I Thought is was a joke being April Fools day and all. But I just got an Interview date !!!!
Congrats Drew!
That's awesome.
Good luck with the interview.

UPDATE: I finally got through to a live person at NSC today to see if they recv'd paperwork and was told by CSR that it was there and they have not sent it to consulate as of yet and I must check back next week for status, also she stated that they will send out an letter to notify me when they send case to consulate...so we are still waiting
Great news. Everything is moving right along for you. Get your paperwork ready now for the interview, because things move extremely fast from now on.

Much thanks to you both. Dec filers are still way more fun than Jan filers.
Every group of filers needs a theme...as you have noticed, it really keeps everyone upbeat. You occupy some of your time with thinking about your theme and it helps you to cope with the waiting...plus we have a great group of positive, humorous people. All it takes is for one person to start whining and everyone else feeds off of their misery...that is counter productive. We need all the positive support that we can find.
Hang in there...April should be Jan. filers month.

Our ever knowing captain works in mysterious ways.
Maybe someone can help me out with a quick curiosity, but, when I have to fill out the Affidavit of Support, I'm going to have my step-dad fill one out as well because I'm currently unemployed. I do have money and savings, but my new job doesn't start until late April, so I've been cooking, cleaning, running errands, planning a wedding, etc for the past few months since I just graduated college in November, and cooking is no small task in this house when you have 3 teenage brothers who eat everything and then make a mess afterwards.
It helps my Mom out, but whatever. Both my Mom and my step-dad own their own businesses, and my step-dad makes over $100,000 a year (not to flaunt our money, he's worked hard to get where he is).. will that still be okay in the eyes of the govuhment? We'll be living with my family until we have enough money to move out, so he won't be a public menace or whatever they fear. We promise he won't go on food stamps, etc. Just curious to see if anyone has some insight.
I'm hoping April will be our month for approvals.. gooo, VSC, go!
You have nothing to worry about. The poverty level for 2 persons is 125% of $18,212 which is $22,765, so your step-dad is WAY over the limit.
Good luck with your journey.

Mark,
This number is not on the embassy website. I called it today and it was answered even though the Embassy was closed in Bogota and the secretary told me this number is to check to see if it is in the system only . No mention of Wed. 2-4 PM...Check it out.The only wednesday is to ask about case status . This number is to confirm they have entered in their database...And Maria did not get the pak #3 yet I had my guy in Bogota download it in advance and sit with Maria for 2 hours yesterday and fill it out with her . She is faxing it to them 3-30-10.
Drew,
I called the number today and the person I talked to said that I had to call back between 2-4 PM at the same number. I hate dealing with these government agencies, because you never know what answer you will get and whether it is correct. I called the DOS @202-663-1225 x1, x0 to talk to a live person and they told me that my petition arrived at the embassy last week and the P3 was mailed out last week also. They can't give you an exact date, but at least I know the P3 was mailed.
The Captain and the Parrot have done a great job keeping us on course to the Land of NOA2's and our near future journey to the Isle of Embassies.
Well, I have to climb the mast to the crowsnest and keep me good eye on the horizon for our next port of call.

Thanks so much, and Happy belated Birthday! How ironic, our fiancee's live in the same country and we share the same birthday. I hope that we ( you and mark and carol and myself) can have our interview dates close together. It would be nice to meet you all in person. Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it.
That would be awesome if we were in Bogota at the same time. We could go to dinner and talk of our future plans. If you have any other questions, just ask and if we can't answer then go to http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/175556-colombia-club-part-ii/page__st__1245 This is the Colombia Club Part II thread and they are very helpful.

I went ashore this weekend to spend some time with me ole mates on the beach for some drunken debauchery. I drank way too much Capt. Morgan's Spice Rum, so someone will have to take my place in the crowsnest.
Many congrats to all of those that received their NOA2.
C'mon VSC...the RUMRUNNER needs to continue it's journey to Isle of Embassies!!!

