Does anyone know why the CO told my husband he was approved for his visa in Cairo Egypt but they gave him his passport back and said they would call him within 1 week to send back his passport to Embassy? This confuses me very much if he was approved why wouldnt they keep his passport. Anyone know why? Thanks

first i wish with all my heart they call him soon asking for his passport then give him his visa shortly ,, well about your question i dont know for sure excatly why they didnt keep his passport but for what i hear when they didnt keep it they put the case on AP or AR but dont worry i dont think it will take longer also call the DOS they will tell you excatly what the statue of the case , they kept my passport on my interview but even like that they put me under AP but really didnt take longer time then they issue me the visa also i missed one paper work which was my wife divorce certificate i believe it cause the AP for me but i think more on your case they put it on AR thats why they didnt keep his passport but inshallah it won't take longer and soon they will call him asking to send his passport to them , best of luck to both of you , have a good one .

Mounir, Ayman bought his ticket from a travel agent in Egypt. It was much cheaper than what we could have gotten online. He did get a round trip ticket but was refunded the money by Egypt Air from the trip he didn't use. It just took awhile to get the money back from them. I would try and stick with an airline that you do not have to switch in the middle of your trip. It will be easier on you. Like flying Delta, NWA or such. If you took Egypt Air, you will have to change airlines at your POE which wouldn't be impossible for you and they help it's just a pain to schedule the flights at times and keep up with things.

I wish you the best in obtaining your ticket. California is a beautiful state and the weather is very mild there compared to where we live. Ayman would be jealous to know you wouldn't be freezing like he is right now! LOL

yes Aym i was thinking of that truly i was so worried about switching another one at my POE cause i know well how hard its also with the time to look at my things for the imgrant stuff so yesterday i went to lots of travel agency to asking about prices and flights but was almost the same price which we saw on the internet so we both still looking out to find a good one if not so no way to wait till the middle of Jan cause at this time the prices is so so less and i can take such as Delta, NWA or other good one ,, tell Ayman my big regarde and dont feel jealous lol i would love to invite him to visit i meant that, you know Usama my friend live in Boston and told me that same (man you lukcy to be in Cali there is no snow and freezing like here hahahaha) thanks for your kind reply wish you both all the good luck and happiness always .

that didnt happen to me they kept my passport on my interview and asked me to show the pictures as a proof but yeah i heard lots of people they didnt kept their passport and call them later asking for sending it back to the embassy it's normal with cairo embassy ,, inshallah your husband will hear good news soon and come home so soon , best of luck to you .

mounir, at your port of entry all you should have to fill out is the usual customs form, declaring any items of value that you are bringing with you. it will have your personal information on it, your flight number, your passport number, things like that. i believe you also have to fill out your I-94, which they will staple into your passport when you go through immigration. as for the address, i would put the address that you will be staying at, and like the previous poster said, if they ask about it, just tell them that your wife recently moved.

hi mounir, i think about the port of entry address, just put the address your wife has when you will arrive, even if it is a new address. If they ask you at POE, you can tell them your wife just moved. Also you should update USCIS with your new address for your greencard and any other time you move in the future.

By the way, we live in Rocklin, California............if you and your wife live near, then let us know, we would love to stay in touch with you both!

Also, where in Egypt are you from? Ahmed is from Sendawa, a village near Cairo. We had our honeymoon in Egypt for 1 month, i loved it so much, we wish to buy a flat in Cairo in the future to have a vacation home each year

She says you can go directly to to the airline like '' Egyptair - Delta '' not to discount sites like '' Expedia -cheaptickets '' .and she says it might be cheaper if you book a round trip ticket instead of one way tickets and i agree with her .sometimes its cheaper when you book a round trip ticket instead of one way ticket .

And my thought to you is try to go to a travel agency in Egypt and you can a better deal and so much cheaper than on the internet .

I thought when I met him in the airport and I had our daughter I was nervous and excited, but now I know that that was nothing lol.. I am sooo very nervous but excited too bc of the possibilities.. He is ready! Hes really good on the questions and we have all the papers.. Now its just up to the interviewer, which scares the ####### out of me more than anything!! Inshallah everything will go smoothly and he will get his visa with no issues! AP im sure he will get it, but praying for no denial at least!!! Please everyone if you would send your prayers our way! We need all we can get!!
