  1. Hey everyone! :)

I had a question regarding what name is supposed to be on your ORGINAL marriage certificate? I was told it is supposed to reflect my married name. It has my maiden name on it.

And also I never noticed before but they forgot to put my middle name on it. I live in Texas. I have to apply for ROC in a few months. What do I need to do????

    thanks!

  2. Hey everyone, :help:

I was super excited today when I got a email stating my gc was on its way this morning. Then this evening I got another email stating...

    Your Case Status: Decision

On February 23, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

What does this mean??? What is an ADIT process?? Please help

  3. Hey everyone,

  4. Hey Everyone,

I just got an update on my I-485. I got a case update in December stating my case was transferred to CSC and today I get a update stating USCIS. What does this mean? Will this delay my case? Or is the USCIS the same place

    as CSC???

    Confused???

Here is the what my email update stated.......

    Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

    Please help...

  5. I used it and had no issues. Just give yourself at least 2 hours to get through secondary, especially if you are travelling over the holidays. Took me almost 2 hours to get through on a normal, non-budy day. I went through Pearson Airport.

Yes Im going through Canadian customs through Pearson airport. Do I need to show anything to Canadian customs? I know on my way back I have to show US customs my AP document.

  6. It's okay, trulove. TBone's warning is not applicable in your case. His warning, although misplaced in this instance, refers to the problem of some pending AOS applicants being denied reentry for reasons they would normally have been denied. Nothing to do with your circumstances, however. Have a great trip.

Thanks Krikit! I was all stressed out! I went ahead and posted in the Canadian forum to get some experiences from fellow Canadians.

Merry Christmas to you and Happy Holidays!

  7. Hey everyone!...

I just need experiences from other members that travelled to Canada with their Advance Parole.

I have never overstayed in the US or any factors that could refuse me entry back into the US. I just want

some reassurance that travelling with an AP is going to successful. I'm only going for a week to Canada.

    Thanks!!

  8. This is a question from my previous post ..

  9. This may happen, but anyone seeking to re-enter the U.S. with use of the AP document is subject to refused entry on the basis of anything that the consulate or embassy could have found. The CBP agents can ask anything that they want, and use their discretion to permit or deny entry. Therefore, if the intending re-entrant has anything in his/her background that could cause a problem (a previous overstay, for example), it's best to wait until the green card is in hand before leaving the U.S., rather than seeking to re-enter with the much weaker AP document.

The above comes straight from an immigration attorney and from two CBP agents at different ports.

Well,I never have overstayed in the US or anywhere else in the world. Why issue a TRAVEL DOCUMENT thats approved to be refused entry?????

  10. Hey everyone,

I checked the mail today and GOT my AP document in the mail!!!

My question is what do I need to take with me to show Customs officers on my way back into the US??

My ticket was booked under my maiden name cause my passport is under my maiden name. My AP document is under my married name.

Should I have booked my airline ticket under my married name??????

    THanks soo much.

  11. Good luck! It took us nine days to get ours (see our timeline below).

We have Tim Horton's here in Ohio, so I always forget that they're not everywhere in the US. My brother-in-law is Canadian (well, was Canadian -- he's lived here in the states for quite some time and was naturalized last year), so he loves coming to Ohio for Tim Horton's, since they don't have them in Indiana.

    AJ

Thats cool yall have Tim Hortons. When I was in New York, they also had them there. Merry Christmas to you!!!

  12. If USPS loves you (and assuming the card is available), 2 business days.

But if the card hasn't been in production yet, it may be longer.

Yes the email states its been sent on Dec.14. So Im hoping I get it today! *fingers crossed*

Hopefully you receive it before you leave! If not you might want to find a trusted neighbor/friend who could send it to you in Canada (assuming you're traveling home for the holidays) so you can use it to gain entry back into the States. Good luck!

Yes travelling to Canada. Can't wait to have tim hortons. I can't believe how much I missed certain things in Canada!

  13. Hey everyone,

As yall know I been waiting for over two months for my biometrics appointment. I went to my infopass appointment and was told to wait for my biometrics in order to recieve my EAD and AP. It had already been approved for both but it was "being held" till the biometrics was compleated. So I went back to the Biometrics office AGAIN that day. I was able to get a appointment letter from them and got my biometrics done the next day. Today I got a email stating my EAD card was being sent me to me. So if your waiting for biometrics like I was, they will deny you a walk in Dallas. I tried and got denied. The best thing is to ask them to print out the biometrics appointment letter.

How long will it take to recieve my EAD in the mail?

This has been a long and frustrating process. So I'm glad that my biometrics is FINALLY done.

  14. Hey everyone, :star:

As yall know I tried to walkin for my bio appt at the Dallas office on WHITEHURST Drive.(This one is close to the galleria mall) I was denied of course.

Anyone have any good experiences at the OTHER Dallas Biometric office on South Westmoreland Road, which is in near Duncanville area. Has anyone tried to attempt a walk in at that office? I have been waiting for over two months and my EAD is on hold til I get my Biometrics done. ALSO some offices have a WALK in WEDNESDAYS for the biometrics. Is this one of those offices? I know the other office (WHITEHURST drive) isn't a walk-in.

    PLEASE ADVICE.

    Thanks sooo much.

    :help:
