Hi guys, is it normal that I haven't been put inline for an interview yet? My fingerprints were taken on 3/19, and it's been a month now.
Do I need to call them to ask or should I just wait?
I had my biometrics too on the 19th. Just received my inline letter today. I was worried, too. Like previously mentioned, it depends on how busy the office is. If i were you I'd wait another well before calling.

My wife recieved her permanent GC and we moved to the US about 2 years ago. At the time we moved, we didn't have jobs or anything established in the US, so her 2 minor children (ages 15 and 17) remained behind with their grandmother in Manila. The grandmother had a stroke today and there is not anyone else available to take care of the kids.
I'm familiar with the process to petition for the kid's visas, but I'm wondering if there is any way to get the papers processed more quickly. My wife and I have a newborn baby in the US so her going to Manila to take care of her kids while we wait for the visa processing to complete would create significant problems.
Does anyone know if there is a way to speed up processing or get the kids admitted to the US more quickly than usual?
Was your wife ever married to their biologic father? Meaning are they illegitimate children?
If so, you (the USC) can petition your stepchildren. From an immigration standpoint, they are your children and are your immediate relatives.
You may file the I-130 petition and request an expedite, based on your situation. No guarantees, but USCIS may grant it.

Have some question i'm filling for my parents got a approved last march 11,2013 im still waiting for the NVC for further process its been a month since i got a approval..
Question. 1.Does any body knows how long the NVC to response. USCIS said that they already send it to NVC for more processing.
2.and Do i receive also DS-230 i'm the petitioner.

Please read this guide, if you haven't already. The guide emphasizes being proactive...especially during the NVC stage. Highly recommend that.

They cannot get citizenship through you.
However, when your wife gets her citizenship, as long as they are under 18 they will automatically get their citizenship through her.

They are 13 and 11.
Okay. Since they are not in your physical custody (meaning they are not in the U.S.), you would need to petition them using this link. The whole process may take roughly 6 to 12 months...hopefully, sooner. They will become permanent residents, at first. Then, in a few years can apply for naturalization.

are we going to wait now for my pocket?not to do anything just to wait?
just a simple question but really help us...just give me an idea or instruction plssss...
Congratulations on receiving your NOA2! Things will go fast during this stage.
If you haven't read this guide already, I highly recommend that you do. I followed this guide to the letter, and had no problems.
It emphasizes being proactive during this stage, rather than reactive. It was the single best piece of advice.

Hello All,
We are starting to fill out the paperwork for my step children but while I was filling out the I-130 form, it asks for her relative (my wife) I-94 number.
It is not in her passport. I don't remember seeing it.
From what I have read this number is used when my wife was issued her social security card, so the number must exist.
Is there a way to discover what the number is?
Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to Section C, Question #14 on the form I-130?
If so, it is not asking for your wife's I-94 number.
On the I-130 form, the USC (stepfather) is the petitioner. In your case, the child (your stepchild) is the beneficiary.
I am assuming that the child is not currently in the U.S.? If s/he is currently not in the U.S., Question #14 is not applicable. You would place "N/A" in that field.
This is what I did when petitioning my stepdaughter.

Seriously? You sent that?
May I remind you that a congressional inquiry is just that...an inquiry. Their liaisons can get the latest status of your case. They cannot force USCIS to make a decision.
IMHO, you should be more patient during this process. You're not the first person who has waited ~ 6 months for an approved petition.

I am using a flat rate envelope for my mailing bt won't all the papers be scattered once the USCIS open the envelope to review my case. Should I use ideal clamps or paperclip to secure all the papers for reviewing.

can someone tell me if i should use folders to mail my documents or what should i use to mail my papers? I am using an post office mail express envelope and dont want all the loose papers and pictures to be scattered. What should I be using for my papers?
I used ideal clamps to secure all my paperwork.
Also, you may want to consider using USPS Flat Rate Mailing Envelope. I used this with signature confirmation. It is very cost efficient.

I need help or any idea for those who experienced getting a US passport for minor kids here in the US?
Here is my situation. I got my US citizenship last year and is planning to get my 2 minor kids their US passports as well.
My 2 kids are considered illigitimate since i was not married to their biological father. My 2 kids came here thru IR2 being petitioned by my USC husband .
Anyway i called for an appointment to get my kids US passport but then the lady at the post office said i need to have an original copy of death Certificate of my x?
Do i really need to? My x was out of the pic when the kids are growing up . I was a single mom (with DSWD Single Parent ID). i did not have any contact with him and did not even know the real detail of where, how and when he died?
Anybody here had a success getting passport for illigitimate minors?
What documents they u submit for proof that u have sole custudy of ur kids?
Please i would appreciate any ideas.

I have no idea why the postal employee is asking a death certificate of your ex[boyfriend]...NOT ex[husband]. Illegitimate children are under the sole custody of the mother.
If your children were under 18 years of age when you naturalized, they are automatically U.S. citizens. Their citizenship is already established, whether or not you provide their biologic father's civil documents.
I'm sorry I cannot provide a definitive answer. I would definitely print something from USCIS and bring with you to post office. Many employees are out of the loop when it concerns these special circumstances.

Hi Everyone,
My wife and I will be doing POE in Seattle next month. Does anyone have any experiences or advice to share about Seatac? I went with a layover of 5 hours there; hope that's adequate time to get things taken care of and then find a bottle of Pyramid before our connecting flight to SLC.

Sea-Tac POE is pretty smooth, IMO.
My stepdaughter had her POE at Sea-Tac a couple years ago. The customs officers were very quick and professional.
When she claimed her luggage, she was asked if she's carrying longganisa, tocino, chicharon, fruits or vegetables (since Philippines was her origin).
Nothing more. Very unremarkable.

Hi there! Our petition has been approved today. I know we have to wait for a few days for NVC processing. My husband hired a lawyer and I'm not sure if she will be the assigned agent to receive any communication from NVC. (it's actually my husband who talks to her, and he needs to ask an appointment before she can talk to her)
I would just like to know if someone in here is in the same situation with mine. What did your lawyer do to help? What's the process? Is your lawyer be the one who will send the needed documents? Does hiring a lawyer helps to speed up the process?

IMHO, there really is no need for a lawyer for most uncomplicated situations. Most VJers here do the process on their own.
The petitioner and beneficiary can acquire and submit most, if not all, required documents.
No, having a lawyer does not speed up the process.
