I have to say, living with my husband has been more than wonderful. I wake up smiling beside him every day.

Green Card arrived today!!!

No tests! I got my vehicle registered and got NY state plates. She just took all my forms, my license, and if course, money...gave me a temp license and my plates. I wonder if it's like this in every state or just ones closer to the border.

Got my NY Driver's license today! Easier than I thought, had to hand in my Ontario license though. Bank account is next!

Most states, especially bordering states, will accept a Canadian DL in order to get a US license. However, you need certain pieces of evidence to prove address....that's where I am now, trying to get something in my name with my US address.

No GC news yet...but it's been kinda frustrating to get anything in the US to show I'm a person. Trying to get a utility bill in my name so I can get a bank account and a NY state driver's license.

Got my SS card today!

Finally being able to see my husband everyday feels wonderful!

I am officially a resident of the US! POE was good, long but not stressful.

Tomorrow is POE day!

Do you have to wait for her SSN to come in? I know in NY state, I'll have to wait for my number before trying to get a license....then change over EVERYTHING with my car after I get it.

Getting excited, yes! Matt came over yesterday and we both got a little giddy about it. And no, everything is not packed...I'm staring at so many things that needs to be put into a box right now LOL.

5 days til POE!

Saturday! Apartment is half packed and Matt just rented the moving truck today. I can't wait! How has life in America been for yoru wife?

Good to hear POE was good. I'm tryign to think of a good time to do it on a Saturday....I'm thinking early afternoon, but we'll see.

Most times I would complain that I have to pack....but not this time. Packing = living with my husband!!!

Nice. My huband's brother was born in Plattsburgh, when their father was in the air force. Where does your husband live? Will it be a long distance move when the time comes?

It was super fast! Very cool to see that stamp in it, I sent a picture to my hubby ;-)

POE will be Buffalo, NY...since Matt lives there, it is the closest to his house. Reviews for this POE are good too.

Just picked up my passport....9 more days til POE!
