  1. 2-3 months from filing AOS with a Texas address (especially Houston and Dallas), and most people in VJ have not received their biometrics appointment notice (therefore not their EAD and GC). It is very frustrating! In my case, (my address is in Houston, entered with a K1 visa) I filed 2 months ago and have not received biometrics appointment notice, AP, EAD, nor GC. Even my AP and EAD are still not uploaded in the USCIS system (cannot check case status). Anyone with an address in Texas having similar problems?

We filed in August and still haven't rcvd biometric appt letter.

it so frustrating i do feel your pain. I scheduled an info pass appt hopefully that will help.

  2. We were approved!!!!:dance::dance::dance: We arrived in Baltimore, Maryland exactly 10:00 am. Our interview was scheduled for 11am. Only to realize that we forgot our marriage certificate at home. We quickly went back home came back and arrived at 11:08am (I was speeding). We went through security, who escorted us to room 103. We checked in at the front desk and the receptionist told us to listen for our name to be called. We waited for about 10 mins, and a young white lady called my husbands name. We said Good Morning to her because she really didnt look so friendly. Before we can sit down we were sworn in. Funny enough I was the one be intervied the most. These were the questions she asked:

Whats your husbands mother and fathers name?

What is his Date of Birth?

    Where was he born?

    Where do you work?

How did you meet? she asked the both of us

She asked my husband for my date of birth?

    Do we have any children?

Have we ever been married before?

She asked my husband what my parents do for a living

Asked me where my husband was working prior to coming to the US?

    Has his parents visited USA?

Asked us many random questions. She was correlating the information we put on our AOS application. Towards the end she asked my husband the criminal questionaire on the end of the AOS application. She said that we should be receiving something in the mail in a few weeks. That she doesnt see anything wrong with approving this application!!!! Our interview chatted and gisted with the both of us. We made her laugh so many times. She was ok.

congratulattionssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so happy for you. We are still waiting for biometric appt. I have set up an info pass appt to find out what is going on. Hopefully something good will come out of it.

    congratulations again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

  3. HOW MANY OF US HAS FILED OUR AOS AND HAVEN'T RECEIVED A REPLY AS A BIOMETRIC APPT OR ANY CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING THE AOS APPLICATION.

CHICAGO RCVD AOS APP. ON 090710, WE RCVD A NOTIFICATION OF I-485 BEING FORWARDED TO CALIFORNIA. NO BIOMETRIC APPT LETTER HAS BEEN RCVD YET. I HAVE CALLED USCIS NUMEROUS TIMES AND I AM SO FRUSTRATED MY HUSBAND NEEDS HIS EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY ARE WAITING FOR AN APPT DATE FROM TEXAS.

I SEE A BUNCH OF PEOPLE FROM OTHER STATES HAS HAD THEIR APPT AND EVEN GOTTEN THEIR WORK AUTHORIZATIONS.

PLEASE JOIN IN THE DISCUSSION FOR SUPPORT, THIS IS SAD. :crying::crying:

  4. Hi VJ ers ,

We filled my AOS EAD and AP package along with the I 130

We sent the package to Chicago lock box on Aug 14th and we got 4 NOAs for our applications on August 17th.

There is no news on our case after that. The last updated dates on the USCIS website are Aug 31. I have not gotten the biometric appointment date yet.

Is there any way that we could get more info on our case? any pointers would be of great help.

    Have a great day!

    Aravind

    Hi,

Contact USCIS @ 800 375 5283, when the customer service rep come on the phone, request to speak to second level customer service. they will give you details about your case. That what i had to do to find out information on my application when i was in Limbo and didn't know what was going on. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I had to refile my fiance AOS on Friday August 27th.

I called myself filing it in June found out after a month that it was mailed to the incorrect USCIS office in Dallas. Instead of forwarding it to Chicago Lockbox they mailed it back to a incorrect address to my residence. It took 2 months for us to receive partial package back from USCIS.

Anyway, we just refiled it to the Chicago Lockbox hopefully we will get the ball rolling.

  6. Hi Boaz,

I am very sorry for ur ordeal. I will definately keep you in my prayers. God will take care of you and the baby. Pray for him as well. It is excruciating but there is nothing that is too overbearing that God. So look up to him and he will be there for you.

  7. Watching the technique of the African teams make you know it will be years before any of them are serious contenders for the cup. They just aren't as technical as the others. Which is hard to understand because so many play for the powerhouse countries.

I think i disagree with abit you, as to being serious conternders for the cup.we were serious! When racism is playing a big role on the soccer field it makes it very difficult. I can say we have great respect from alot of countries, it was rather on unfortunate we lost the way we did.May God give us long life and we will make it the next time around. Our player was very upset when kicking the ball on the penalty kick and messed it up. That is why are old people say "patience is virtue". Hah! The racial issues was making our players ticked off. But we will get there. God knows as the whole nation of Africa we need to make it and we will get there one day. PEACE!.

    GO GHANA!

  8. Just want to add my 2 cents..I am have been in health insurance for about 12years now and i think a point is being missen here.

First of all there was a point made earlier on by a VJ member stating Insurance Policy depends solely on the contract between the Insurance Company and the employer based on what they purchased for the Group Plan.

My VJ family, i love you all! please don't make it sound like the Gentleman's insurance is the wrong insurance. Not at all is what the Group Policy is, which is different from one employer to the other. Nothing at all to do with USCIS or what Visa one entered into the US with.

You can even have 3 people working for same company and if the company has different policies depending on your payroll deduction for your premuims each person will have a different policy as far as benefits but then if everyone in the company has to qualify by like the VJ member said by a qualifying event then that is what it is due to the employers contract.

Please don't make the lady feel bad.

    Good Luck my Sister.

Peace to my VJ family members.

  9. Mr K,

One thing i will also advise you is that, stand your ground and let the family know you are getting married to be one union not to be broke from the onset of your marriage so set a budget for yourself and stick to the budget.

Akota sekan is not to break you

You can always negotiate like AgyNyame stated, negotiate down to your budget.

I am an Akan born and raised Ghana so i know exactly what i am talking about.

You will be fine if you stand your grounds in a respectful and loving way.

  10. YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I haven't been that excited in a very long time. My Goodness. In God we trust right? We thank God. I am very happy for you as you can see. I happen to come on here to check on my VJ family and i saw this am too happy jumping for joy in my office.:thumbs::thumbs:

The long and stressful journey is over. Enjoy your hubby when he gets here i am still enjoying mine.:dance::dance:

YOU A SOLDIER, YOU'VE CONQUERED WITH THE HELP OF THE ALMIGHTY FATHER.

  11. Pman had his second interview on yesterday and was APPROVED! We are elated! He had the 'Asian Lady' again. This time, however, there were no questions, nor requests for additional evidence. She simply thanked him for his patience and endurance during the process and congratulated him  . Then, she gave him instructions on how and when to pick up his visa. So nine months after it began, our CR-1 visa journey is over-- just like that!

Thanks to everyone for posting your experiences and inquiries. I learned a lot and gained tons of inspiration. Special thanks to Nwanyioma, David's Wife, Egbosimbas, Effieb, etc. for helping me to maintain the little sanity I have left. Without VJ and the gang, the journey would have been much harder if not impossible.

All the best to everyone. As we continue on the journey that is life, I look forward to reading more good news from people overcoming seemingly impossible odds in pursuit of love. :luv:
