Just got the text... APPROOOOVED!!!! That too on my nephew's 5th b'day!!!
BUT I'M NOT ready for NVC at all!!! I hope I don't waste too much time gathering info.
GOOD Luck to all yet waiting! I will try to keep gathering stats...
-
Thanks deepdawg.
correct me if I am wrong.
If around 12000 cases (according to your statistics) are in initial review and about 2400 in that are transferred (still the status as 'initial review') then the actual pending cases in 'initial review' would be around 9600. So
2400 is about nearly 20% of the total cases in 'initial review' which will not be processed by CSC.
Thanks
sim
Oops! yes you're correct... horrible, horrible math on my part

Deepdawg,
So if that is the case, I was wondering if the initial review (over 75% or around 12000 cases) in your statistics does contain some percentage of these kind of cases.
My understanding is that , the initial review cases for Jan to be handled by CSC (ignoring the 'transferred cases') would be less than 75% say may be around 60% assuming about 15% is for cases which are 'transferred to local office'.
Thanks
sim
Yes, I just checked the stats... of the 75% of cases in Initial Review, 2401 cases have been transferred to local offices (presumably the cases that you've mentioned). But that's just little over 2%.
Anyways, do not look at my stats too closely... Some cases' status is over a week old.

deepdawg,
Question :
I heard from one of the people I know is that his I130 petition was transferred a local USCIS office and is pending an interview (his is a AOS case). The online status for him is showing that the case is transferred but the stage is "initial review". So is it possible that some of the initial review cases (which are transferred to a local office) are no longer processed by CSC [but still show up] ?
Thanks
sim
Yes that would certainly be the case.

Cool! never knew about this! Thanks Davis!
Here's the link I found to search for your local office:

Deepdawg, where are you getting this information??
Thnx
Like I had mentioned before, I'm collecting it on my own by querying the USCIS site... It's been taking too long though, so I might abandon my attempts.

So I found these two threads, but neither of them were applicable to my situation...
In one case the non-USC spouse already hada 10yr visitor visa.
The other case the non-USC spouse was across the border in Canada.
My wife does not have a visitor visa yet and she's in India.

My wife's (Indian citizen) brother is graduating in May from college in the US. She wanted to visit his graduation if possible along with her parents.
Has anyone gone thru trying to obtain a visitor visa while the I-130 application is being processed? Is there any possibility for her to get a visa?
Any help would be appreciated immensely by me and my wife for sure!

CAN2US, some assumptions are made on my part:
The case# is of form WAC-xx-yyy-zzzzz
xx = year = 10
yyy = working day from oct 1st 2009 = 113
zzzzz = case# starting from 10000
Then I've written some PERL scripts to grab each case info from USCIS site and parse the info.

Check was cashed yesterday! There's a WAC reciept# on the back of the check. When I try to look up the case status using that it says case not found. Should I be worried?
Got my NOA1 in the mail today... It turns out that the actual receipt# is the one stamped on the back of the check plus 1.
Anyone else notice that? Has every1 had the same situation? or different? Just curious

I found these two links which talk about EP:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4409.html
http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4411.html
They say that its only available for Guangzhou, China and Montreal, Canada.
I guess the rest of us have to go the old fashioned way
