I am sorry I have to air this out, better to say my piece than make myself go nuts with anger.
So I received a message from the admin of the PRETTY LADIES group. Apparently I said something foul to one of the members and that they have blocked me from the group for doing so. (accdg to their guidelines per se) So I replied and copy pasted the wall posts of that said member. I showed the admin how vulgar and tactless this member’s words are. Not everyone wants to know her sexual escapades because some people have morals and values that she clearly is lacking. All I did is rephrase her words and make her realize how foul her mouth is. She prides herself from being an English teacher and a professional but her words and actions make her seem no less than a bar girl. Countless times I have seen her pipe in in conversations and brag about her man’s goodies.
Not only does she have a dirty mind, but she clearly is lacking from common sense. She saw this post in VJ and could not believe that people will speak out about what is really happening. She just thinks someone is out to ruin the group. So she called the people who reprimanded her for being moralists and being self-righteous.
And guess what the admin did? She blocked me from the group. Why? ‘Cause that girl said I was being foul. What is funny is all the words I used, that she thinks is foul, came from the girl herself. It is ridiculous! She got mad because the truth hurts. No matter what explanation I give and evidence to show that all I did is say “no one wants to know that your man is blah blah blah..” I got the boot. Well, it is clear; it’s either they don’t have any common sense or no good grasp of the English language. They only see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear. They twist your words so it ends up wrong and take it way out of context. I showed her the evidences but it fell on deaf ears and blind eyes.
I don’t care that I am no longer in that group. I was gonna leave anyway. I don’t care for all their drama. I just find it REALLY funny that I was there right from the start and this is what I get. We were even the ones who suggested creating a group! All that from a status message here in VJ when someone was out looking for friends. We made it grow, made it fun, made it helpful. It wasn’t a one person team. It was a GROUP effort. The creator of the group wasn’t even there most of the time. Now that it has grown so large, the idea of additional moderators doesn’t seem to be grasped by the group owner. People who dare speak out get booted. Kiss their bum and you are saved. So let the walls be filled with filthy mouths and flaming posts and trolls since simpletons thrive in that environment.
And what conviction do the “moral and self-righteous people” get? Guilty. Judged without trial and removed from the group that they themselves created. It doesn’t matter that you were once friends and that you once helped her.

Oh this may be a year late to reply but you are WAY WRONG. The only reason that group requires members to speak English or Tagalog is because everyone understands those languages unlike Bisaya which only a few can understand. Do you get it? In order to have unity, we need to have a common language understood by all. Just like with me responding to you in Tagalog, would you like that? No, because you don't know the language.
No Pinay needs a support group? The group is more than just that. I have a happy life and a wonderful husband but there are things I'd rather ask other women for some things, specially those that have gone through the same process and will understand the situation better. I've actually made a lot of real life friends from that group so don't discount it and act like you know what you are talking about when you clearly dont.

It's not an admirable job, to be sure. And given the chance, I'd wager 99.9% of them would choose another occupation. I'd also lay dollars down that the vast majority of them feel like it's the only way to save their family. It's actually quite an extreme sacrifice that they make, especially considering the strong moral background most of them seem to have.

I just came back from a visa interview at the French Consulate in New York and would like to share my experience with other greencard holders who require a visa to go to Schengen states (or more specifically, France). Please take note I am just sharing my experience to help others. This is no guarantee that you will get yours too especially if your situation is different.
I just recently arrived in the States and decided to travel for 3 weeks study + 1 week vacation in France. The first thing you have to do is:
1. Go to the Consulate's website (depending on where you live)
2. READ all the instructions and the requirements. PRINT THEM OUT and make a checklist.
If you feel that the instructions are incomplete, please look at other consulate's websites in which the requirements are more complete (I read the French Consulate at Washington's). Depending on your situation, they might ask you for more documents than what is listed, so it is best to be prepared.
3. Read blogs (This is very important because there is a lot of information you might not find in the website).

