Hey everyone,
I wanted to post this also in the Canadian forum. I wanted to know if anyone had there case transferred to California Service Center (AOS I-485)? I read that usually when the case is transferred to California service center there is no interview and is there any other advantage? I haven't got my EAD or my ap. I need to be able to work. I filed for my AOS end of Sept.2010.. How long did it take to get your greencard? Thanks for your help!

The biometrics letter really depends on how busy your local office is. Where is your closest office?
Its in dallas. I already tried to walk in. I was denied. I hope to get some more help when I go for my infopass appointment.

Hey everyone,
I just called the USCIS and my case being transferred to California Service Center is a normal procedure. Rightnow they said it will take appox 5 months from the date I filed. So I will have my greencard sometime in Feb 2011. I filed at the end of Sep.2010. So I really need to get a EAD. I can't wait till Feb to work. I still don't have my ead. I'm going to a infopass appointment this week. I hope they are able to help me. AND stil no biometrics appointment!
This has been a long and stressful process.

Hey everyone,
I got a letter stating my case was transferred to the California Service Center, what does that mean? I live in Texas, so why is it transferred to California?
Please help

If your biometrics appt letter has not arrived by the time of your infopass, get a letter from them there , then cross town and try and do a walk in biometrics.
We went through Dallas, my husband got a bio appt for like 1 month down the road, he went to the ASC with that letter and they let him do his bio sooner than the appt time. We thought they were fairly friendly and flexible at Dallas.
Good Luck! Hope it all works out
edit---We went through the DORA program though.....i don't know if that makes a difference or not.
I have an infopass appointment this week, I will keep everyone posted. Thanks for everyones help and sugguestions.

hi, I got my ASC appointment today, it schedule on 12/30/2010, just let you know, i guess yours will be soon
I haven't gotton mine yet. I have an infopass appointment for this week. Hopefully I will know soon:)

no, if you don't have your appointment letter thay won't lrt you in to have your finger prints and photos taken, what is the suspense, did you move mabe the appointment was lost, did you try calling the 1-800-375-5283 or infopass, sorry thats happihg to you,
They mean its on "HOLD and unable to process" by saying suspense. I applied for expedite and they can't do that due to the biometrics. THanks for the well wishing. Its been tough. I booked a infopass appointment for next week.

You do need biometrics before AP will be issued. AP doesn't use the photo but I do believe you fingerprints are required for it.
Have you received your biometrics letter? I would print the letter from USCIS about processing biometrics and try again later today, or tomorrow. Tell them to call a supervisor or whatever but you NEED your biometrics done now. Take your NOA1 to show how long it's been since you filed.
Hopefully you'll get someone who is sympathetic. They usually can't process your biometrics without the biometrics letter but I did read a thread where someone at the girls local office was able to generate the biometrics letter there and then. Be insistent but polite. Ask to speak to the supervisor. It's a 10 minute process to do biometrics, not like you're taking up their whole day.
No I haven't recieved any letter for biometrics in the mail. I did speak to the supervisor and was very polite.
THis morning the office was not even full. But still denied. I would go now but does anyone know what time the office is open till???

Hey everyone, ** excuse my typo on the title. BEYOND frustrated is what I meant.
This has been a very frustrated day. I went this morning a 8am to make an attempt to do a walk in biometric app. I been waiting for over two months for my appointment letter. They denied my walk in. I explained I was trying to expedite my EAD I-765 and my AP I-131, but the answer was still no. I come home to check my email from US immigration stating unable to expedite and....
Your case is currently in suspense until you complete the process at the ASC for your biometrics.
I MEAN SERIOUSLY
. I feel like I'm getting the run around.
This has been a rough few weeks. Also I went ahead and did make a infopass appointment for next week. Am I going to have to hear the same thing from them...get your biometrics done?? DO I need the biometrics done to get AP.
PLEASE help!!

I was being lazy by not linking it :S
For example I filed AOS in April, so in the AOS progress reports forum there is a thread called "April filers". That's the best way to compare yourself and your progress to people like you.
Can you please help me by linking it for me. I can't find it on the website. Thanks soo much.
Thanks to everyone for your sugguestions and responses. I appreciate it.

Hey everyone,
I'm still waiting for my bio appt. I wanted to at least have my AP by now cause I wanted to visit my family. Is anyone in the same situation as me and already got there AP or BIO appt????
I'm just extremely frustrated.

Also what is the best time to go to the office and what should I bring with me? I been waiting for two months and I don't have my bio letter.
Thanks

Hey everyone,
Does anyone know about the biometrics address in Dallas? I was thinking to drop by cause it has been over 2 months.
Thanks
-
For those in Dallas, a few in our July filers group actually went down there and told the supervisor that they hadn't had a biometrics letter assigned to them yet. The person they spoke to got them one right on the spot. This is worth a shot if it's been over 30 days.
Yes I live in Dallas. I will try to drop in at the biometrics office tomorrow.
Thanks for the sugguestion.

If you file your EAD (I-765) and AP (I-131) application at the same time as the AOS (I-485 + I-864), then the fees for the EAD and AP are waived.
If you file for EAD separately, it's $340, and if you file for AP separately, it's $305.
Don't forget the supporting documents for the I-864. The I-693 is in a sealed envelope, yes?
Do you have a cover letter?
You may want to include a G-1145 so you can receive an e-mail/SMS that they received your package.
Yes I have the supporting documents for the I-864 form. The Vaccination part of the i-693 isn't in a sealed envelope.
I have it signed by the Civil Surgeon.
Thanks to everyone for your help.
Also, I'm using fedex to ship it. What address do I ship it to?????

As long as the EAD and the AP are in the same package with your AOS there is no extra cost.
What form is the AP? Is it the I-131 form?
confused about AOS case transferred
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

Hey everyone,
I got a letter stating my case was transferred to California service center. BUT when I got my email update, it states my case was transferred to the National Benefits Center? SO which one is correct? It has been at Lees Summit prior to this week.
So confusing.
