  1. I have a question! I am trying to fill out the SSN form, and I am confused!!

My hubby is an overstay, we have not been approved for the I-130 or the I-485 yet. but he has an EAD card.. So is he legal or illegal? It says proof of immigration status ie I-94.. his is now expired

The Ead is good till next year, so what the hell do I check.. Legal and able to work?

UGGG.. I am so confused. Does he have to have a SSN right now, guess he better call his boss-to-be.

  2. :/ Gulp! yes i agree that does seem strange... i didnt know in Islam you could get a divorce and get married again.

In the catholic faith there is no such thing as divorce, well there is if you go to the Pope and really prove that ur wife/husband treated u badly which is very very hard/nearly impossible.

Anyway me knowing nothing about the Islam religion, it seems common sense that u wouldnt be able to get married again by the ur religious person if u were not divorced. Especially since u had a letter from ur religious leader. I think he will research this and understand it, reread the paper work and proof u submitted, and Im sure u will get that Welcome Letter in 2 weeks!!! :D

just sux u had more waiting! But u made it all this time, 2 weeks will fly by and u will get that welcome letter!!

    Hang in there!! (L)

Catholic divorce is easy. you pay 5k and file some papers with your preist and bam done. I was catholic as was Lily and Jared's father. Every Abrahic faith allows for divorce. Nothing in life is perfect. Once you divorce and time has passed (90 days in Islam) you are free to marry whom you wish. Marriage is how families come about. so if people could not remarry, there would many single people sinning.

I know ppl who marry get divorced and then because of the Church get married by the JP.. No one says they are not a legal married couple.. or that they are legit. There is seperation from church and state.

  3. Back. We have to wait.

Our interview was 45 min. Basic questions of how we met, and the I-485 questions. Went over the other forms.

The man said to us, I'll be honest Christine, it looks suspicious as you married 2 Muslims in the same community. I told him well there is only one or two muslim communities in Pgh. Over all the interview was good. I was honest with them about Majed. He asked me How do you know this man will not use you. I showed him all our couseling, and went over the Islamic contract with him. He asked if I had proof that my marriage was terminated in Islam, Which I don't. All the man has to say is I divorce you.. How can I have proof for that. I told him, if it was not Islamically ended the Imam never would have married us in the masjid. He said. Okay, let me investigate weither or not your marriage is islamically broken from Majed and then I will make a decision. He told us about how to lift conditions, and told my hubby he should get something in 2 weeks as a welcom letter. Or we would get a RFE about the divorce. They have the state divorce... I dont understand. God willing I will hear good news soon. Over all like I said this guy was very pleasant, he congratulated us on the baby. He also took the e-mail Majed wrote the other day.

Thanks guys, I will let you know when I hear something more.

  4. 13. I would select BIRTH. His mother was American. He did not need to go through Immigration to obtain status.. aka Neuralization.

    14. Write D/S

    20. They mean if your language is something like, ARABIC or KOREAN, using a script letter. If your native language is Nepali, then it is not ROMAN LETTER. Roman means.. A B C D E .. I put N/A here because my Husband though from egypt, his address was here in the USA.

    22. Closest INS office to you. For me it was Pittsburgh, PA

    G-325A- YOU

Again: if you speak Nepali, which is script and not basic A B C D letters, write it how you would in Nepal. My hubby and I did everything in English he did not write his name is Arabic script.. we received no RFE.

Where every you lived before you came to the USA. Write this address.

    G-325- Spouse

If his father's place is not considered "his Home" then you don't need to fill that out. N/A

    Select other and put I-130

    ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BE TRUTHFUL!

  5. Oh yeah, don't know if I told you guys but we got the EAD in the mail :).

We went over everything, and I have my binder ready. I ran down the list with my hubby of the NO questions.. He burst out laughing when I asked him if he was a prostitute... God help us!

For my fellow Muslims, tonight it the night of Mercy. Layla Baraah, I will be sure to keep everyone in my prayers tonight. ESPECIALLY those of us going to our interviews!

Hoping this 2nd time around for me is as easy as the first! I am prepared though for the tough questions I am sure I will get.

Alla, thinking of you sweety. I hope it went well. Hugs

  6. Wow guys, we are all coming into the home stretch! Thanks Krys for the update that everyone has their IL. I think our crew did very well, a few bumps and bruises but we have done a great job over all. FX for 100% approval for the APRIL FILERS! :)

Those with upcoming interviews.. try and relax  I know easier said than done!

How long after the production notice did it take to get your card? My hubby has a job waiting for him. Thanks guys.

  7. I got APPROVED! My interview was at 11:00 am. We got there around 10:45, went through the security. The guards found a scissor in Nana's purse. They asked her why she had it, she told them it for cutting coupons. She flirted with the old guards and was able to take the scissor with her. We waited till probably 11:25 for our names to be called. The interview itself lasted less than 10 minutes. All she asked for my was passport and documents showing joint assets and liabilities. That was it.

She told me I would get my green card in about 2 weeks. All that paperwork and anxiety for a 10 minute interview. Glad it's finally over.

CONGRATS HUN!!! Nanas are GREAT!!!
