  1. Hi All,

Quick Question on I-864 filing for my Wife.

Do we need to submit 3 years Tax Returns and 3 years W-2 and Transcripts ?

Can we do 3 years transcripts. Is that enough ?

    Please Help Out.

    BR,

    Babaa

A transcript is a copy of your Tax Return that the IRS will send to you, if requested. If you have a copy of your Tax Returns and W-2's for the last 3 years, then make copies of each and send in. The IRS will send you transcripts if you don't have copies of your past Tax Returns.

  2. Thanks Jenine!

The letter just looks scary because it lists all the sh!t that you've already submitted.

    It'll be fine.

    Drew, Mark

Sail on my friends. The coast is near!

Thanks Capt. for your words of encouragement.

I think I see land on the horizon.

    Thank You Capt.

Mark and I were always near the same date. We had our Interview for visa approval in Bogota on the same day also so Hopefully Mark and Myself will be wrapping this up By March..........You surely must feel good it is over for 2 more years...

    Drew,

I keeping my fingers crossed that we can complete this voyage by next month.

Mark the letter just has a list of everything you need to bring with you.

Thanks Captain....what stuff did you take with you guys? Just don't wanna miss anything

    Jenine

    Thanks Jenine.

    Good luck with your interview!!

  3. We got our interview letter today, March 14th in Tampa....i think this letter was the scariest looking one so far...guess i better make sure everything is in order so i don't have to worry myself over nothing lol

Congrats Alex on the approval and fingers crossed for you drew that this part goes better for you.

    Jenine

    Jenine,

Did the interview letter request that you bring additional evidence or documents to the interview? Just curious, because we will probably receive a letter soon.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  4. Drew,

You'll have an interview. Not a big deal, really. It's going to be soon too, which is good.

Also, today we got an e-mail that GC production is ordered. Nice present on Daria's birthday :)

Congrats Alex!! What a great feeling to know no more paperwork for 2 years.

Looks like we will have to go the interview route like Drew. Oh well, our journey on the Rumrunner is near the end.

  5. Mark,.... I talked to a Tier 2 officer later in the day and was told it needs more processing..Thats why it was sent back.. CSC was unable to make a decision..

If the green card was going to be issued without an interview or additional processing I think it would have ben sent from CSC and not back to NBC in Missouri..Then again the way the chit has been going I would not be surprised if they strung us out for another month or two..When did you recieve that notice? I got an E-Mail and text 2-8-11 at 9:58 AM

    Drew,

Thanks for the info. We received the notice in the mail on Monday.

I hope that they don't schedule an interview...I'm ready for all of this paperwork to be over.

  6. Questions about AOS:HI guyS! hope everyone is doing well....we recieved our NOA1 for the AOS package exactly one week ago...i signed on to the USCIS.gov website and put our MSC# and it is telling me our case can not be found...? does anyone know why??

And we also recieved the hardcopies of the NOA's in the mail but it didn't come with the Biometrics appointment date does anyone know if they also send us something for that in the mail or do we get a text and an email first?

i would really apperciate you guys help i dont know who else to ask these questions. thanks so much! have a great weekend everyone! :)

We received an appointment letter for biometrics about 2 weeks after the NOA1.

  7. Got RFE'd today ugggh......this is so stupid! They say I need to submit a income tax return for the most recent tax year(2010). I sent in the 3 recent tax years statements07, 08,09...however Im assuming the USCIS looks at it like that I was fired or layed off and had no income for 2010. Im still working at the same job hello?????????? :bonk: I need to submit a statement from my company explaining my position and salary and etc.

Just wondering if I could just submit one off my sections of my 2010 W2 and this would be allright?

    Matt

    Matt,

Sorry about your RFE...that sucks!! I don't understand the USCIS. Some people breeze right through the process and others encounter problems.

It would be quicker to send one of the extra copies of your W2 and then ask your employer for the letter.

  8. Alex,

Congrats on the approval of the Green Card!!! Hopefully Daria will receive her card very soon and you can forget about paperwork for a couple of years.

    Matt,

Good to hear that you're still kicking and have moved on to the next step. I think we're all experiencing the same issue with the weather and our wives. My wife still thinks that she's in Colombia. She sees the sun shining and thinks that it's 80 degrees, when it's really 60. I tell her to walk outside before we leave the house. Someday she'll understand the change in seasons.

    Jenine,

Congrats on your perfect timing for receiving your EAD card!! Good luck with the rest of your journey.

Yesterday, we received the AP letter and EAD card in the mail...no email.:dance::dance:

Now, patiently waiting for Green Card.

  9. Hey guys...

One more update! Missuzu got her approval on November 4, she entered the US (I was with her) on December 27, and we got married on December 28! We are very happy!

Now we are finishing up the documentation for the I-485. I just have a few questions for y'all:

    1. So the $1010 fee covers the I-485, biometrics, I-765, and I-131 as long as I file all those forms together?
    2. Missuzu's DS-3025 says "incomplete" because some of the vaccinations are not applicable for her age... Does that mean that we still have to get certfication from a civil surgeon?
    3. What's the correct code for the Form I-765? (a)(6) for K1 visa holder, or ©(9) for adjustment of status applicants?
    4. What if we want the authorization to travel, but we really don't have a specific trip planned? It seems like the Form I-131 expects a set travel itineraty.
    5. If Form I-485 requires two passport photos and Form I-131 also requires two photos, does that mean we have to send 4 photos even though we are sending both petitions together?

