  3. Perhaps there are otherways of living a life other than misery. No one is obligated nor beingforced to live in the USA. As a matter of fact, many have chosen the option andhave gone thought the slow process [VSC at this specific time] for a betterlife?. Better sure, otherwise we/you will still be living in your homecountry.

    There are individuals inevery blog that will take your words and get very offended and more. But it is moreon us [the writer] to be conscience that every office, country,even your own home have rules and many time, we don't get what wewant when we want it.

    It is unfortunately thatthe OP feels this way and of course, we could sent him back to his home countryto continue living his life there, but a choice was made and now you eitheraccepted or not. But, we all can understand your frustration about the slowprocessing as we all are and been there a couple of times before.. Don't bediscourage, I am sure your decision to move to USA is for love and love ispatient.. Soon, went you have your approval and document on hand you will feelbetter, if not.. give it back and say good bye to America.

    Best of Luck,

    VSC sucks.

    America sucks. If not because of my fiancee, I don't even want to move there.

  4. When we invited my wife's parent to visit us for the birth of our first child, we went directly to our congressman office for a recommendation letter in addition to my request/letter to the embassy inviting her parents to visit us. Although his/her letter does not mean you will get the visa approve it could/will bring light to the documents/interview.

    My wife's parents are of older age, had their finances in order and their interview was with little problem.. but I have seen thought other individuals of different position to have less problems if financial support from the invitee is provided.

    Hope I answer part / or the question

    Hi. At the moment I'm in the process of AOS (waiting for GC approval) and would like to bring my mother to visit us here in USA next year because we are planning a small church ceremony. I already had approved the AP - EAD and as I plan to visit my country at end of year so I would give the letter in hand to my mom so she can go to the embassy for the tourist visa interview.

    Along with the form that she needs to fill out for this tourist visa, what other documents we should gather from our side? Invitation letter only? Do I have to write a joint letter with my husband inviting her? Does the letter need to be notarized?

    Anybody has a good sample of invitation letter?

    Thanks anybody for the help.

  5. Mills, attorney are the best way to waste your valuable money... Attornesy will only fill out the same applications you will complete.. but, they do have experience how to ask you the questions and transfer them to the application..

    If you take your time and go thought the process step by step and before filing you know what to do, will save you a good penny..

    K-1 Guideline...

    Hi guys, :help:

    It seems virtually impossible to get any help whatsoever to apply for a K1 visa.

    I am from Australia, and living here, my fiancee is in the states and desperately wants me over there to get married. We have been dating for over 3 years, and meet the requirements to get married. I hvae visited the US over 4 times, and want nothing more but to be with him

    i cannot find an attorney down here for help. I have no idea how to start, all I can find is form downloads.

    what is the first step to doing this, I'm so lost and confused. Is there any legal help down here, I found one but its a state away and charge $1,500 just for a consultation fee.

    I just need some help, just a point in the right direction so I know how to start off.

    I appreciate any help, -and thank you for your time:)

  6. Funny thing, I am loosing it not thanks to VSC, lol

    Honestly, since we have been there before [K-1, AOS] we have learned to seat and wait.. For my current process [ROC] Vermont is working on December 11, 2012.. It may sound pretty close but knowing them, it may be much longer.. We could have a problem if we are planing to travel and the GC / Extension has expired but other than that, we know for sure it will arrive, sometime in the near future [thinking positive]

    Now for the other cases, K1, AOS, is my understanding they are moving some cases to local offices with jurisdiction authority. I remember seeing the note but cannot find it..

    Hey, the fact is, no matter how many times you call, how many congressman you write.. VSC is plain slow [lazy maybe?]

    DoneWaiting- Have you pulled all your hair out yet? JESUS! February? Argh! They really need to get on it, if VSC takes another weekend off I'm gonna scream! I'm so frustrated today. I plan on calling USCIS on my lunch and see what they tell me since Im past 5 months.. Yet they recently updated k1's to march 5.. ironic how that worked out for me right? wacko.gif I'm sure I'll get the same old line but no problem in trying.

  7. Let's not confuse the 2 possible areas/questions..

    Any person can apply and become USC.. We all know the steps and process..

    on the Flip Side.. Can a USC become a citizen of another nation and maintain his/her US Citizenship? I know this was not the original question but it seems it has been confused within the topic.. so, the below note is for this last question brought to the table and it does not refer to becoming US Citizen.

    Let's look at two aspects with respect to Dual Nationality..

    1- Born citizen of any other country

    2- US Born Citizen

    1- To become naturalize USC we all know what to do..

    2- However, for a USC to become citizen of another country may be a little more complicated than it seems.

    The Department of State is responsible for determining the citizenship status of a person located outside the United States or in connection with the application for a U.S. passport while in the United States.

    The department of State can apply Expatriating Act based on Section 349 of the immigration and naturalization Act..

