  1. I just wanna be with him, so I decided to forget about the wedding... Maybe when we're together, if we can afford anything, fine, if not... i'll still be happy... Dont want anything fancy anyway. I do have a song for us... for our first dance... wherever that will be... and its the most perfect song in the whole world... Id love to get married on a beach, but i guess nothing is that important.... I just wanna be with him.... We were talking about him coming to the interview..... i guess it depends when the interview is... Would be nice to fly back with him, would be great if he could come here meet my family... i guess we will see... I just feel like crying this morning.... i know its still soon for NOA2, but.... cant help it....

I thought I was the only 1 who feels like crying when I think about it. But maybe this will make you feel better:destination weddings are great when it comes to having a small intimate beach wedding. Most of all, it's also very cheap compared to having a wedding here in the US. For instance, I researched, emailed and got price quotes from atleast 5 different resorts in Jamaica and it would cost me $3500-10,000USD for a wedding and a reception for 30 people. Also, you get a discount if you're honeymoon is being spent at that resort as well. Just makesure you let them know you're looking to have a budget wedding or else they'll quote you top dollars.

  2. Yes to what everyone else said. BUT also keep in mind that there are situations in which this process can be expedited. I'm not sure how though. So open a new forum titled "how to expedite:fiance in danger." I'm not sure if you send in the request to expedite after you file OR you can send it in w/ the petition. Please research this info ASAP so you can send in those papers. Please be polite enough to keep us posted on the going on's because someone else might be in the same situation and needs help. Goodluck and start posting that new form and researching or call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283

  3. Mathew and I have jumped straight in. We've given it enough time to be approved, but that's still no guarantee. So we're taking a risk. But we've booked our venue, photographer, bought my dress, shoes, some decorations, and booked our honeymoon. I just recently went shopping for bridesmaids dresses with my maid of honor. Some people will argue that it was dumb for me to do that, but I did it and I'm glad I have! June 26th, 2010 can't come quick enough!!!

LMAO(laughing my a** off) toward giving up a pinkie and a little toe for an approval. I wonder if VSC/CSC workers know about this website, and if they do, what do they do when they visit here. I'm sure they're laughing at how desperate I am, and we all are for our NOA2. If so, it seems as if they stopped laughing this week and started doing approvals, hopefully they'll keep it up. By the way, I'd give..... my pinkie and his little toe!

I'm gonna go ahead and say that this website is the reason they don't do many approvals in one day! They're probably sitting at their desks laughing their butts off about all the posters here!

ha ha, I agree with you on that one.

  5. Now that I know that it is possible to be approved in the middle of the night, I won't ever be leaving my computer! Here's to hoping I get approved at 9PM like you guys.

Guys, with an approval @ 9pm and the fact that it was checked half hour earlier with No change, doesn't that tell us that the system doesn't immediately update after a touch?? I'm most certain that VSC is closed on nights and weekends. Also, what is all this talk about "expedited?" Who, what, where and how???

  6. Ok, I'm not sure if a any1 is aware of ALL the additional information that the consulate is asking for us to take to the interview. Some1 who was already interviewed was nice enough to give me a heads up. So here goes: we need forms such as ds-230 (part 1), ds-156, ds-156k and I-134; we also need a police record, medical and a no-imped, which is a search to see if either parties were ever married. We also need tons of passport pics, around 12 and original copies of birth certificates, oh the most vital, a valid passport. If I, or anyone finds additional information on what is needed after our NOA2, plz post. In the mean time, you guys should start saving and doing research on how to get these information that they need before we get the actual visa so we can be prepared to pass the interview as opposed to being rescheduled due to insufficient documents. And lastly, if you can make it to your interview with your fiance, GO! They love to see both parties together. Good luck to everyone and lets all hope and pray for a smooth and speedy approval.

Keep in mind that this really varies from consulate to consulate. There is a section here called Embassy Info, make sure to go there for what is required from the consulate in your country. And this can vary by the time we are actually going for the interview.

Ok. I went and looked at what my country required and it listed all that I posted except that the waiting time between approval at the interview to receiving the visa is 2 wks, not true. Also, it listed that the waiting period between receiving the noa2 and packet 3 being sent to my fiance is 2 months, absolutely not true.

I believe it is based on what other people posted, the times may be off depending on what people posted of their own experiences.

Oh ok then... well, I'll still be checking my case status 24/7's and this thread as well to see if and when a september filersI've gets approvec. Good luck to all.

  9. Hello Visa Journey Friends,

My Mexican fiancee and I got about half way through the fiancee visa process. Apparently our file has already been sent to the American consulate in Juarez, Mexico.

However, because of my fiancee's developing business, we are now planning to make our primary residence in Mexico for at least the next several years. I will move to Playa del Carmen, Mexico in November and we will be married there shortly after.

My question is who do I advise of the change of plans? Would that be the American Consulate in Juarez? Will this affect us if we decide years down the line to move back to the states? I realize that would be a different visa process as we will already be married.

    Would appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Sherry

Ok, quick question before I answer your question: why would you file for him if you're moving there???

I'm no lawyer but I know enough to survive. Now, if and when he gets the k-1 approved, he would move here, marry you here, then proceed to getting his green card. As a green card holder, if I'm not mistaken, you can't just leave for a long period of time. If you do, chances are #1: you won't be approved to renew your green card or #2: you won't be eligible for citizenship. Basically, the government doesn't like for you to be out of the country for more than 6 months at a time because that means you won't be paying taxes... and you don't wanna mess with Uncle Sam. so I suggest you don't even let them know you'll be moving there after he gets approved.

  10. Each day I see the anticipation, excitement, and the frustration in my sons face it is sooo heartbreaking. I can't begin to imagine what it feels like to be so in love and be so far from being able to reach out and touch the one you love at any given moment of the day. Not to be able to share all the wonderful daily things together from the start. It just seems so unfair. Then I look on this site and there are so many out there going through the same agonizing pain. I hope the centers are speeding up and everyone gets to be with thier love quickly. Good Luck to each and everyone of you.

That is so nice of you to say. Yes, it's so hard being away from the one you love. We check the USCIS website everyday hoping someone will have touched our petetition and knowing that many of us may spend the holidays alone. Your son and his fiancee are very lucky to have you!

Thank you for your kind response. It is actually me that is lucky to have them. ;) I just can't wait to see them together again. I can't wait until all of the filers get thier wish and are reunited.

I see how we're all getting excited to recieve our NOA1 when it's only notice that they've received our petition. BUT, the good part is... as a september filers, we should recieve our NOA2 by christmas. So that'll be happy news for us for the holidays.
