get your last 3 years tax records or IRS Transcripts for the year 2007, 2008, 2009...also a LETTER from your employment telling your job title and company you work for as well as your annual salary.
hi, congratulations
i have a question for you? did you have to submit his police records frm morocco to the nvc? if so , is it ok if it's more than three months from the date of issuance?
thank you very much, and good luck to you.

Hello. I just wanted to share our news with everyone here at Visa Journey. Mohammed went for his interview this morning and I'm sure was one of the first ones being interviewed having a last name that starts with letter "B"........ I have only talked with him briefly because I worked today and all I know is he had the hard man to interview him everyone had talked about but he was very nice with him and he kept commenting "You look so familiar" and they talked about it and immediately after during this10 minute interview HE WAS APROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The CO told him he can come back on Wednesday at 3:00 to pick up his Visa. He is so tired and he did not go to bed last night from studying and the first thing he told me on the phone was "see baby, I told you that you always worry too much" and "you had me worrying for nothing"...so sounds like he had an easy time. He was taking a taxi from casa and asked if he can go and sleep this night and we can talk about the experience tomorrow after my work and I will be sure to share with you whatever questions was asked or if they looked at our photo albums, etc or any of our last 5 months of chat logs.........There is hope at Casa!!!! Good luck to Christine and Hicham and Darlene and Mohammed and all others. I want to thank Wendy and Darlene and others for always being optimistic and kind to me through this visa journey. I have made some great friends here...I want to thank my husband for all his hard effort and his patience even though he said I was sending "him with a LIBRARY"........God Bless you all!!!! MY HUSBAND IS COMING HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thnak you for all the great wishes and congratulations. I am hoping everyone will be with their husbands soon.
-
I Hope you are enjoying yourself. I just have to have a little bit more patience to allow him time to say his Good-Byes and to move out of his apartment, and get things settled there and to spend some time with his family now that his family will be put before his work and the long exhausting hours. Im finishing some remodeling work and getting things ready for him here so it's ok. I know we will be in each other's arms soon...maybe 40-60 days....we will see about the flights and the Holidays....My birthday is Nov 9th so maybe he can be my present this year. I present i can always remember.
Lisa I'm so happy for you and wish you guys all the best!!!! I'm here in Morocco now with my baby!
-
Thank you!!!

Hello....as most know here on VJ.....my husbnad from Morocco has his interview Monday morning...My question as I have been told is he may need to print off and carry with him the DS-156 and or DS-157...Is this correct for a CR-1??? Our appointment letter from NVC said we had everything, but I did not do these forms for him and one says its electronically, so I know we did not send it and never was requested. We need to have all printed out by tomorrow since he works on Saturday and Sunday and he will not find the time to do so. He doesn't have a printer and needs to go to a cybernet. Can they give this to him inside the consulate or is it required while he is in line/ Also I was told by one member here who was CR-1 that they asked for AOS to see while lined up outside waiting. Again, NVC said all AOS papers were ok and we would not need anything and I did send NVC our 2009, 2008, 2007 Tax Transcripts.....Why should he have these in line if NVC is to forward all his documents and Originals such as birth records, police repports, marriage certificate, etc?...I'm trying to avoid being put into AP over documents required.
We were told to by one applicant interview it is good to have the last 5 months of chat records, e-mails, phone records etc.....so now i have to go through even more records and have him print off by sending in e-mail attachments....and leave it to NVC operator told me on the phone that more evidence is ok but not required!
I'm hearing these past few days it appears the American born citizens are getting denials while it appears Moroccan us citizens bringing other Moroccans to usa by Visa's are getting approved. For our sakes here at VJ...I hope this does not happen ona daily basis.....I was also told recently that Morocco and or Embassies are allowed to approve so many interviews per day which is unfair if we pay our hard earned money to bring our loved ones to our home countries.....I am hoping the representatives who staed this is incorrect....If this is the case there should bea cut-off on how many to accept payments for per month......Hoping to hear some answers on the forms...wish us luck....I think we will all need it at this consulate no matter how well you will answer the questions.
-
sorry was not sending so duplicated
-
hi thanks for message tell me what can i bring with me to CO?
marriage document
and translation
certificate
translation passport
so still other things ?
Your packet 4 which is your e-mailed appointment letter shoulds tell you exactly what you need that NVC does not have to forward to the Consulate. We received one and it stated they had all our originla documents, also said all money was paid, and all it asked for was the medical with a link to get instructions and lists of the 3 Doctors accepted by the consulate. so therefore, if NVC already had your original birth certificate, police certificate, casier judiciaire, and your marriage/divorce documents, you should not need anything for CR-1 accept any evidence like chat records, e-mails, phone records, wedding party pictures, and any other photos of you two with family friends, and phone records, finiacial records or insurance cards with your name on it, insurance policies etc to prove a married couple .....anything you think they may question you about and if you have proof to show them wrong.....they may or may not ask for this proof but have it with you even though it was already mailed to USCIS....check your appointment letter and see if anything was checked for you to bring to the interview.
-
well like i told you b4 my interview will be on 22th and my the medical 20th i called dr khadija so she's told me will give me envlomp same day then i will bring it with me to CO
I hope you are allowing yourself time, because my husband used this Dr Khadija and he was not able to get his medical packet the same day cause the blood work had to be prepared or sent out. He has to make another trip to Dr. khadija to pick it up before his interview. Luckily he travels back and forth to the airport in Casa with his work. The Dr's office just seemed unorganized to me. They told him he didn't need an appointment to come any day of the week they were open and he makes the 4 hr (to and from) trip and they couldn't see him without trying to overcharge him lots of money to work him in to see the dr and he had to go back again on that following Monday by bus. I would call to ask how long it takes the blood results to get back and if its the same day. Maybe my husband was there at the end of the day and there was no time allowed to prepare his. I'm not sure.

