  1. I know everyplace is a little different so I can only tell of our case. We were Vietnam K-1.

I sent a Cover Letter with the I-134 that listed the following:

    1) Past two years tax returns (07 & 08) with schedules attached and w2's. (I didnt do transcripts - just copied my returns that I had on file from online filing)

    2) Letter of Employment, stating my salary, length of employment (start date to present), position, status (full time). (My employer also included a comment that I am a valued member of the company - I thought it was a nice touch)

    3) most recent 6 months bank statements

    4) most recent 6 months pay stubs

    5) and of course the I-134

I had the cover sheet with my signature notarized with a statement that I certify that all documents included are true and correct.

We had no problems or issues with what we submitted.

    Hope this helps!

    Bernie C,

You are off the chain you give great information.

  3. Alhamdulillah, Houssain’s Visa was Approved! “Happy” cannot begin to describe what I feel right now! I keep thinking, “Is this truly happening?”, it almost doesn’t seem real. He goes to the consulate tomorrow afternoon to pick up the Visa. We haven’t really discussed yet about when he will be coming and all the details. I mean, he just called me and told me 2 hours ago, so we will talk about all the arrangements over the next few days, insha’allah.

So here’s what happened: His appointment was at 8:30am. He showed up at 8:15am. They called him inside, he sat down with the American guy. The man asked a few questions, which had already been asked at the 1st interview and were not really anything to worry about – like “Why do you love her?”, “Do you like her kids?”, etc. Houssain said all good things about me, of course, and that he loves each of my kids and can’t wait to meet them. Houssain told the interviewer that “me and Jennifer match”. The interviewer asked for examples of how Houssain thought we were a good match. Houssain explained that our sense of humor is so similar and that we think about things in life in the same way. Houssain told him “When I go to Europe and tell a Moroccan joke, nobody gets it. But when I tell Jennifer, she gets the joke and laughs. And she makes me laugh. I do love her so much.”

The man just listened, then gave Houssain a little blue paper with a number on it, and told Houssain to come back to the consulate tomorrow at 3:00pm to pick up his visa! Yay! :)

One odd thing about this process, I have to say, is that I do not make above the required poverty line. In fact, for my household size, I make about $3000 under the designated poverty line. So, of course, we had a co-sponsor fill out the forms, thinking they would be needed. Well, Houssain took the co-sponsor forms to the consulate this morning, and they never asked for them. They actually approved the Visa on just my income alone (which, again, is under the poverty line). I am happy about this, hamdulillah, but it was unexpected from everything I had heard previously read about this process.

Anyway, best of luck to those who are waiting, and congratulations to the recent approvals.

    Jennifer

congratulation i am soooooooooooooooooooooo happpppppppppppppyyyyy :dance::dance::dance: for you... Is sure is God

  4. My visa was approved today by the Consulate in Vienna  The interview was short and the lady who interviewed me was very friendly! After her last question she smiled and said "Congratulations and welcome to the United States of America!" What a moment.. Without this site I would not have gotten so far and without any RFE's and such.. When I first found VJ I didn't understand half of the words and terms on here and now I have my visa in hand (well.. have to pick it up within the next days ;)) I learned so much just by reading through the different forums and topics here. Just wanted to say THANK YOU to everybody who contributes to this site!!

    congratulations :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

  5. You want to list what you're currently earning - calculate your current wages (Gross) to give you an annual amount.

Thank you so much for the response. i will did that but i wasn't sure if i was correct. I also have my stubs and letter from employer letter from my bank stating my direct deposit.

  6. Yep - Gross annual income before taxes and deductions. You can interpolate the current years income but it cannot be proved since it is not "real" income yet and in this economy nothing is for sure.

For factual data, provide your latest years salary. Submit a Letter of Employment from your employer stating your salary or pay rate, hours you work, how long you have been employed, full time / part time, etc... all relevant information and have it signed and dated by a authorized company individual.

Provide a minimum of two years tax returns and w2's, bank statements and pay stubs. Check out the guides here on VJ, they are very helpful.

    I included the following:

    I-134 cover letter (optional)

    Complete signed and dated I-134

    Letter of Employment

Most recent 6 months bank statements

Most recent 6 months pay stubs

Copy of Tax returns for 1040, 1040A and W2's (atually I forgot the w2's but there was no problem - whew)

Everything included was outlined on the cover letter including our case number, names, consulate address etc...

    Hope that helps.

So under the line 7 on the form do i place what i am making now or what i made last year. I have printed the paystubs. I am working 2 jobs now started in November so yes i am making way more now than i made last year so i am confused should i put what i am making now and add the stubs on that line or what i made last year. please help

  7. Is the petitioner required to fill out an i-134 form if iam sponsoring and filling out the i-864? Does she add all her income information as well? I have already added all my income information. Just trying to find out what the petitioner is required to fill out since i am using my income to support the beneficiary.

