  1. I will start by saying my husband had biometrics in February of 2014. He had his interview in December of 2014 and received a letter checked with recommended for APPROVAL...Case status has showed waiting in line for Oath Ceremony appointment and if we don't hear anything in 45 days to contact them. The 1-800 call center advised us to make an info pass appointment to make the 8 hr trip to Atlanta to directly speak to an officer about how much longer for an appointment. My husband's Moroccan passport expires in a few days! He has elder parents sickly. The lady officer he got did NOTHING but pulled up his case status just as we did ON-LINE.....WOW! Then says everything looks fine but would not even tell him a time frame for his appointment. Act like she didn't know anything or even cared and sent him on his way....Who can i call to make sure he is not waiting two years or longer? Is there a Congressman, statesman, or supervisor? I know there are others who have this same problem with Atlanta. My husband is adding a name since he was given at birth just a first and last name. I feel we are back to square 1....any advice? Thanks in advance.

  2. I provided a couple money gram receipts....we got approved with only two trips to Morocco. We did the Aos (adjustment of status) and a couple of weeks ago received the 10 year card without having to go to an interview. I would say unless you are sending lots of money, it just shows helping especially if its a spouse.

  3. How do you check if its been touched? I see Vermont has a 8.9 month processing time but I got a call today from an Immigration number, maybe it has something to do with my husband going and re-newing his license today? It was actually Homeland Security 813-304-2233.

So no touches since 21st September. Biometrics were done October 23rd. Anyone else have any updates, touches etc??? Only about 6 more weeks till the 6 month time is up.

  4. Please find latest list and update it everyone!

  8. I just want to tell you....i think they are being hard on you....first My husband and i was approved and he is now in USA of almost two years and we are now filing the ROC to adjust his status to a 10 year Resident card.....I did not use SKYPE when chatting with my husband, infact we never used sound while chatting but about two times cause his version of computer was not new enough to install program....with that said, we just got to where we talked BRIEFLY everyday...we didn't sit at computer hours a day and worrying what the other was doing...we both had lives and jobs.....just be yourself at the interview. this is what helped my husband. He like you spoke some English but didn't feel too comfortable...but he did let the interviwer know up front he was little bad with english but can speak french so they spoke little of each, but he requested his interview in English. It looks better on you to do so and will be a PLUS! Don't act nervous or over confidient....some questions asked of him in 2010 was

    1. Tell me something tragic that happened in your wife's life or past

    2. what is the names of her children (if she has any) and what ages and where do they live and what is their father's name? Where does the father live

    3. What high school or university did your wife attend and what elementary school? When did she graduate?

    4. What is her mother and father's name and how old and where do they live and if deceased (died) know the cause of death, etc info about health

5.) What does her mother and father do for a living or work (occupation/job)

    6) where do they live? What city state or country?

7.) where does her kids go to school

    8) How much is her home payment, car payment, pays babysitting, know some financial stuff

    9) Know where wife works/company and how much she makes a year working for company

    10) why do you love your wife? What do you like the most about her.....what do you like the least about her?

    11) what do you share in common?

    12) what where the exact dates your wife visited you in Morocco and where did she stay?

    13) what religion is your wife and know where she attends church or services

    14) Does she have any pets/animals and what are the names

    15) what did you and your wife do while she was in Morocco?

    16) Tell me about your wife from the time she was born til now!!!! This is hardest....it has happened

    17) know about previous marriages of wife

    18) don't tell any lies no matter how small...they can ask you about some other relationship or e-mails on-line with another and has been known to call that person and deny you for being dishonest.

19...how many brothers/sisters or siblings does she have/

    20. where does her brother live and what kind of work/job? Does she see him often? Have you talked to him or met him on-line? Same question if she has a sister...know details...city and state

21...what is her favorite movie....favorite book...favorite actor, singer?

22...what is your wifes hobbies...what does she like to do for fun?

These are some off the top of my head that was asked of him or others back when we were filing.......learn as much as you can and if you don't know something you are unsure of, let them know you are unsure and not sure if you two discussed it....but know almost EVERYTHING....and good luck.

BTW...I had only traveled to morocco TWICE...Once in 2008 and again in 2009 and started filing papers after marrying on my second trip.....just be honest and yourself and happy when you talk about her and make sure....HAVE eye contact contsantly...don't look down or off to your sides...it makes them feel like you are hiding the truth

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU and I hope i have helped some..