I think Darlene is a K-1 not Cr-1. so the beneficairy should fill the applications online and print them to take them with him to the interview not sending them to NVC
.k-1 Different than CR-1.
Yes, I am aware the K-1 is different from CR-1 and is why i told darlene at least she would not have to dread the RFE's CR-1's get at the NVC stage, because her fiance is able to take it in person. She said he didn't have a printer and from Darlene and I talking on the phone every week, I remember her saying her Fiance has the most beautiful neat hand writing for English since he teaches some English, so I was telling her not to worry if he has to fill out the form by hand. Darlene some cybernets in his city may have printers if you just have to have him to do it on-line and print it off.
-
Yes, I understand perfectly well. My husband speaks English well and studied English in college but he still gets nervous with me speaking English and I sometimes forget he is not American, lol and I have to slow my speaking down...so yes, he can see what I write and respond sometimes quicker so yes it makes sense and furthermore, My husband knows big English words and sometimes its the small things he will have to ask what do I mean by that word......If they ask you something you do not understand, simply ask them to repeat it so you can understand the question better.
thanks so much for ur help sure so that why im more worry when they ask me fast that is my problem to speak english fast coz almost time i was talk with my wife just by messanger coz i have no problem wxhen im tayping on it i hope u understnad what i mean
-
Darlene, I prepared M'hammed's on-line and printed and I mailed him his copies and had him to sign and mail back to me. His had to be sent to NVC when filing a CR-1. You said he had pretty handwriting so I would not worry so much and he is giving it to them in person and not mailing and having to wait any dreadful RFE's like we had to,lol.
For those who are going thru CASA Morocco Embassy:
Does the DS156 and DS157 have to be generated on the computer?. There is no where in his packet 3 does it state to be completed on the computer and print the bar code for DS156. They sent him the DS156 form in his packet to complete. I see other countries and everyone says this form has to be completed online...... is that the case in Morocco as well?
Any one out there that had to go through the CASA embassy and just completed the forms by hand and carried them on their interview with them?
Please advice soon., as I need to know if I have to do them myself online as he does not have a printer to print barcode etc.
Thanks in advance,
Darlene

It will help others if you would fill in your timeline.Another VJ'r has interview coming up on the 20th and ours is the 27th.
Have you already had your medical?
My husband went yesterday and he said to be honest it was one of his most tiredest days. Two hrs travel by bus one way and he went with Dr. Khadija Zirari office. In his words " to be honest it was one of my tiredest days in my life. I spent lot of money and you know how things work in morocco. They are late to make everybody give them money or they tell you the next day or maybe next week lol anyway love i did everything"...................This was his SECOND trip to this office and traveling two hrs one way by bus. They originally told him he did not need an appointment, but when he arrived it was full of clients and she tried then getting lots of money and he refused, lol and he demanded an appointment and was told to come back on Monday. He received it in writing so the secretary would not turn him away again. I warned him about her ahead of time......This office is unprofessional because of this secretary. He is at the airport and with clients working so I did not get to ask him about his opinion of the medical Doctor. I think he waits now for results of the blood tests so I am not sure if this means this Dr. will mail the Consulate his results or if he has to return to pick the medical packet up for his interview. We have 13 days til the interview as of today, Tuesday.
I hope your interview goes smoothly and you are with your loved one soon.
thanks so much for help my interview will be on 22 this month

