  1. Okay thanks so much. Taka and Spirit would be cheaper if we lived in FL or Texas but since he'll have to take a second flight it's cheaper to go with United or AA. We are soooo excited. I haven't seen him for 7 mos. I miss Nicaragua so much after having taken a trip every three months for about two years. I definitely want to live there part of the year as part of my retirement...

  2. Hey Nica how are you? Hope you are still reading these from time to time. I have great news. My hubby finally was issued his VISA and he picked it up yesterday! Does he have to enter into any particular airport or can he enter in which ever one I can find the cheapest flights to. I hear Spirit and Taka are good ones from Managua. Any suggestions would help.

  3. My husband picked up his VISA yesterday and we're making plans to be reunited after 2 years 5 mos

May i ask why did it take so long? How long did you wait for the interview? hmmmm...after the interview...i can go to my husband right?

  4. Have you been able to visit Nica? I haven't been since August and really miss Central America. I love it down there.

  5. Oh yes me too, but you know after this much time of being lonely, depressed and missing him I'm a changed person. I'm more courageous, full of faith, and independent. I feel really different and well, older. Haha

  6. The waiver package and approval is on it's way back from Honduras to Nicaragua. The consulate will call him after they have a chance to reveiw it and tell him if he has to do anything again.. police reports, medical, tax info, etc. After he turns that in they will take some time to review it and let him know if they need anything else then let him go pick up his VISA/greencard

  7. Well finally I can say that our VISA application was approved. After him being away since November 2009, the I-130 submitted in 2010, here we are in February 2011 and he finally will be getting his VISA

  8. Incredibly happy - our I-601 Waiver application is approved!

  9. Several I601 applications recently approved in Honduras.

  10. Thanks Nica now January is looking like a real possibility (or December if there weren't so many holidays!)

  11. Honduras finally moving applications.

6 months? Or maybe less? :)

  12. Still waiting.....

  13. Oh thanks for asking. Just returned from a visit there! Sunday the children were out in the street singing to the Virgin and getting candy! The beach was wide, brown, peaceful and cool. We are still waiting for the waiver to be approved. There was a huge processing slowdown Jan-June but seems like they are starting again. We aim for a spring Visa God willing. Hope you are well an...

  14. On the March 2011 USCIS Processing list, now the wait begins. The website says 9 months but at the 2-4 they are processing per week it seems like it would be twice that time. I hope not.

  15. Still waiting for our case number to appear on the I-601 processing list in Honduras. We're on day 34 now and the "processing time" clock doesn't start until we get on that darn list!

  16. I'd also be happy to help if I can. I also have someone in Nicaragua. Best of luck!

  17. Visa process finished but got 10 year ban for EWI. Applied for I-601 waiver of ban and now we wait... 9-12 months. Love will make us strong.

      Entering without inspection

Anyone EWI will get the 10year ban from entering legally

So your visa is approved but you have to wait because your husband came here illegally at one time??? wow, that's harsh! :P With the waiver you have to wait 9-12 more months?? Agh, I'll be praying for you two!!

Oh thank-you. This is making us stronger and in the end we will know we did the right thing. The ban also applies to people that over-stay student and travel visa's. A lot of people don't realize that and sometimes the lawyers steer them wrong just to make a buck.

  18. Police reports in the mail to Nicaragua and should arrive soon. Yet another visit to the consulate. The consulate takes fingerprints at the interview but won't give you a copy... we tried because we needed them for the police reports but they didn't share them. Oh and they call them police reports but since my husband was never arrested they are simply background checks that come back saying No Records Found. Hopefully now they will finish the Visa process.

Good luck getting the police reports & getting ur visa in the passport. When i went to interview they asked me for more recent police certificate, but thank God i had it with me... coz the other one would have expired end on Jan, so i made new one in Nov, just in case.

I'm glad you got them together fast. I really hope you get done with this soon!!

  19. The interview went fine except they want police records from Chinendega. The NVC said we don't need them but the consulate said the NVC information is outdated and that we do need them. Since my husband was also living in the US for a while they want records from Louisiana and Texas. So we are pulling these together and he'll go back on his own and see what they say next.

  20. Need to get police records even though in the papers NVC sent us they said we don't need them. The Nica consulate said that the NVC information is outdated. Argh!

    1. Ashley_Armando

      Ashley_Armando

so, we still need them for the interview and not the NVC stage, correct. lo siento por tu frustración! :P

Yes, even if NVC tells you otherwise apparently the consulate will require them.. at least they did for us. They said the pueblo or the district is fine.

  21. Thanks! I just came back from a visit over there and am now going back next week. My son is coming with me and they said he can join us in the interview. I hope all goes well. How are you enjoying all the SNOW!!!

  24. Hey how are you? A new pic downtown right? I'm so happy for you. This time next week I may be on the tranquil quiet beach in Nicaragua with my love and his family. When I get back maybe I'll have an interview date scheduled! That would be so nice.
