Mattfromcanadaeh: yes, I haven't received my NOA2 yet... Sweetheart, you're not the only one that USCIS is driving crazy. Take it easy and try not to stress because it's just one a those things that we have no control over.

Guys, I have a personal question.... It's a decision that me & my love should make but I'd just like to hear you guys opinion since we're all on the same journey.

Okay, here goes: I'm going to Jamaica to see my honey for 2 wks, we're spending christmas AND new years together.

We plan on trying to get pregnant while I'm there.

BUT, I'm having 2nd thoughts bcoz we haven't gotten our NOA2 yet I'm not sure how long this whole process is going to take before he's here with me...

My point is, I'd hate to go through pregnancy and even worse, delivery without him.

What do you guys think?

Hi, I've been wanting to reply for the longest but just was just watching/reading what others would say.

I'm a september filer for a k-1 and in my forum that I join, almost everyone but 4 or so, received their NOA2;; even people who filed after me and some even received theirs in 2 weeks. It kills me that it's not first come first serve.

Unfortunately, immigration are government workers and they suck when it comes to doing their job on time and making clients happy. So.... we don't have much of an option other waiting (which can be heart wrenching and frustrating) and calling them, eventhough we get a different answer and reaction from each call.

I'm one of those who's viewed the post and hasn't responded. Why? Because I don't known what a info pass is, please fill me in....

As john_and_marlene quoted: there is currently no path for him to become legal without first leaving the US and coming back legally.

For those of you who think what he did was wrong, seriously get a life, he did it already and did it for a good cause so now isn't the time to judge. Advice was asked for not criticism!

If u marry him it won't make a difference now; right now there's no way out for illegal immigrants who entered illegally. I know this for a fact and personal experience. All in all, you have 3 options:let him stay and pray he doesn't get in trouble w/ the law; let him go home, wait ten years and you try filing for him, if you choose this option, it'd be better to get married then send him home; and lastly sit and way for some sort of immigration amnesty to be passed.

IR5FORMUMSIE: yes what they did was wrong, I'm sure they know that by now. However, if and when you're in love chances are that you're so caught up that you barely think. As to your statement about other people having their loved ones back in their country, it's hard to do so. My fiance is in Jamaica and I travel there 4 times a year just to see him; we filed for a k-1 and is awaiting our approval.

Just got to Hong Kong about an hour go.. got to the hotel called Fuat, and then came right to VJ to see if there was any good news from yesterday. I am on the other side of the world and this site is still first priority (OK.. second next to calling Fuat

I'm exhausted after the 24 hours of traveling..two flights with longest flight being 15 hours UGH! Sure makes my flights to Istanbul seem like a short trip down the road.

Most of you are still sleeping... but when you wake I hope you have a great Thanksgiving! I'm off to bed soon (it's 8:00pm here) and need to sleep a little before I get out of bed at 3:00am to get on the web cam with Fuat. I am crazy... and when he finds out what time it is for me he's going to be upset.. but he's worth it

Yes... but then it has taken longer than that just to go from NVC to the consulate and then getting an interview date. Some people wait a long time for NOA2, but then everythign else flies. I got NOA2 so fast.. but people who got it after me already have interview dates. It all kind of evens out in the end I think.

JennFuat:not for confrontation but I don't think it evens out, maybe I'm saying so because it's been two months and haven't received my noa2 yet. I also depends on how fast you return the forms/papers they request after the noa2. Anyhow, at the end of the day, wheteher the journey is long or short, it is still frustrating, heart wrenching, COSTLY and I could go on and on but later for now.

Yes, AR and MD some people actually do get through sme steps faster than some, he might've had a quick noa2 but he may have his interview a long way from here. (Not to jinx you Oobatnep, just giving an example)

I seriously need to be thankful for other things that God has blessed me with. The past month has been hell:I was out on disability then receievedthe 1st check and get robbed of my wallet the same night! I felt even more down when I didn't recieve me NOA2 but 1. The culprit briught my wallet back! 2. He stupidly deposited my disability check into an account! and 3. What do you know, I saw him inches away from me at a car rental place and was able to get the FULL license plate number oh and 4. I passed my graduate writing exam so I can graduate now with a certificate and associatedd in human services! So happy!!

I believe I'll get my NOA2 when I least expect it. In some ways, the delay is in my favor since I;m strapped for cash due to the recent happenings AND I'm going to see him for the hollidays! $$$$$$$

So all in all, I might not have gotten everything I wanted but I am thankful for ALL the other good things God has blessed me with.

Evevryone, have a wonderful Thanksgiving, stuff your tummies, sleep and wake up 4am to go catch those sales!

Guys...Thanks so much for all the support and well wishes in hopes of my NOA2. However, (not to sound negative) but I think I'll be 1 of those cases that actually wait the (average) 5 months for a NOA2.

AandD: Smiled. I'm NOT calm, I'm a nervous wreck; have a horrible attitude and blow things out of proportion! But I just think to myself that I'll get it when I least expect it and that they're saving the best for last. It hurts like hell to see ppl who filed after me are getting approved but none the less, I'm happy for them and the more ppl get approved, the better my chances are at getting touched/approved.

I can't complain to USCIS as yet because the average wait time is 5 months and I (surprisingly) survived 2 so far so I guess a little longer won't kill me and will be well worth it.

Hi guyz.. i really want to make sure about this one as I am confused. I am still waiting for my passport with visa so I am checking for some cheap tickets and travel agencies I can go. However, my mom is flying from Manila to Houston via Narita, Japan (JAL and Continental airlines) and she wants me to travel with her. Me and my fiance will meet there in Houston.