No simple yes or no answers!! Give details and explainations with interest!!
Watch your I's and use WE's instead...This shows you are working together as a team and he is not thinking of only himself!
Use the wife/Fiance's name in place of she or her! (shows closeness and humanizes both the petitioner and beneficiary. It's hard to think of someone as just another case when you keep hearing their name over and over.)
Don't say I THINK....you either act like you know or you say I'm not sure, we haven't talked much on this subject.
Also, show emotion, act like yourself, and don't memorize info to the point of sounding rehearsed or robotic.
This can cause a big red flag.
really im so worry about my interview coz i don't know what Questions they will ask me i told my wife im not worried coz i dont want he to be nervus so what can i do plz
-
should have read made it through Customs
and the last was misplaced at the Consulate and never made it to him without him hunting it down
-
Yes I spent $147 and if it had of weighed more, the cost would have been MORE! It's not crazy when you have a 4 week interview and you were told you did not make the September list and you will be notified by the second week of October for the October interviews and at last minute NVC sent you the interview for September......... and I had sent twice mail to my husband by using the regular postal service USPS EXPRESS which I paid about $45-70 depending on the weight of the package, and it took 4 and 5 weeks and the last was misplaced at the Consulate and never made it to him without him hunting it down...(delayed our case at NVC)...so this time I still used the regular post office but GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL which has a FLAT RATE of $147!!!! Luckily..... my package was our wedding/honey-moon, memories, marriage celebration, all collaged with nice poems and notes which is our book of our relationship/marriage to have as a keepsake....and yes i wanted him to have it at his interview and with a CR-1 your PACKET 4 is YOUR APPOINTMENT letter and he needed this letter that was sent in an e-mail form,at with a .PDF file to take to his interview and BEFORE he can do his medical, he had to have this appointment letter so I sent him a copy along with our last months of phone records and proof I was separated from my husband for 4 years buying my own place and proof from the utility office and my contract on my home with phone numbers and names and evidence that can be verified through government records my EX addresses over the years where he applied for SSI and disability which also included him living at the address with his girlfriend .....so yes it had to get there safely since all the Consulate would see is I was Legally divorced from my ex just 90 days my first trip and over a year now, incase they saw it as a red flag so I covered myself.........FED EX was going to cost the same thing and DHL was going to be higher and some didn't have high regards for DHL..........mailed on saturday.....made it to Casablanca on the 1st & through customs, and delivered in his hands YESTERDAY!!! Now he doesn't have to run all over the place to see who can print out pdf file since he doesn't havea printer and he has our evidences and photos if he is asked or questioned about it.....Is $147 too much to try and get my husband home??? I don't think so....baked goods, yes!!!...but if you meant our mailing system sucks for over-charging?? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I just mailed a package to Morocco that weighed only 2.2 lbs and I uysed the GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL service which has a minimum fee of $147 PLUS. It advertises to get to destinations 1-3 days but my receipt printed out 7 days and the postal clerk re-checked it in the system and it said again 7 days.....I mailed the package on Saturday the 28th and the tracking shows it made it through customs on 9/1 after it left here in Alabama, went to Memphis, to Paris-France to Madrid Spain and then on to Morocco! It says enroute to him today...Here is a link I found with some guidelines.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071015002214AAgJcit
I probably wouldn't. Sometimes things get there in a few days and sometimes a few weeks...and sometimes never...

We are CR-1 and at the Interview stage now. Here is my opinion and of course we all have one.... I know there has been many discussions on VJ about front-loading petitions with too much or not enough evidence and some not wanting to share too much personal information with strangers on the other end of the NVC and USCIS and CO's at interview, but the way I look at it, if it is their job to determine if we are a genuine couple or marriage partner, they can't determine this with 'No Knowledge mailed in with our petitions.
....Tonight as I talked with NVC operator about questions with my husbands interview only being 4 weeks away and if he waits for a medical packet 4 to take for his medical they told me NO that the e-mail appointment letter with the medical Dr's link is his PACKET 4!
I asked about all our original documents if he should have another copy and she said no, they have been processed at NVC and they will forward them to the consulate. I then asked her if he is suppose to bring more evidence of our marriage/relationship such as up-to-date e-mails, phone records etc and she said "NO, it is not required!", so my theory is this....the more you send at your petition stage at USCIS when you file the petition for your spouse/fiance...the better you should be to PROVE your relationship. If you wait and bring it with you to the interview, it is really up to the CO's discretion if they want to take the time to process it at this stage of the process. That is why sometimes they refuse to look at what they brought and sometimes they WILL look at your evidence. Sometimes, we questioned how some VJ'rs were approved without showing one photo or evidence at the interview stage and was approved. Maybe, just maybe they do already pretty much know if you will be approved before the interview ever starts unless your man really looks nervous or like he is hiding something. ....I have to admit, i had not read VJ or was a member when I sent the original petition so I sent e-mails and chat records for almost every single day for that first year and including when we first started talking....I did not cross out any text.....hope they didn't get to embarressed and hope they didn't mind reading through the issues with the teenage kids and problems with the Ex, etc and work related issues. problems with the racists brother. We never fought...Only had one disagreement and it was my fault I overacted without talking to him first. USCIS or NVC or the consulate may not read it all....but it was available to them to try and to get to know us through our conversations and "DAILY LIFE" to prove a fraud marriage or relationship.......I sincerely hope we do not get a denial by being honest.

