Hi VJ family,
it's been a while. i was looking for help for a friend. Her father filed a petition for her and her kids but on her kids' birth certificate her name is spelled incorrectly. Her first name is Colleen but is spelt Collean. Should this be corrected or is this not going to be a problem?

Just received the SS card! Finally! It's been a month since I made the request.
congrats Sachinky!!! GC next
-
I am glad that I came across this forum. My wife is feeling the same way and I thought it was odd. Now I know it is perfectly normal and I'll do my part to make it easier on her.
-
Hi Everyone! I have everyone beat. My wife came on the 15th of May and to date, no SS card, no welcome letter, and no GC.
-
Sachinky,
it is good to see that you are still around. only a few days before your flight to Chicago. I hope everything will go smoothly.

hey guys! I am loving all the positive outcomes this month. Yesterday at 4:20pm, my beautiful wife landed at JFK, my sister went to pick her up while I was preparing to surprise my mother who had no idea. It was a wonderful reunion, it feels as if my family is now complete. Thanks for all the support. She has to go back to Aruba to tie up some loose ends but she is scared to travel without the green card. so we'll see.......

APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was real hectic because they are so slow in Caracas but they were super nice and we are approved. Thanks VJ'ers for all the support.
Congrats to Sachinky and I am going to catch up to see if others got approved.
-
Congrats to Yohino!!!
Update:
I am currently in Aruba logging on to a free wi-fi at the airport and waiting for our flight to Venezuela. I am feeling optimistic and will be checking in from Caracas.
-
I love everyone here but I keep saying a special prayer for you bro. You are a very sincere person and I want you to get that friggin appointment already. Do you know anyone who is in a similar situation like yourself or was in a similar situation? maybe their timeline could be an indicator for your prospective interview date.

hey guys! I'm in the American Airlines lounge in Miami waiting for my flight to Aruba, so far no delays so everything is looking good for me to catch the flight to Caracas. Nerves are killing me, my wife said she isn't nervous but that could change and most likely will. I wish there was a VJer in the airport for me to talk to.
APPROVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!
said there were no problems - no questions - super easy!
:) yay! more in a future review. yay!!!!!
rest of the week 2 - good news is coming!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! I am so happy for you. Thanks for filling us in.
-
thanks Sachinky and everyone else for your best wishes. Have anyone ever accessed this site from their blackberry? I don't know if i'll have internet connection at the hotel but I will have my blackberry with me. I hope posting from it will be a breeze.
-
nerves are killing me!!!!! I can't focus on work. I was planning on calling out but I can't afford to give up vacation days. My flight plans are also making me nervous but it was the cheapest way out. Fly from NJ to MIA then from Miami to Aruba(with 3 hours to spare), meet up with wife at airport in Aruba and fly out to Caracas. whew!! Please pray for me for no delays.
-
the time is fast approaching and i cannot sleep. i'll be flying to Caracas on tuesday and interview is on wednesday. We are both nervous yet optimistic. My prayers are with all of the week 2 folks, GOOD LUCK!!!
-
thanks everyone! I do have a lot of faith in God that everything will be fine. When you want something badly, it is best to leave nothing to chance. I will actually be flying down for the interview as well, hopefully, I'll have internet access to inform this forum immediately. On the application the phone number listed for my wife is the number that is on the phone bills. We talk all the time, and judging from the bills, we talk too much.
-
Very nice!
this is why I love travelling and seeing the world. Amazing!!!
-
btw, should I be worried about the following:
I have not filed my 2009 taxes but did file an extension
I forgot to print the IV bill receipt and even though the interview letter states it is paid, they also said they wanted proof
and that's it. Also, should my wife bring another DS-230 application? or will they use the one they already have?
-
I believe BB & Tharnsur are a husband & wife.
Oh yeah they are! I am running on 3 hours sleep. LOL!!!
-
Congrats Vivek and BB!!!! YEAH, let the countdown of approvals begin. Now I hope Tharnsur updates us soon with some good news.
-
Well if it'll help, everyone on the list for the April interview was approved. The only person missing was Lashbanda, I think she's on her way to the U.S. as we speak or maybe too busy packing.
I posted details of my 3 minute interview here.
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/243248-april-interviews/page__st__210__gopid__3909128&
that's good. I am getting nervous and excited for everyone. I am compiling evidence as we speak. I have spent thousands in phone bills which should be evidence enough.
-
Hi Guys!!!! I have missed so much. I have been extremely busy with work, school, preparing for my trip to Brazil and Argentina and more work. Plus preparing for the interview with my wife, gathering evidence etc. Apparently, I have missed a lot. Congrats to Estrelladaniel on your interview date. I have one more week of finals and I will be free to spend a lot of time on this forum. Good luck to all and keep the faith!!!!

the letter is the same I believe for others country they said they have everything and when you get there they ask for everything.. per example the police certificate is valid for 30 days I sent one to NVC but at the time of the Interview this will be expired but in the list that came with the interview package it says that they have your police certificate and when you get there they ask for a new one..so if you dont have this with you they can give you an open cita or put you in AP...I prefer to carry with everything and not to come back to that consulate
now, I have to take a look at everything. Now my phone bill is up there in the hundreds per month because we talk so much on my landline and my cell. She is not the best with computers so she never did the skype thing. Would have saved a ton of $$$$$. So I have months of phone bills, pictures of us together, postcards, and we know everything about each other. can't think of anything else in terms of evidence, but now I aim to be fully prepared. I am flying all the way to Aruba, then from Aruba to Caracas to be there with her for the interview. I only want to do it once.
-
You might want to review the I-130 instructions again.
There's a section in there covering evidence, 6 different types.
Now that yer petition has wound it's way over, and yer getting an interview date soonish,
you really should re-enforce / re-work that stack of evidence, bring the 'updated stack' into the Interview on Interview Day.
If you can't find the instructions on the I-130, let me know, ah ?
ohhhh!!! thanks for the info, I guess I have some work to do.
-
Yes, still nothing. I will wait for a few more days. It won't be as bad as waiting 5+ long months to get the I-130 approved.
hi Newbie,
I did not wait on the NVC, I called the number off hours, and put my case number for the USCIS and the AVR gave me the case number.
-
What I want to know is if the letter do not ask for any evidence, do you still take everything but the kitchen sink? and for those tough consulates like the DR, does the appointment letter state you should bring evidence such as photos, bills, etc?
After 11 months, case transferred to Newark Field Office - what to do about no timetable?

I had a similar issue with the Newark Field Office. When they make you wait all this time it is because they are gathering a case regarding if the marriage was entered in good faith. You can get your passport stamped in the mean while but they will make you wait until they are ready. Be prepared to be drilled in interview but stand your ground if the marriage is entered in good faith. Good luck!!