    Every Case and Country may be different and mutual agreement may apply [per country]

    POTENTIALLY EXPATRIATING ACTS

    Section 349 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1481), as amended, states that U.S. citizens are subject to loss of citizenship if they perform certainspecified acts voluntarily and with the intention to relinquish U.S. citizenship. Briefly stated, these acts include:

    • obtaining naturalization in a foreign state (Sec. 349 (a) (1) INA);
    • taking an oath, affirmation or other formal declaration to a foreign state or its political subdivisions (Sec. 349 (a) (2) INA);
    • entering or serving in the armed forces of a foreign state engaged in hostilities against the U.S. or serving as a commissioned or non-commissioned officer in the armed forces of a foreign state (Sec. 349 (a) (3) INA);
    • accepting employment with a foreign government if (a) one has the nationality of that foreign state or (b) an oath or declaration of allegiance is required in accepting the position (Sec. 349 (a) (4) INA);
    • formally renouncing U.S. citizenship before a U.S. diplomatic or consular officer outside the United States (sec. 349 (a) (5) INA);
    • formally renouncing U.S. citizenship within the U.S. (but only under strict, narrow statutory conditions) (Sec. 349 (a) (6) INA);
    • conviction for an act of treason (Sec. 349 (a) (7) INA).

  9. By the way, so you should pay close attention to your country of birth law with respect to dual nationality.

    DUAL CITIZENSHIP: NOT RECOGNIZED. Exception: Child born abroad of Ugandan parents, who obtains the citizenship of the country of birth, is allowed to maintain dual citizenship until age 18.

    Ugandan law maintains that one citizenship should be chosen at age 18, but this is a rarely enforced law. Unless an individual brings their dual citizenship to the attention of the government, both nationalities may be maintained by default.

    http://www.multiplecitizenship.com/wscl/ws_UGANDA.html

  10. is there a reason why you want to your birth place passport rather than US one?

    I am getting my US citizenship next week and i want to know if i can still use my Ugandan passport when i go back home (uganda) in addition to having my US passport.

  11. I believe the question whether or not you have dual citizenship depends in your country of birth.. As stated in prior quotes, there are countries that allow you to keep you citizenship unless you renounce [legally]. Probably following some of the sites posted above you will be able to clarify your question a bite better..

    http://www.multiplec...rldsummary.html

    I just got naturalized this year. I specifically asked the question during the final interview and at other times. I am a dual citizen now.

  12. My prior statement was cleared. The United States of America does not support dual nationality. This means, it is allow for an individual who has become nationalize citizen to maintain his/her nationality. You could even have Triple citizenship based on your family status. However, due to the complex and the laws involve with/in every country, the US does not encourage its citizen to maintain other nationalities.

    On the flip side, some countries other than the USA do not support duo nationality..

    The US had no laws prohibiting or allowing dual citizenship. Sine it is not prohibited by law, a person can have more than one citizenship.

  13. Although is over stress waiting to hear some kind of movement @ VSC, but unless they [VSC] moves nothing you will be able to do but loss your calm and hair. When I processed the K1 for my wife, my process was extremely fast [VSC] and the California side was severely slow.. I am processing ROC and been waiting since February for some kind of sign from Vermont and nothing but on the other hand California has moved smoothly..

    In order words, as mentioned before, nothing we can do but wait.. it will come and at that moment, the peace and relief will be overwhelming.. We all can guarantee that..

    Best of Luck

  14. The concept of submission dependents on a few factors and is view differently.. Religion for many, Culture for others, abusiveness for the rest.

    As a man, my ego and macho-hood, would want my wife to be quiet when I talk and not expecting her to answer back even if I am wrong [Culture/Religion/??] I would expect to be first in my home above all including my kid. But in many areas we have gone wrong, contemplating religion and miss-interpreting the bible and taking absorbing our family teachings that women are to be submissive and can not voice out their opinion.

    I prefer to have a women with opinion and voice than a doll who cannot make a decision on her own.

  15. Probably Elizabeth Taylor may have the right answer,

    But on a serious note, whether or not the prior marriages were intended for immigration reasons, the CO will defensibly question the integrity and will dig into the divorces, timing, reasons, any possible compensations, etc, etc. You will need to present a strong filing with proper and reliable documentation

    Good luck

  16. I know I am late to the post, but the process in general is stressful not to say direct interviews. The chances to make a mistake while interview [and I mean forget] is greater than most people expect. Typically and almost 80% of the cases called for interview do not get the answer on the spot, for some reason, even if everything is in order, the officers do not give you the answer on the spot..

    In any event, good to hear you have your GC approved.. best of luck,

  17. When at the embassy, they have individuals providing instructions and reviwing the documents prior interview. At that moment you are let know if any documents are missing, and at this time she was inform her pictures were not acceptable. She had to run out and get new ones taken..

    That is rediculous that they require something, yet do not put it in the instructions. Maybe it is the mood of the consuladate? You mentioned that it was her interview that she needed another picture. The picture with hair over the ears was ok for the initial petition? Should I wait for her to send another picture before filing? Thanks
