Just a question...what is the best way to send my additional docs and passport to Montreal? Canada Post Express? Fed Ex? UPS?
I just want to make sure that these are received by the MTL Consulate people. I will be sending the original docs.
Thanks.

Hi,
I really can't recall if I was told by the interviewer to send my passport along with the additional docs to be mailed in Montreal... ( i felt so disappointed when i got out of room 7 on that day...) would it be okay if I will just send it along with the additional docs?
please share your thoughts esp those who were asked for additional docs...
Thanks in advance.

Is the CENOMAR specific to citizens of a particular country or region? Just because I haven't heard of this either.
Hugs, I am from the Philippines. So, to answer your question, it's yes.
-
I'm not surprised you'd need some paperwork surrounding your marriage certificate, and your visitor's visa. I didn't know, nor did I'm sure anyone about the CENOMAR. Your situation is a bit unique. I'm surprised your lawyer didn't advise you on this. I'm sorry you were disappointed after your interview. Ensuring you get the correct paperwork to them asap means your visa will be sent back as quick as they're able. Best of luck!
We were so confident that they will not ask the CENOMAR because when I applied for marriage license in Halifax, I was just asked verbally if I am married or not and I told her I've never been married and then she just asked my passport. Got the marriage license a week after it was applied. Of course, US laws are different and from Canadian's in terms of applying marriage licenses.
Should we have known that they will need CENOMAR, i should have obtained it together with my police clearance and my birth certificate which the lawyer asked me to comply back in August last year.
But,again, we are still grateful that we are almost done with this process!!! The waiting is killing me!!! Hubby was expecting that I can be with him before V-day! It won't happen this year!
Thanks for the words of encouragement, helpful tips from all the members in this forum. I am really thankful I come to know on this site.

Monday was a bad day for interviews, they asked for more information from me to. Why dont you contact the washington visa centre and ask them exactly what is required, they are VERY helpful there, and have talked me through a lot of my panic moments. I wish you guys all the best though. He is such a nice man, and clearly adores you. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers while you struggle through this.
I agree with you Coraliesolms...
I saw him,too,mstangie..he got the letter A.

Got back home safe and sound.
I will try to write my review as detailed as I can.
6.45---waiting outside at the consulate building and we ( my husband was with me) were 6th in line..2 of the guys who were infront of us did not have an expresspost envelope so they went away to buy it...that's why we got letter D.
7.35--- the door was opened..after the security check, we were directed to go to the elevator where there was a security guard who waited us and asked our designated letters and ushered us to the waiting room.
8.45----I was called in window 11. She was nice. She asked me about my medical result, and asked about my status in Canada and told her that my visitor's visa got approved last Feb2nd and I am still waiting for the visa on the mail. ( Thankfully, I got my tourist's visa on the mail today and I am given 10 months to stay in Canada!!!). Did the fingerprinting and after that she told me to go back to the waiting room and wait for my name to be called.
9.55---- I was called in door 7 and when i entered the room, the lady examiner ( she's nice, too) told me to put my bag on the chair so that my hands are free to swear in ( I had tons of papers/proofs of bonafide marriage like chatlogs, call logs, etc ..etc..plus I had a scrapbook ( 25 pages magnetic album) and the xray film--there were put in a large plastic bag:-). After I sworn in, she asked me about my status in Canada,, i explained to her that I got approved, i am just waiting for it to be mailed and told me that she needs the prrof my my status.... few questions were asked about how i met my husband, where did we met, about our age difference and seemed like she was satisfied with my answers. She went outside the room and told me to wait for her because she will just get sheets of papers. wen she handed the papers to me, it was the refusal worksheet because I need to submit/mail my visitor's visa(copy), and Certificate of No Marriage which i still have to get in my home country. I she told me about the CENOMAR, I was so shocked because even our lawyer did not ask this document to us. The examiner gave me instructions on how to mail them and I left room 7.
10.10--we left at the building and walked back to our hotel ( La Tour---no indications that we were bitten by bedbugs--Monday night, the fire alarm sounded because the basement's hotel was on fire--not a huge fire though and we had to use the stairs..too bad we were at the 11th floor! We were outside the hotel building for like 10 minutes and then we just heard one of the firememn saying that we can stay at the hotel's front desk /waiting area).
Well, that's what happened on that day---
Hopefully, I can mail the additional document to Montreal next week. I already called my sister back home to get the CENOMAR and she will mail it to me on Friday.

I will post my review when I get back to Toronto...I passed my interview but i need to submit additional docs...