I talked to her through microphone on Skype hundred of times but i feel i'm not speaking it good enough as it should be.. or maybe i'm underestimating myself like you mentioned above.. i really don't.. One thing i forgot is most of time i'm being shy to speak it infront family or friends hahaha., i'm weird huh? :)

  9. I agree with Kathryn....we should not judge harshly. and having three teenage children in my own household, I can relate and understand how challenging it can be for this man...I can see from my husband's experiences where maybe the poster could be coming from with his feelings.....both would have to have lots of patience....my kids liked my husband and now two doesn't talk to him and was disrespectful because he was new in relationship here and trying to do his best and they were looking for reasons to complain and compare and jealousies etc...we have come a long way but still have issues with my teenage kids so I can relate to this poster for his feelings of sorrow and wanting her kids to like him and like my husband he just wants a marriage and to live in peace and be respected..I have had to show the kids some tough love....I am glad my husband has patience and shows his enduring love, therefore I know my husband married me for nothing other than love....and he had an easier job back at home....there are lots of things that can affect marriages and we do not know all of this couple's issues, so let's not judge so harshly and I too thought the same at first but then I really thought his English is bad and he phrased what he wanted to say, badly....If they want their marriage to work and love one another, i would suggest counseling as well. Too keep in mind, living together is totally different from years of thinking you know someone from a few visits and seeing and talking to them on-line. Life throws you curves and obstacles in the way. We show our true self's when we start living together........It is no longer the fairy tale..it's reality and trully living together and making your lives the way you want it to be. This is just my opinions so don't beat me up.

    .

Alright, I am going to interject here.

First, unless you have had a lot of experience dealing with individuals whose first language is not English, do not assume that how you interpret someone's post is the same way they meant it. The OP's English use is consistent with someone who does not understand the nuances of the language. Instead of 'adding' your nuanced interpretations to his words, read the sentences individually and determine what they mean. It is equally interpretable as meaning 'my situation is thus - I have my green card so am a permanent resident. My marriage, however, is not going well. My wife's 3 teen aged daughters and I don't get along. My wife and I are arguing all of the time and we are both unhappy. If we get divorced, how will this affect my status in this country.". That is what he has said - and if you had read it as written in those words you would not now be accusing him of fraud.

Please, this website is supposed to be helpful and constructive, not judgmental and critical. When you read a post that you know is not written by a native English speaker/writer - think twice or three times about how each sentence can be phrased or constructed and put into context in the greater whole.

His situation is plausible and has been seen many times here on Visa Journey. Some relationship chasms are just too deep to bridge easily due to cultural differences and personality conflicts. Unless you actually have hard and fast proof that this man has committed visa fraud - and I see nothing in his post to indicate that he has (and I have had a lot of experience dealing with non-native English speakers), then answer his question with consideration and care - or do not participate in this thread. Speculation and supposition are good for gossip but not for facts.

This post is made both as a moderator and as a member of Visa Journey.

I repeat - if you have nothing constructive to add to this discussion, then do not add anything at all. Two posts violating TOS have already been removed and I will remove others if necessary.

  10. I really don't think the age factor is as big a deal with the consulate as other factors. I am 9 years older than my husband and I know of one case in which the woman was 60 and her fiance was almost 30! Several here, which the age gap is larger than mine and also my own case got quick approvals recently....I had two vists of which was 2 weeks at a time over a three year relationship and was approved....both cases including my own made enough income to support the significant other.....one case the man has family in the USA and the consulate was aware and was not a big issue for them....both the other cases the ladies had traveled to Morocco 5-7 times and filed the

K-1 all three of us ladies had been married before.....and all three have children from our past marriages, but all 3 are white and my husbnad too agreed that most Arabic especially Moroccans are not attracted to black women and the consulate may be passing this very same judgement against you both.....I would mention the other siblings and the relationships cause this may be your problem and I am sure they are aware of info on these other siblings.....I know you both have fought hard to be together and I wish you the best. Can you go there and talk to the consulate?Arrange fora private meeting and air it all out and let them see how much you love one another?

    about

And don't forget you are older too, although not by much.

  11. Our date was from Port of Entry date but we were a CR-1....and as I said holds true in our case and all CR-1's...sorry didn't realize person asking was a K-1.

Um no? you are so so wrong this is a K-1 person. YOU HAVE TO FILE TO GET THE GREEN CARD IT IS NOT THE DATE OF THE ENTRANCE STAMP.

The green card is filed for by AOS. you do not get it in the mail after entering on a K-1. The green card date is completely different from the entry date.