  8. Hello VJ,

My fiancee got an email from the Lagos Consulate stating that he should come back February 22,2010 to present the additional documents listed on the 221g that was given to him January 14. But our petiton expires February 9 2010. Is that going to be a problem? If so how can the embassy extend our expiration date?

    Nwanyioma

Your expiration date is null and void at this time as soon as the Consulate starts processing. Do not worry about the experation date. It gets extended automatically when the process begins at the embassy. My experation date is 020210, his interview is 021610. So Relax. :star:

  9. Mouad had his interview December 7th, 2009, and immediatly put into AP. Last week Friday 15th, he got a call to come to the embassy with his passport on Tuesday 19th. They gave him a blue slip with a number on it, and told him they would call him. He got the call today to come to the embassy tomorrow to pick up his Visa!! So after 44 days, finally its over! Well atleast partly... now to the AOS stage! So he will probably be coming in 2 weeks!!! Yiiippppeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

    congrats!

  10. passport stamps?

it wasn't passport stamp becuase the CO did not know by looking at the beneficiary's passport only when the finger prints were done is when they found out he had requested a police certificate in Abidjan and now that means he has either lived or been there. trying to find out if the have access to other countries database why are we paying for get police reports?

  11. Hi my VJ family,,,,

I read somewhere in one of the interviews the CO was able to tell a beneficiary had requested a Police report in another country. I am so curious how did they find out if the beneficiary never mentioned of ever residing in that country. Because if they already have that information where they can get into other countries database then why do we go and pay and through all the hassle of obtaining a police report or certificate. Just Curious! :help:

  12. Hello VJ community

We were approved this morning in Lagos. Overall, our experience with the interview process was ok, our outcome was great. The interview took about 15 minutes. He was interviewed by a man. He mentioned there were 2 men and 2 women at the windows.

I want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone that posts to Visa Journey. Your posts and articles helped us through the entire process.

Here are the questions that were asked of my husband at the consulate in Lagos on today

    1. How do you know your spouse?

    2. Where did you meet your spouse?

    3. Have you been married before? Do you have any children?

    4. Has your spouse been married before? Does she have any children?

    5. How many times has your spouse visited Nigeria? How long was each visit?

    6. How do you and your spouse communicate? Evidence of call logs, chat logs, email.

    7. Do you miss your wife and why.

    8. When did you see your wife last.

    9. When did we get married?

    10. When did our relationship turn romantic?

    11. How did we celebrate Christmas this year …..?We did ours via webcam

    12. How many kids does your wife have, what are their names, what are their ages, what grades are they in.

    13. What kind of work will he do here in the USA?

    14. Do you have a copy of your wife passport?

    15. What does your wife do after work?

    15. Do you have marriage photos? Let me see them.

    16. The CO said, you wife has come here recently, let me see the recent photos.

    17. Do you have wedding pictures?

    18. Do you have photos taken before the marriage?

    19. How is your wife able to travel here so much, it’s expensive and time consuming? (I had been there 3 times).

    20. What did your wife do with her kids when she travels to see you so much?

    21. Do you have phone records, if so, let me see them...

    22. Let me see copies of your chats.

    23. How old are you? How old is your wife.

After all the questioning he typed a couple of things on his computer and printed out on a white paper and told him "Congratulations” you can pick up your visa next Tuesday, which is a week from today.

GOOD LUCK. I pray God guides to those of you that are going thru this process have faith and believe and surely you shall overcome this enormous obstacle at this point in your life.

Advice: Remember to keep eye contact with the CO. Listen to the questions clearly, they purposely try to trip you up and ask you the same questions in a different way. Listen and comply with the instructions of the security personnel especially when you’re instructed to open your medical results otherwise, you will be sent back to the end of the queue for not following their instructions.

congra :dance::dance: tulations :dance::dance: happy for you.

  13. Bijad will be at the consulate in Casablanca. We spoke earlier today and he seems to be handling it pretty good, although I know he must be nervous. I stayed strong for him, but am going crazy inside. As we all know Casa has been turning down a lot of visa's - for whatever reason. We have no red flags - that I know of, although we aren’t in the best financial situation. I am in school and I will graduate this May and Bijad is living at home with is elderly parents. He does most of the repairs, errands, etc. I feel pretty helpless. I talked to him about all the tips and suggestions that I received online and he is ready. I am nervous but so happy too, that maybe this part of the journey will be over and we can REALLY start our lives together. Please keep us in your prayers.

    Thank you :star:

    GOOD LUCK! IT IS WELL!