Drew,
Great, thanks for the number! The embassy hasn't responded to my email yet...surprising because they usually repond within 24 hrs. I'll call them tomorrow to verify that they received my petition. Good to hear Maria completed her P3 and faxed it. It's amazing that we wait for 3+ months on the NOA2 and the interview process takes less time.

I'm starting to worry our files got lost or something??
We recieved our NOA1 December 1st, and according to the USCIS website, it was last touched Dec4th.
I've been looking every day since then for touches or updates but absolutely nothing. I've also been watching Igor's list daily and it seems like people with dates well after ours are recieving they're NOA2's. What's going on!!??
Even the VisaJourney website says the Vermont offices are now up to December 23rd NOA dates.
Should I be worried? What should I do?? I've been waiting and waiting, but i'm starting to worry now that people with dates well after mine are recieving the're next notices while I get nothing?
Thanks everyone!
There is not much you can do now, because you are still within the 5 months timeframe. You can call VSC, but they will tell you that it hasn't been 5 months yet and that you should wait. I know it sucks and is difficult to wait, but stay positive and occupy your time by getting ready for the next step.
Good luck.

Can anyone tell me how far behind VSC is right now? I mailed my packet on 1-20, the check cleared on 2-10, I did not recieve noa1, but when I did a change of address on 2-22, they did an update on my case on 2-26. Nothing since then. Thanks
Bryan
Your NOA1 date is probably 2-10, when they cashed your check. If so, then you're about half way there and have another 6 weeks of waiting.
But, you might get lucky and receive before that time. It's best to over estimate your time, cause it makes the waiting a little more tolerable.
Good luck.

Mark,
She finished them today and she is ready to fax them in as soon as they have the file in their system. Thanks for the help with that on Sunday..
No need to E-Mail them ........NVC gave me the phone number to check on it..
011-571-315-0811
Drew,
I already sent the email today...besides, the embassy only accepts calls on Wed. from 2-4pm which is not convenient for me.
Glad to hear everything is moving fast for you. You will probably schedule an interview date before me, cause Carol has not received her Packet3 yet and I still need more info for the DS-230. I'm hoping to fax in her documents before April 15.(fingers crossed)

Just got a text and Email, we have been approved at VSC. Now what? LOL
I think all goes to the NVC next? Anything I have to do? Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Cary and Jim
CONGRATS!!
The VSC will forward your petition to NVC. In about 3 days, call the NVC to see if they received your petition and if so, request your new case #. The number for NVC was provided in an earlier post. NVC will then mail your petition to the appropriate embassy.
What you can do now is get ready for the interview...gather all your evidence and have your SO apply for police report and start completing the proper documents.
Good luck.

This is jumping ahead but what happens after we get approved at the interview (thinking positively here). I know we have six months for my fiancee to come into the country, then 90 days to get married, but... how long does he need to be here before we are married? How long once we are married will it be before he can work? What papers do we need to file for this all to happen. I have been looking and looking for this info and just haven't hit the right area I guess. I'm definitely gonna need more rum!
Thanks,
Candy
Candy,
This link will take you to the Guides page (top of page):http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides Under the heading of Work, Travel, and Becoming a Permanent Resident click on Adjustment of Status. All the info about AOS is on this page.
When you go for another pint, get me one too, please. Thanks.