    Thanks in advance...

    Norm

    Norm,

    Congrats on your marriage!!

    1. Yes, the $1010 fee covers them all. Double check on the fee amount...I thought I saw a change in the amount.

    2. Yes, you still need to visit a civil surgeon so they can fill out the I-693. Take the DS-3025 with you. You can download and fill out most of the form before the appointment.

    3. C9

    4. Make up a story and choose a date about 2-3 months from now, because there is no way that they can verify your story. There is a I-131 Supplement Part 7 form in Example Forms that you can use for your reason to travel.

    5. Yes, actually I think you need 2 more photos for the I-765 for a total of 6.

  10. Hello, I have asked this question before, but I also need some clarification. I need to know what documentation is required for a minor that will apply with a K-2.

I know he needs a birth certificate, medical exam and vaccinations. He shouldnt need the police reports since he is under 16. We are in the proccess of getting permission from the non-custodial parent. Does he need the imigration documentation? In regards to forms, I know he will need his own

I-134 from me. Are there any other forms that I can have completed for him before I get to the interview stage.

    Thank You

    Danny,

Try posting your question on the Colombia Club Part II thread. Diana is very helpful on this thread and will answer your question. Here is the link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/175556-colombia-club-part-ii/page__st__2610

  11. Hello, I am applying for my mother to come live in the US, she currently lives in Medellin. Around Dec 15, 2010 I learned that the case and paperwork had been sent from the NVC to the Bogota Embassy so the next step is the interview. They stated that when an interview slot becomes available and an interview date has been scheduled, the designated representative of this case (applicant, petitioner, or attorney) will be notified. However I was wondering if anyone has any idea how long the wait will be. Is it weeks, months, years? I am totally lost here. She wasn't scheduled for Jan 2011 and was wondering if it is going to take a while?

    Thanks,

    Cat

I'm not sure if filing for an IR-5 interview is different from a K-1, but it took us 2 months. I would think that her interview should be in February...no later than March.

  12. Just wanted to wish all a Happy New Year and good luck in 2011

I filed for AOS on December 16th, so we'll see how this part of the journey goes!!!

    Joe

    Joe,

Happy New Year to you also!! It's good to hear from you...been awhile.

Carol and I spent New Years Eve with Troy and Alexandra...had a great time.

I filed for AOS on Nov. 3rd, so we're waiting for AP and EAD.

Good luck with Valeria's AOS process.

  13. Congrats to everyone who have received good news!! It's good to hear that me mates ar completing their journey aboard the Rumrunner.

Our petition was forwarded to California.:dance: Now, we're waiting for AP and EAD.

Drew, The parrot and I loaded 2 kegs of Rum and a case of Bacardi's Cherry Rum onto the Rumrunner. So we're good to go for the holidays.

Everyone have a safe and Happy Holidays!!!

  14. Since the Nov 17th notice that our case was being transferred to California, we received another update today that:

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

So I'm guessing that means that California received it today maybe? I'm curious if anyone else had this same text update a week after being transferred to California?

    Jared,

It sounds like the first notice that you received was from the Chicago Lockbox location indicating that they transferred your application. The second notice was probably from California stating that they received and are now processing your application.

Just received email/text that EAD card is in production. Should receive within 30 days.

    Congrats MrTee!!

    Good luck with your interview.

  15. Any idea when she'll get her EAD/greencard?

From what I have seen in the past, the EAD arrives in about 2 months after filing and the Green card 1 month after that.

But, we've been through enough with the USCIS to know that it's a guessing game. Just when you think that you have figured them out, they do something to totally confuse you.

It would be an awesome Christmas present for May to receive her green card by Christmas!!

    Good luck!

  16. On November 17, 2010, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

    Still no EAD..

    Congrats Jared!

You have bypassed the interview process.

  17. Recieved SS card.. The day after you get the EAD go to the SS office and get the SS card in marriage name..Wait times vary..It depends on how long it takes USCIS to enter the info into the system..We waited about 13 days...

Yeh...basically everything is on hold until you receive the EAD card. You need the new SSN to add to bank accounts, mortgage, etc.

I think I entered the wrong number for the visa number, so we'll probably receive an RFE. There are so many numbers on the visa that I'm sure I entered the wrong one...keeping fingers crossed.

  18. It depends. Legally, he can wait to get one until he gets his permanent residency approved. But you may need it if you want to open a bank account, add him to your work's health insurance plan, file taxes and get his driver's license once he receives his work permit. If he decides to get it now, his I-94 needs to be valid for at least 15 days and it will say that it's only valid for work if he has his work permit. Once he gets his permanent residency, he will need to go back to change the status on his SS so he can get a card that doesn't have any restrictions on it.

    Diana

We applied for Carol's SSN when she first arrived. After we were married, we went back to change to her married name. Since her visa had expired, they said that we would have to wait until we recived her EAD approval.