4. You'll have to spend first (and take the risk!) so you can have your documents
I originally wanted to go a month after I arrived in the States, but since I figured I won't have enough time for the requirements, I postponed it to 4 months after. Why? Because the following documents are very important, you may not be able to do anything unless you have them.
1. GREENCARD (This is the most important!! This is also required in order to have you Social Security Number.)
2. Social Security Number (This is required when you want to open a bank account, or put your name on your husband's account)
3. Joint account with your husband (Important if you want to satisfy the Financial Requirements without too much hassle!)
You can start scheduling your interview. Please go to the consulate's website AT LEAST a month before your intended date of interview. I learned the hard way. I booked the first week of December, thinking that I could go on an interview on Dec. 16, 2011, but the earliest schedule left was Jan. 3, 2012, and my flight was already on Jan. 20! I am going to pick up my visa on Jan. 17, so I only have 3 days of leeway. So please please, plan ahead, you can't go to Europe on a whim especially if you need a visa!
You should also have an idea on WHEN you are planning to go. If you don't have all documents on hand, please make sure by the time of your interview, you will have all of them already. Look at the requirements, and decide which ones you have to ask from a third party and the timeframe they could give them to you. You should know that the Consulate says they do not accept internet printed copies, so as much as possible, just ask for a hardcopy. I know this is hard in this day and age when everything is online, but trust me, just DO IT!
Since I am unemployed and solely dependent on my husband, it was difficult for me to satisfy the financial requirements (employer-related) listed in the French Consulate of New York's website. They also did not specify on what to do if you're a housewife. That is why I found a more comprehensive list of requirements at the French Consulate in Washington

I actually applied for a short-stay student visa, but some of the requirements are the same.
My Checklist (with corresponding comments)
1. Appointment letter print-out
2. Money - if you're paying cash, please make sure you have the EXACT change. They also accept credit cards
3. Application form
4. 2 pcs Photo - they are very strict on this. I have heard that people were denied because of the photo. Do not smile , make sure your forehead and ears can be seen.
5. passport or travel document (+ copy of identity page and validity of passport)
6. + 1 copy of signature page of passport
7. USA residency card (greencard)
8. Flight reservation - they need to see a round-trip ticket. It's your choice either to go to a travel agency (might also be expensive) to have a temporary booking (note, they can only hold your ticket for a few days unless you pay), book a refundable ticket (expensive), or pay a low-priced ticket which may be unrefundable (just take the risk if visa is denied) or which may require you to pay a cancellation fee. Just find out which one's cheaper, it's your choice.
I booked mine through US Airways rewards travel and the Airline e-mailed me the confirmation. I printed the confirmation and the embassy accepted this even if their website said no internet printed copies. From what I read somewhere, I think they accept it if it is a confirmation DIRECTLY from the airline company. But if you book through travelocity, travelzoo, and other websites selling airline tickets, they might not accept that (or they may, depending on who's interviewing!). So, please call the AIRLINE and tell them what you need.