My interview was February 5th, and my mother and I arrived the night before. Took a quick walk after dinner to get our bearings so I knew how long it would take to walk in the morning.
Friday morning, we arrived at the Consulate around 6:30, and one couple was ahead..She was from Toronto and he was from California. My mom left to warm up about 7 and I was quite surprised that it was almost 7:30 before the line really started forming. A guard opened the door shortly asfter 7:30 and one at a time he checked our letters and passports and sent us to security. Just a note..when they say,`empty your pockets of everything` they mean everything, and are a little peeved if you don`t. I made it through security first, got my B and headed down the stairs to the waiting room. The A couple followed then a lady who was being petioned as the parent of a USC was letter C.. if there were any other letters, they never came in that lot. The guard came out, opened the elevator and off we went.
The view from the waiting room is stunning and it was a beautiful clear day...so you really could see all of Montreal. About 8 couple A was called to a room and they were back within a few short minutes. I was called next to Window 9 where a pleasent gentleman greeted me and the first thing he said was "did you freeze this morning?" He asked for my letter, Expresspost and medical envelope. He then proceeded to hand me some paperwork to confirm my name and birthdate, and then began going over all the paperwork, which looked like a big stack! He asked how we met and I answered World of Warcraft,..he then spent 3 or 4 minutes chatting about the game and what level of toons I had, how long we played...I had to grin... He asked me my name, hubbies name, where I lived, where hubby lived... when was my divorce, when was his, when did he propose, when did we get married....what does he do, where does he live..etc. He kept making notes and cicling things on the forms and then after 10 or 15 minutes or so he told me he needed to work on my file, go have a seat and he would call me back for finger printing. He was very personable and made me feel very comfortable. Around 8:30 I was called back and fingerprinted and then told to take a seat again. By now the room was quite full, but it seemed like everyone else except the 3 of us were other Visa`s as most went to the cashier and had numbers like A2, B3,C1 and D5...they mostly went to the windows lining the main waiting room and for awhile "A" couple and I watched as person after person began leaving on the elevator, wondering when we would be called.
Finally around 9 "A" couple was called to room 8 and about 10 minutes later, out they came with smiles and thumbs up. Unknown to me, they met my mom out on the street and told her, they had just finished so I should be out any minute. YA NO......
By 9:30 I was getting worried as other people were called to room 8 and then exited via the elevator, but I was still waiting.... I was sure there was something wrong..or they forgot about me..or or or
Finally 10:20 I was called to Room 7 where a very nice woman was waiting (in fact..she was about to go call me again, because after waiting outside from 6:30 to 7:30 and then waiting almost 3 hours inside, I finally broke down and headed for the washroom, which is where I was when lady "C" came in and said "quick they just called you!!!") She asked me to raise my right hand and swear thet the information given in my application and given by me today was the truth. Then the questions..
1) How did you meet? on line playing World of Warcraft (small grin)
2) Where did you fist meet? He came to see me in Victoria in the summer of 06
3) Where did we get married? Lakewood Washington
4) Have you ever had denials crossing the border? No..other than asking me for an A number, which I don`t have.
5) Have you lived anywhere else other than Canada since the age of 16. Nope
Thenshe says...." Hmm...there is one other thing..." and starts rifling through my paperwork. She pulls out this paper and smiles and says "Welcome to the United States of America!!" In true form, I BURST into tears and slap my hand over my mouth! "Oh my goodness", she said, "I do hope those are tears of joy!!!" I assured her they most definatly was and thanked her very much! She wished me well, and told me my Visa and Passport would be mailed out and I should get it next week, but she really cannot promise any less than 2 weeks.
All in all...other than the pounding in my cheast waiting to be called, Montreal was great! And one other thing that my mom and I noticed...people in Montreal are the most friendliest and helpful people we have met! Good luck to all those yet to come!!!
Thanks for the detailed review,Zans. I will leave Sunday afternoon.

Just got home from my medical in Toronto. It only took me 2 hours in total.
I arrived there at 8.05 and then the lady(A) at the front desk asked my appointment letter and while she's checking on it, she asked me if i have fever, cough or im pregnant. After i told her NO, she instructed to go to the waiting room.An hour after, I was called by lady (B) and was directed to go to that "registration door" where the lady © ( she is very pleasant and nice)who is assigned in there asked my passport, 3 pictures, my address, and my vaccination records and the $275 as well. She then instructed me to proceed to go to the xray room. I was on my way to that room, I met the Xray tech (lady D) who is very friendly and told me to go with her. It took us less than 5 minutes to do the chest xray. After it, she told me to wait outside of the x-ray room, after few minutes, lady (B)called my name and told me to go to the laboratory room. The lady (E) who took sample of my blood is nice, too. After it, she instructed me to go back to the waiting room. I waited for like 45 minutes . I was called again by lady (B) and we went inside to a room and she told me to wait in there and few minutes after, a nurse (lady F) came in and check my BP and my pulse. After we're done, she told me to get ready for the doctor's check-up (she instructed me to wear the blue paper gown only( for ladies--if you have your period, you don't have to take off your undies) and after giving the instruction she told me to wait the doctor and left the room). Few minutes after, somebody knocked on the door and this time it was the doctor (guy 1). He then asked me if i am diabetic, had psychiatric problems and etc..etc..etc.. I never had problems on those that he asked... he checked my immunity test result and my other vaccination record and scribbled something on the papers and told me that after he checked me up, I am done with my medical. He then checked my jaw down to the neck and then checked my back. A very quick check on my tummy part and after, he told me to remain lying down on the examining table for my breast check up. He went out of the room and lady
came in and did the breast exam. She then instructed me to get changed and she left. Last thing that i did was to see lady (A) at the frontdesk and before she handed a sheet of paper for the pick up sched, she asked me if I was asked by the doctor for further medical records to fax and told her no.
Overall, my medical experience was really good! Kudos to the friendly and nice medical staff!!!
opps, the flower icon there is for lady F ...