Have you tried calling USCIS and ask them what is the best petition for you to file under the circumstances? They can guide you and let you know 100% if the work permit will work being you are married and trying to skip the I-130/CR1 petition. or you can call a local office closest to you and inquire. i'm sure they will be helpful.
Thank-You Lisa and Boiler ... I am relieved there is a dual intent work visa ... I think Montana is beautiful and it would be a good experience to go live there, plus I wouldnt have to leave my country. I am not going to get into a big story book here ... All I will say is I am mobile and not ugly and I do believe, stupid as that may make me look, that my husband does loves me very much and is not using me, but has an honest intent to come here and try his very best to be a good husband. God Bless You too.

I may be incorrect but since he is now married to a US Citizen, they would not approve his work visa on grounds he has another reason to want to go to USA and that is to live with his wife. Therefore, I think the AOS is something she and he can not get around. I'm sure Darnel can answer this more accurately....but it seems I read this somewhere in the archives.....also we filed CR-1 and the Affidavit of Support (AOS) is sent in to the NVC and is approved at the NVC stage of the process for married couples and before the interview.....K-1's Fiance visa's bring AOS to the interview.
Carole, your cousin may feel he is somewhat trying to protect you since you are diabled and much older than your spouse. Depends on how much older. He may be wondering why a such younger man would want a handicap woman. He may be looking at it as a scam for a visa. Depends probably on your handicap and if you are wheelchair bound, etc. and what you have to offer the young man. The CO's may question it as well, but if young men find you attractive in general and in your own state/country then you have your answer, i wouldn't worry much about what the cousin thought.
As far as VJ'rs here...I don't think anyone tried to hurt your feelings on purpose. AOS is not something a lot of family members or others would want to do...I couldn't ask my family and if I was forced to, they would not sign as well and not because they don't like my husband or his religion, it is a big responsibility put on someone. You are signing a government contract that can be held accountable for 10 years or longer depending on how long it took the immigrant to work and pay his 40 credits in. You may have no other choice, but to go live with him in Morocco. I hope things work out for you in your favor...God Bless.
Has this happened to anyone?

Hello.....My hsuband was APPROVED for his visa on Mon Sept 27,2010...He was told at the interview to come on wednesday at 3pm to pick up his visa. It will be ready! They kept his passport too.
He gets a call back to bring his photos for visa that the Co Interviewer FORGOT to ask him for and the consulate told him to come early in the A.M. so he can still pick up his visa by 3 pm.....He gets there on Wednesday and waited all day and NO VISA....they tell him and about 14 others to come back TODAY Sept 30th and it will be ready.....so he gets there in the early morning and I am told he and the others waited in line all day from morning til 6pm in the hot sun....they couldn't get near the consulate or entrance to ask about visa but consulate sent a man out to tell them all still no visa and come back a THIRD time,lol....which is tomorrow and Friday...no apologies and no explainations....no personal phone calls telling of the delays! Now his boss is very upset and told my husband if he doesn't want to work and missing, they will let him go...so he was torn between going again to Casa or go to work.....I advised him to go to work and try again next week to not make another wasted trip.......in talking with my husband about this issue tonight, I found out the interviewer also FORGOT to give him any slip of paper for approval, denial, or Ap...all the others waiting with him had green approved slips. Another man in line who was told he was approved was told he needed to bring back tax records or AOS which was a C-1 case too...Now my husbnad is worried they will tell him this too since ours were turned in at NVC stage and the interviewer did not ask for another copy or our AOS or 2007-2009 tax transcripts the day of........why can't the consulate tell our loved ones "we will call you when your visa is ready"...what is going on with this??? Has anyone ever had this problem with Morocco consulate who might can shed some light and give me advise or answers...i tried calling NVC and the operator said he did not have results in their computer since our case left NVC....Do I contact the Department of state? I know calling the consulate we may not get them tro answer and my husband did call consulate before going and they told several of these men to come and everything is ok and they travel these hrs and waste money (qwhich most don't have to begin with) and they get to casa and no VISA. My husband is now sick from the sun and very very upset and felt they were treated like animals and never told them I am sorry and he may be losing his job tomorrow over this absence.....what would you advise us to do in this situation?wait it out and let them contact him whenever???