9. Letter of Enrollment specifying exact dates of attendance and length of studies. - I had to make a downpayment in order for me to get this letter. They e-mailed me a PDF but I asked them to mail me a hardcopy. It took about 1-2 weeks to get here from France, so please have this in mind when making the appointment
10. Lodging – please read the instructions on the website especially for the hotels
You have to account for all the days you are staying in Europe and have proof on where you're staying. This is what I meant by not travelling on a whim and say, “oh this day I'll go to this country or city.” You have to PLAN everything.
I paid this in FULL just for me to get a Certificat D'Hebergement from them (This is what I said about take the risk!). I also asked for a hardcopy from them.
I made reservations for the rest of my stay in a hotel with my husband. Make sure your name is in that reservation. My husband used his points, had to call the hotel and ask them to put my name on it. They e-mailed the reservation. Since the website said no internet printed copies, we had to ask the hotel to fax it. Surprisingly, during the interview, they accepted my internet printed copy and returned to me the fax copy. Again, I think this has something to do on WHO sent it. It was the HOTEL who directly sent it, and it didn't pass through Travelzoo or Travelocity. So call the hotel directly and tell them what you need. You might (or not) also have to pay for your hotel even before getting a visa.
If you have a relative, you can ask for an Attestation D'Acceuil but this also takes a long time to get, so you must be really close. I decided not to let my aunt get it because she has to submit an application to the Mairie, the Marie will forward it to the Prefecture for approval, and then it goes back to the Mairie. Who knows when that document will be back!! So, if you're pressed for time, this might not be an option.
11. Notarized Financial Guarantee – I had both for a student and a visa … just to be sure. My husband was my guarantor. However, when they saw that my name was in the bank account, they said it wasn't necessary. Still I would advise you to make it .. just in case!
12. Bank Balance Certification on bank letterhead – For your CURRENT account . The website doesn't say it (the website just says bank statement, I know , but this is VERY IMPORTANT! Just go to your bank and they will gladly make it for you. Make sure you have enough funds for your trip ($100/day for a tourist, $600/month for student). If the account is only under the name of your husband, be sure to have a Notarized Financial Guarantee
13. Latest personal bank statements – We had to ask the bank to mail us hardcopies, so call ASAP when you're still in the planning stage. They need 3 months worth. It has to be the latest. I had my interview on January 3, so naturally, I didn't receive the December statement. I had to print out online my December statement because I had no choice. They accepted it.
They will not accept excuses. The lady who was interviewed before me was required to go back and give her latest bank statement.
14. Medical Insurance covering $45,000 USD. - I gave them my plan coverage sent by the insurance company but they didn't need it. They just wanted the VISA Letter. I booked mine through Atlas Insurance. There are a lot of options. You can go to www.quotewright.com .
15. VISA LETTER (for the Insurance) – This letter must contain these words: medical, hospitalization, and repatriation expenses. This is what the Consulate requires.
They accepted the PDF file e-mailed to me by the insurance company which I printed out. Please read this.