The Embassy recieved my case at 11:30 AM today............
Great news. I need to email the embassy to see when they received mine...they should already have it.
How's Maria getting along completing the P3 documents?
-
Jim,
LMAO.
What a great form of birth control! My motto about children is spare the rod, spoil the child.
-
wow that video brings back memories of when i went to see them in concert....nice on on finding out that your case has been sent Jared...mine is in the UK now just making the last part of the Journey down to london
and the wait begins for packet three.
Jenine,
Me too...I saw them in Dayton, Ohio in the late 70's. Oops, I just gave up my age. I was amazed at how Angus Young shakes his head during the entire concert. I bet he has a migrane after every concert.
-
Hehe, I could use someone to stand by me as I keep dialing the NVC checking to see if they receive my case.. I love my iPhone because it keeps track of how many times I call a number.. We're at 45 now for the NVC.
What's on for fun tonight boys? Another night of drunken debauchery?
I vote for drunken debauchery.
Congrats Jared on the NVC finally sending your petition to Manila!
-
Thanks Mark! The sad thing is, all the videos I post are ones that I've seen.. LOL, I don't just do random searches for "cool videos".. I'm kinda like that guy who reached the end of the Internet from those AT&T? commercials. LOL
I'm hoping for good news from the VSC soon.. I mean #######, I could have driven it myself from Vermont to New Hampshire. Ah well, could be worse..
Mark did you see the other one off on the sidebar? Stand By Me.. (posting here in case you didn't) The first time I saw it, I had to watch it like 5x in a row.. Just beautiful..
Thanks Jared. No, I didn't see it...another great video and very appropriate. We all need someone to stand by us, especially during this tough time of waiting.

I have to trade in my modified Rubicon for a stock Chevrolet pickup!?!
Trip to Disneyland??? "Where is Orlando???" She has been asking lately...
Chayanne tickets in May???
...I might buy the Chayanne tickets as a special gift, 'cause she's more than worth it.
YJJbrBEZqy8
That's what I'm trying to avoid...her becoming americanized!
I've told my friends not to corrupt Carol at least for a little while...just kidding.
Fortunately for me, DisneyWorld is only a 25 minute drive.
-
NVC got mine today and I got our new case #...wooo hooo things are moving fast!!!
Matt
Congrats Matt! See ya at the NVC party in the Captain's quarters this weekend.

I don't mean to be terribly off topic, but I was hoping someone could help me out with a quick question. I looked on this site's search and USCIS's too, maybe not enough, but I was wondering how I would go about changing the mailing address of the beneficiary? He's moving house and while he could just ask the post office to forward anything to his new address (assuming we get approved and they need to mail the packets to him after he's already moved), I would rather it be sent directly. With USCIS's website I could only find stuff for aliens that were already living in America and so on. Any advice?
Thanks much in advance, and why not throw in another congratulations to all the approvals while I'm here, eh?
I couldn't find the answer, but call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to request that the address on your pending application/petition be changed. They should be able to answer your question.
-
Mark, it is normal to send you that letter.. They told me on the phone I would be recieving one after they foreward it to Bogota.
I assume they did not tell you the same thing...
I just saw the parrot crapping on a newbie crew member for sleeping on watch. The newbie took your pint and the Parrot got revenge in your behalf..
HAIL to the PARROT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This weekend is an NVC party in the Captains quarters for the crew members who are in NVC or out of NVC already...To the rest of the ship keep Drinking like we did and man the sails.. This is how you get to NVC as fast as we did..
PJ,
Many thanks to the parrot...I'll have to throw him some extra peanuts for disciplining the newbie.
I'll keep me good eye on the newbies...just kidding.
Looking forward to the NVC party this weekend. I suggest we invite the non-NVC crew members to the party only if they bring an extra pint and a wench!!
We don't want a mutiny on our hands.
-
Yes, VSC is totally tearing it up with K1's.. Don't worry, yours is coming soon..
Jared,
You've done it again!!! Another awesome video...you are the YouTube guru. That was amazing getting all of those people from some many countries together to make a video.
Hope you hear from NVC soon.

Thanks Panamajack,
My fiance has a son (13) right now but he will turn 14 before the interview, does he need his own separate DS-2100 and DS-230?
After the embassy receives your petition, they will mail a Packet 3 to your fiancee. The Packet 3 contains instructions, DS-2100, and DS-230 documents. The DS-2100 is the letter requesting an interview date and DS-230 is biographical info...almost exactly like the G-325A.
Send in one copy of the DS-2100 and two copies of the DS-230 to schedule an interview. You will need one DS-230 for your fiancee and one DS-230 for her son.
She can go to the DAS office in her city for the police report, but the certificado de migratorio has to be picked up in Bogota.
This link will answer most of your questions: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota. You can also access the the embassy website from this link.
Good luck.
