I got this neat card with Rodeo Drive on it, though the sender realized at the last minute that the lights on the trees were actually Christmas lights! Blame the post office for the sticker; looks like it says "Beverly Hills" on it...

It's postmarked Los Angeles, but I can't match the signature to anyone on the list...

Whomever wants to take credit for it, thanks for the card! Mine for June has yet to be written, but it will go out this week.

Standard wait to receive the visa, if approved at interview, is 1-2 weeks.

I meant after the interview. I figure when someone goes for an interview, at any consulate, they should anticipate that they may need to submit a document or provide some further information. I don't think the interview is the end of the visa process.

So in light of that and the fact that it takes so long for them to get back to you, I was just saying a person should probably anticipate that they may have another 3 or 4 months they may have to wait before moving.

The last person I can think of that had to submit paperwork after the interview and has received their visa now is coraliesolms - she interviewed on February 8th, sent paperwork in March, so she "only" waited 4 weeks.

I had my interview on Feb 8th too. I submitted my additional docs on March 3, 2010 and got my visa on April 19th.

My card is going out tomorrow. Summer is the theme, so here's the closest I could get to the "Jersey Shore."

Waaaaaaaaaaaa...it's too late to know that summer is the theme for this month:(..my bad..

I sent mine yesterday.

So my postcard is on its way - was actually mailed out yesterday.

I was really hoping to find a postcard showing the miles and miles of kudzu that covers the South at this time of year, climbing up trees and poles and creating interesting 'kudzoo animal shapes' (like we used to see in clouds as kids). Alas, no success yet but I did find a good stash of local postcards at Walmarts. I had checked them before without success, but this time someone 'knew' where they were - they tend to be in a separate stand at the front of one of the cashier checkout stations along with local souvenirs. So, for those looking for postcard sources, give this one a try.:-).

I don't send my postcards out anonymously - and I think it would be really cool to get one from Nunavit!

WOO HOO! Next tues is "the day". I cant wait to be in my hubbies arms again.. I havent seen him for 2 years!!

I had POE'd in Pearson and it was easy and painless. I had to wait like 20 minutes at the secondary room as the guy did the paperworks.I had to the the right index finger printing(manual) 3 times because the first one was pressed too hard, and the second one was too slight and luckily, I made it right the 3rd time. The guy is so patient with me. No questions asked in the secondary room. After he's done everything, he told me the conditions of my visa, handed me the passport and the boarding pass and told me that I'm set to go!!!

My plane landed in LAX at around 9.15 last night. Feels great and wonderful to be HOME with the one you love!

Granting that i will have my visa tomorrow, i will book my ticket right after I checked the package so that I can get a flight the next day.

I will be having 2 checked in bags and my question is, do I have to make a list of the stuffs I have on the bags?

Any tips/advice esp to those who POE'd at Pearson will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think its almost harder now, knowing its on its way but in the hands of Canada Post! haha

I lucked out and just found it in my mailbox today, no notification whatsoever.

I've mixed feelings right now...and lots of what ifs...but these feelings will just be cleared out on Monday or Tuesday!!! Whew!!!

hugs, I did not get any notification that i'm approved! I am just so happy right now that I can track it.(been tracking it for 6 weeks)

I am crossing my fingers and my toes that I have my visa on Monday!

OMG!!!! I just got an email notification of my expresspost and it says tracking number000000000000 --item accepted at Canada Post Montreal!!!

I'm crossing my fingers that I can have it on the mail by Tuesday! There's a chance that I can be with my hubby for his surgery!!!

Went to the mailbox this morning, and found my Xpresspost stuffed in there good. Tried to get it out and it ripped. What fell out? My Visa! Yay!!!

Surprising that I got no email notification, and didn't even have to sign for anything...but overall just relieved that it finally came, and didn't even need to call a congressman! To recap, my interview was in the first week of January where I was denied, saying I needed more proof of establishing domicile, and after gathering more evidence, sending it to MTL on Feb 17, almost 8 weeks later I got my packet. Lots to think about and plan this weekend...can't believe its finally here and official!

My hubby contacted his Congressman last week. Yesterday I made a follow up call and the office's staff that I spoke with told me that she just emailed MTL. We will give her a call on Friday.

I am thinking of emailing Montreal today since I'm on my 6th week today after I sent in my additional docs.

This is not fair! When I was asked for additional docs, I had to obtain them the soonest possible time so that I can send them in right away hoping that after 4 weeks, we can hear something from MTL or the best part is when we track at canadapost,it'll say --out of delivery!!SIGh!Sigh!