Anyway, does the K1 visa have restriction in entering a non-US territory? Will it cause a problem when I reach the Japan Airport if I will be getting the MNL-NRT-HOU flight? Since K1 is only a single-entry visa and that I will only be buying a one-way ticket...

Please share anything you know about this. Thanks so much.

In my last 2 trips to Thailand I used priceline.com but it couldn't be used for her trip BKK-NYC because it's restricted to US departures.

One site you could use would be "sidestep.com" - I've used them a lot in the past and they are a "travel filter" that doesn't sell tickets

but sends you to the airline or orbitz, travelocity, or wherever to buy the ticket.

On my last trip to BKK I flew Emirates and it was under $1000 round-trip.

Emirates is in the midst of a HUGE expansion and their fares are correspondingly low to try and snatch market share.

If I were you, I would NOT do that; especially if your connecting flight consists of you changing planes. Some people might be lucky enough to go thru w/ no problems and on the other hand, airport workers CAN give you a hard time even when it's not necessary. Becareful where you get your information from and inquire more than 1 source; such as official government sites, embassy and travel agent. Their answers should match. Goodluck.

Does anyone know the number for DOS? I know they can tell me if our packet # 3 was received by the consulate, and if an interview date has been assigned yet. I doubt a date has been assigned, or I think we would have heard, but I would really like to find out if the packet Fuat sent on the 18th has reached the consulate yet. I emailed the consulate, but go no answer.

I know the number for DOS was in one of the threads on VJ.. but now I can't find it.

We faxed back our packet 3 the same day (the 19th) and DOS doesn't show that they have updated our case yet! UGH!!!!!!

I called and talked to a very nice woman.. thought maybe "packet # 3" was VJ thing.. so I was saying something like.."I am calling to find out if our DS documents and I-134 have reached the consulate yet." She responded with" Your I-134?" and I said.."Yes.. I have filed for a K1 visa and we have sent out documents to the consulate and now we are waiting for our interview date. I am hoping you can tell me if our documents have reached the consulate?"

She said.. "OH you mean packet # 3!"

Well.. the good news is thanks for the phone number.. the bad news is that it's not there yet. It was sent one day delivery.. last Wednesday.. Fuat is a little freaked out and so I am I. We've had a run of bad luck with things lately, and this would be the icing on the cake if the packet doesn't reach the consulate.

I am really stressed out.. called UPS to see how long it should really take to go from Istanbul to Ankara.. they couldn't tell me. Fuat says the guy he gave it to said it would be there the next day. Is it possible it's there and just hasn't been registered yet??

I don't need any more stress... really, I think all of this is much worse than waiting for the NOA2!

don't freak just yet... Naples had my package for a week before they entered for DOS to see it, and we faxed the packet 3 info back on the 19th and it is not showing in DOS's system yet.. I think Naples and Ankara are due for many, many calls. I am sure they have it and just haven't entered it. I think they are due for a fax or two of the fax confirmation sheet as well..And check this out.. I have to call Naples, because they charge Antonio 15 euro before they will say "boo" to him.

Ankara is the same way.. Fuat has to go to a bank and pay $20 for a pin number that will allow him to call the Consulate. We couldn't fax our documents though. They had to be sent by UPS.

I emailed them on Thursday, to see if it was there.. emailed again on Friday.. DOS actually had a record of my emails to them!! But I go no response from them.

The woman actually told me I had emailed to ask about this on Thursday and Friday.. they record EVERYTHING

Grrr... I am leaving the country Wendesay morning and at least want confirmation that it's there before I go.

Hi there, sorry not posted for a while its been sort of crazy but I have been monitoring the forums keeping up with everyones progress. I too am suffering with frustration with the lack of approvals out of CSC lately but unfortunately nothing we can do about that but wait.

One of the things I did want to share was that I decided to take a gamble and spend a few weeks with my fiance in the US, so I am happily writing this from what will be our house in not so sunny Ohio. I had been warned that I may face problems with immigration and that they may not even let me into the country but I entered the US in Chicago with no problems at all, just the standard entry questions of what are you doing here which I answered honestly and how long I was staying.

So I arrived last Thursday and most of the weekend has been spent shopping for furniture etc for our house (you know guys they have no taste so having to add the feminine co-ordinated touches, also its a chance for me to meet with some contractors to get some work underway which can be completed when I return to the UK early next month.

The one thing I would say was this visit was so needed, there is just so much time you can spend online together without some element of frustration or even boredom happening due to time differences, the demands of day to day life and just energy levels.

Anyway just wanted to add my experience and I guess its back to waiting for CSC to start cranking out those NOA's

I hope you have a great time and get a lot done! I lived in not so sunny Ohio for 15 years Just be thankful you don't have snow yet.. and if you don't like snow, I hope you will not be living in the "snow belt".

I have so many things to get for our house too, but decided to wait until he was here so that he could have some say in what's in the house. I want it to feel like he is in HIS house too.. and not just moving into mine. I think it's great that you have a chance to be able to do all that before you make the move!

Still hoping and crossing my fingers for a NOA2 asap but I've finally come to accept that 'nothing happens before it's time and everything happens for a reason.'

I waited 2 days from approval and then called everyday... but talk to someone, just like Jenn said they do not keep track of k-1 in the automated system... in other words dont make the same mistake as me.

kjenkins86, don't worry about it. Keep it up. Yours is coming, too. No one could have worst luck with USCIS than myself. I havent' heard anything from VSC either. The only thing that keeps me going is that I am going to see my girl on December 4. I just hope to be approved by then, but if not, we have to continue to wait. What else could we do? I called USCIS and I explained that I haven't even been touched and there are people who filed after me that received their NOA2; he was really nice and just explained that the average wait time is 5 months so just hold out a bit. Not what I wanted to hear but there's nothing I can do about it.
