Interview booked for the 11th for K-1, so fingers crossed it goes better than the medical!

ok so research shows that the tax transcript seems to just be a replacement for the tax return if the original is lost.
Considering i have the originals from the last 2 years, I think I am probably ok.
-
ok im told a tax transcript == tax return?
Is this true?
-
Can I just say about the transcripts that they FAXED them to Ricky in a matter of minutes. He scanned them in and I printed them. That's what I took with me.
ETA the link to the UK interview thread HERE
ETA (again) I'm not sure if "they" will really have to do without what they require.. I was specifically ask for it but I don't know if other's have been. As I said above...it should just take a phonecall and hopefully they can fax it to your other half
you are a star, better safe than sorry.
I cant find ANYWHERE on the US embassy site where they say the require them, not something they can really cause a fuss over if they have the full tax return i feel.

3 week wait is not an option at this point, interview is in 2 weeks
I think i will get my photos done before hand, just incase things are broken, too much of a gamble. They will have to do without transcripts considering the amount of stuff we are providing.

Hmmm I have:
full tax return
Affadavit form
Pay stubs
Letter from bank informing of deposits
W2's
2 X letter from employer
I figure this should do me lol

hmmm not sure i have tax transcripts, or if they will be relevant as my other half has just changed jobs.
Good news on the photos tho, beats shelling out £25 which i ended up paying last time for 4!

Hey, I had my interview on Monday (review is in my timeline). You get called to the first window. They couldn't find my P3 documents so I ended up giving my copies. They copied those and told me to sign (mine were blank). My folder was in exact order so I knew where ALL my information was. The lady was really patient and asked me for each document from the checklist one my one. I gave them to her and she read them. When she asked for the I-134 I gave that..she asked for the transcripts and I gave those. I told her I had a letter from his employer and a payslip print out from them also .. I asked if she wanted them she said sure. She gave me the slip to pay for the visa's and come back. Did that and she then gave me a courier slip. I then had to wait again for the actual interview.
Wait was about 20-30 mins. The CO had all the docs. He was sooo nice. It was more like a conversation than anything else. I was approved and then went to pay the courier.
Oh and you don't need the DS-230 part 2
Anything else ya wanna know please ask. Come on over the to the "United Kingdom" section. There's an interview thread there.
What exactly do you mean by transcripts? I take it from what you are saying that it is a good idea to take copies of all the forms filled in in packet 3?
Just to clarify then, what you give to the first person is everything off the checklist (police cert, evidence of support, photograph etc...)
Also is there a machine to do america sized photos there? or do i need to get one done beforehand?
Thanks,
Arch

Hi all,
I am currently trying to sort out my huge folder of information and am trying to determine what order I need things in.
Specifically as far as I understand you see 2 people (in london anyway) - what am I providing the first person (people tend to say that they give them "documents" but speficially which documents? Everything I have? Affadavit and police cert and DS230 part 2? (You get the idea)
The obvious follow up to this is what do i provide when actually having the interview part? My understanding here you give them nothing unless they ask for it? e.g. evidence of relationship
Any advise appreciated.
Regards,
Arch

Hi all,
Just a quick query, I know that the fee for K-1 visa's was looking to be increased, but it says in the info pack that his fee for "immigration visa's" is $400 in total per person, does K-1 count as an immigration visa, or do i still pay the $131?
Thanks,
Arch

Thanks guys,
Fortunately i realised now, not in another few months time when i had heard nothing back.
Sending off the extra forms tomorrow, hopefully will move to where my original IV-15 was in the queue, though i have my doubts!

Hi,
I think I have made a bit of a boo boo. When you send back the checklist, are you also meant to send back forms DS230 etc? Or are these meant to be taken with you on the day of interview?
I fear I may have misunderstood the instructions not to mail back documents, and neglected to send back anything aside from the checklist.
If this is the case should I just fill out the forms, and send everything back with a new version of the checklist?
Cheers,
Arch

Hi,
Could anyone give me a rough time line for how long it takes for the london embassy to send out an interview letter after you return packet 3?
Just want to know when i should start getting worried that they havnt received it.
Cheers,

Hi all,
fortunately (thank's to the deity of your choice) we are now getting towards the interview stage. However, on the 29th of March my fiancée is changing job (expecting interview mid may).
What we are planning to do is hold off on filling out the affidavit of support form till she is at her new job, get new letter from her new boss, get recent pay slips etc.
However does anyone feel this may cause problems at the interview? The new job is very high paying, so actual level of support wouldn't be an issue, just concerned by the fact that the tax return and W2's from the previous year are from her old job.
Cheers,
Arch

I will be moving to NC.
You are allowed to drive there on a UK licence indefinitely while not a legal resident, and for 60 days after you are a legal resident.
However after talking to the guy at the DMV he said that i would have to show him my visa (which i obviously cant do) in order to get a licence for the duration of said visa (thought getting a licence for the 90 day period of the I-94 seems a little silly)
The point is I want to get my US licence asap (to take motorcycle licence as well, as i only have a restricted licence in the UK which wont transfer to america).
What does a normal US resident have to show to get a driving licence short of a SSN?

Hi,
I will hopefully within the next few months be moving to america permanently with my K-1 visa. My question is that in order to take an american driving test you have to show that you are a permanent resident. Now I can't do this by showing my visa, as the only evidence i will have (to my knowledge) is an I-94.
How do I prove to the DMV (and anyone else that needs to know) that I am a permanent resident? SSN?
Thanks,
Arch

Quick question regarding tax returns for the evidence of support:
I have the originals - It says it requires a notarised copy, so I presume anything I give them for evidence of support, they keep? Or can I give them the original and expect to see it back once it has been looked over to save me a rediculous notarizing fee?

Arch