  12. actually on the greencard the issuance date of the greencard (since it is mailed after the port of entry stamp upon arriving in USA....is the issuance date so therefore the expiration date is two years after isuuance date...example my husband arrived at JFK's port of entry on Nov 30, 2010....issuance date on green card is Nov 30, 2010....his expiration on his card states Nov 30, 2012...........so evidentlly they use this date of port of entry as your isuuance date. So in this case I am CORRECT!!

INKY........Actually it has nothing to do with a port of entry stamp at all. It has to do with the issue date on the green card. A port of entry stamp is something completely different all together.

  13. Removal of condition is 90 days prior to the ANNIVERSARY date of THE PORT OF ENTRY STAMP(arrived in USA, for example) ....... and it is not the anniversary of your MARRIAGE DATE.

yes you can traval out side of the us for one month, but remember july 17 your green card expires,so married you count backwards 90 days minus, that come to around after april 19 2011 you can file the 1-751 to remove conditions, not before april 19,you should home in time start to gather all your evidence, and tax transcripts, photos,if you did al ready, good luck,

  14. Means they have not received it as of yet or it could be in the mail room and not made it to your files as of yet.

When we got an RFE at NVC we got the letter like this indicating they need documents to finish. so no biggie!!

  15. Hi VJ members. I asked about scheduling flights earlier this month on determining if a loved one from Morocco could land at JFK, go through baggage claim and their POE interview ( arriving at 03:45 pm) and make a conecting flight at 6:30 pm. Flight attendent with Delta said yes, she saw no problem him clearing interview....making a connecting flight at 6:30 pm.

As some of you know, today my husband is traveling home to the states and from tracking his flight....they had a 2 1/2 hr delay in leaving Mohammed V airport in casablanca. His arrival should have been 3:45 pm and it is scheduled estimated runway time 6:12 pm. He would have missed his connecting flight, probably at his expense. I'm glad we decided to opt for him staying overnight in NYC to avoid chancing this.

Just wanted to share with everyone delays do happen. Plan your trips wisely.

  16. I hope things get better for you both. it's going to be a hard long road for you both if you have to already have counseling and you are not married or sharing the same culture yet. You are both brave to chance a relationship that is already rocky. I hope you overcome everything and wish you the best. It's a lot to risk when both parties are not 100% sure it will work and then if it does not work out, you have to send the other person back to their home country. A lot of sacrificing....BEST WISHES

yup,and the petitioner and i got back together after a week or so with the promise of individual for now and ( hopefully soon ) couples counseling,so far so good

typical stuff, you know even hearing something doesnt necessarily mean we are gonna get approved.

  17. It sounds like your wife is playing games with you. Sound like from what you ar saying is she want this other man BUT WHILE you sit and wait for her! This is no marriage and how could you trust this woman who is only leading you on and playing with your feelings? I'm sorry but this woman is sorry for doing this to you. She should have explained to you her feelings had changed and for you not to come to her. I agree with the previous poster, she is burning all ties and evidence to your marriage. I would protect myself and stay away from her. You may have to contact USCIS and explain what she has done and leave this situation in their hands to settle why she did this without revoking your visa prior to coming! You don't want this woman hurting your chances of ever marrying another US citizen or other cause she will make you look bad that this marrige did not work out and it was on false pretense and not love. You don't want to wait for her to make you look bad to USCIS, even f it means going back to your own country. Afterall, she is the reason you came here correct? Not for a visa? Without her, you may not can stay. She may be asking for your documents too cause she knows she is responsible for you for at least 10 years. I'm sorry this has happened to you.

  18. Go live there until you bring her like i did..

    Now who frustrated ? ? ? ? I have a attorney doing it all ! ! ! Why i need to worry ? ?

Most men can easily leave children with ex's taking care of them and trot off to another country and be with their loved one. It's not so easy for women here on VJ who meet and fall in love with a man who can not travel to them while the woman is raising their minor children. Besides if you have minor or teenage children, these children do not want to uproot their lives and trade their USA life in for a country they know very little about or does not understand the language. Besides their biologocal fathers would not sign for them to have passport to leave the country permanently.Women are not in good positions to leave everything like some men can. I am not saying you have children oo have done this but you need to be understanding and sensitive to the fact not all are lucky as you. Can we just leave our $21 plus jobs and stability behind?....

Im not frustrated in writing this, my husband came through a high fraud interview passed and will be here in a few days WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY and I did everything by website and friends here at VJ. A lawyer can't do anymore for you than what you could do for yourself, in my opinion.

    :ot2::wow::rofl: LOL :)
