It's true. When I see your missive appear in a thread, I know the Sheriff was here and the law was laid down. Yet, I don't think anyone feels slighted, dissed, or humiliated.
The old adage, "It's not what you say, but how you say it," especially true for leaders.

I read it, and FWIW I thought it was respectful. That said, there's really no nice way to tell someone to buzz off. Men and women ending relationships have been trying it for years.
I'll miss the guy's posts here. I always thought for the most part they were intelligent and thought provoking, whether I agreed with him or not. Funny as well.

That's a good point. If someone is constantly offended by something they read on a message board by someone they've never met, they do indeed need to "grow up"
That seemed to work pretty well as far as getting everyone to cease and desist. Maybe that's the trick.

After seeing this I agree. I also think if you report someone, at least in our forum it should be public record. I think that would cut down on most of it. I also , like in the case today, The Mod asking first, might go a long way. I know the times I reported someone just to make a point, I would not have done it, if it was going to be public. I have only truly been offended one time in here.
A word to my fellow VJ'ers. Find they ignore button and use it. LuckyTX, I found out early on the two you tangled with do nothing but agitate and incite people, INMHO. I put both of them on Ignore a long time ago, because I realized all they tried to do was push my buttons. Heck it may be me . Oddly they are the only two I have ever felt the need to do that to. I don't say that as an attack and I don't mean it mean spirited, they may be fine people, just to me they never added anything and always seemed to poke at people. To others they may think i am the problem, fine put me on ignore

Did you even read the article? Did you comprehend why I made the comment I made? I think not -- what the father said was not the big problem, it was what he did. Let me help you -- the girl's father pushed that kid. It was bad enough he used a racial slur, then he doubled down and pushed the kid.
If you don't feel that protecting, defending, and standing up for a child is a parent's obligation -- fine, if that works for you. However, most rational adults take exception to an unrelated adult assaulting a child. The father should've let it be known to the kids parents If he disapproved of his daughter associating with their kid. That would've been adult thing to do and the proper way to handle it.

I just don't get some of the PC, uber sensitive bunch here. There are a couple of females here that I don't really care for their nasty attitude, mostly snarky comments, and the 'someone pizzed in my cereal this morning -- so I'm mad with the world' hostile tone when they post to even simple comments by others. But, I never report or exclaim how offended I am -- I just keep it moving or avoid engaging them.
Definitely more fun reading Kip's comments and stories, at least he was entertaining rather than confrontational and bellicose.

Precisely why you should lay low, rhetoric wise. Some of us get you and don't mind your style, but in addition to avoiding bumping against the TOS, there are some incredibly sensitive members here. Those that post in this forum and the passersby -- including a few of the fellas.
"Family friendly' is such a broad term -- so much could fall under that umbrella, therefore, I read a post 2-3 times before I hit the launch button.