As I said, the Consulate might ask for more documents depending on the situation, so be prepared.

21. husband's ID
22. Income Tax Return
23. Husband's ticket (if he's going with you)
24. Previous Schengen visa (if you had one before)
I just wanted to share this with you, since a lady before me and her daughter had a hard time. The documents the Consulate asked were not listed in the website, but the lady tried to argue. The Consulate said it was a special situation so they should comply with the requirements.
Notarized Financial Guarantee for her daughter was not signed by her husband because he's deceased, so they asked for Husband's Death Certificate. Since the child was a minor, they asked for her birth certificate.
Oh, by the way, make sure you are organized! I had to put tags on the photocopies so I could locate them easily.

Don't think its worthless....
I'm working in utility company with a government compliance right now. And I used all my Philippine credentials from school and work when I applied. I didn't came from prestigious with-so-much accreditation school and I didn't my school stuff evaluated. They seemed to just validate it to make sure I am who I am.
Just a thought..... I observed when I was applying job to different companies... They don't care about where you get your credentials as long as they can validate it and you really have experience with the job you're applying.

Sorry to not getting back here lately. I wanna say big THANK YOU to everyone. We will be going to Cebu to visit his late wife family and that they will meet their nephew/grandson. And whatever will happen to our case, me and my fiance will get married here in the philippines. We are willing to live here, the little boys are getting so attach to my family. We are happy living in simple life. I know, not everyone understands how the life story of my fiance goes. Who would believe that a young man married twice but also widowed twice in just 3 years, and was left alone taking care of his 2 sons?" I understand, because I did feel the same thing as first. I even asked him before, why move on so fast? He said he needs to start moving on and not think so much of what had happened because it only made him think to wanna die. But because of his sons, he need to be strong. His one heart desire is to have someone to love and someone who will love him for many years. He also doesnt want that his sons will grow up without a Mommy.
Right now, the little boys are thinking that I am their Mommy. And I love them as they are my own. And in time (the right time) I will never forget to tell them about their real Mommy. I talked to them about it as their angel mom for their little minds. I show them the love of the mother. And I love my fiance as well. I can see and feel how the happenings traumatized him, He always have this fear that he might lost me again. I so wanna make him feel that nothing will happen, that we will be okay.
My fiance doesnt look like disabled in the picture but once you see him in person you can tell. His right leg was broken and a metal rod was put on there so he can be able to stand and walk but not fast, he walk like a drunk. A skin was taken in his left leg to cover the metal rod in his right leg. His right arm was broken too and that he cant carry heavy things for few minutes. Although there are times he do things beyond of what he can but it shows after, the pain he feel then.

I would rather a disabled person would get some of my tax dollars than what Obama does with our tax dollars. The other thing is that I don't think we should be judgemental about people, because unless we walk in their shoes we don't know what life is like for them.
I have a son-in-law who is disabled from the military, and there is a percentage, and I don't remember what that percentage is right off hand, but if I remember correctly he had some say in what percentage of disability he would get. The percentage of disability allows him to work, and he does. Does he appear to be disabled? No, he doen't appear to be disabled. What is wrong with him? His shoulders are messed up. He can't do things that the rest of us can do on a regular basis or his shoulders become extremely painful, and he can't hardly do anything. He has to be careful all the time about what he does. He can't drive nails over head, or it destroys him. He can't use a rock bar while digging or doing fensing work, or he will tear his shoulders up, and then he can't do anything without suffering from extreme pain for months. Just cutting pork meat with a sawsal did his shoulders in, and now he is not able to do very much. If you didn't know him personally you would never know he has those problems as he doesn't go around crying about them. But those problems are real never the less. You might be able to get a picture taken of him doing something, and then say "oh, look at that picture, he is not disabled." But what the picture does not show is that doing that action on a repeated basis causes him great pain, and destroys his ability to do things. In order for him to live normally without extreme pain he has to be very careful, and he just can't do what most of the rest of us can do on a regulary basis.
So my assumption is that some of the people criticizing the op for being on disability should keep their opinions to themselves, because there is a good chance that they don't know what they are talking about.

It's unfortunate, but fully understandable to the average American citizen after hearing about some of the things discussed and allowed on some of these groups, why during the CFO they have to instruct those coming to America on how to be respectable and how to represent the Philippines with pride, dignity, and some morals for God's sake.

if i were on your shoes, id feel the same. what saddens me more is that, all these arguments and blah opinions have been recurring. this isnt just about that one person who claims herself a teacher but also about her backups too. i may not have a degree but you dont have to be a professional (teacher?) to know what is moral and what is right. instead of taking what happened a lesson, it was taken seriously in a bad way by some of the pl's members. it might be too early to assume but i think theres really something wrong with how the group/forum is being handled. ooops, how can i forget that its been repeatedly stated in words and in actions that its a group, not a forum, and that every member owns it. ok... say, its not a forum but its still a medium for open discussion. same thing. it needs a moderator. a mediator perhaps who can balance. who can stand firm but is just. and who wouldnt make decisions out of passion just to set an example (credits to ERY for pointing that out ) i just wish that whoever started this group would take even a few minutes to reflect that PL wouldnt be where it is now (quantity speaking, members are there to exchange helps. i cant talk about quality for now, sorry) without the pioneers' support. and i can say that freely without bias coz im not a pioneer. oh well, as they say, right attitude is everything. good looks dont matter if u cant get along well with others. so yeh, be happy

Aw! Being one of PL's pioneer member, too sad to see that the group whom i used to love seem to be going down the hill. Its unfortunate that Admins made this autonomic decision out of passion just to set an example rather than giving you your due credit for actually trying to be a moderator yourself even if it was by sarcastically repeating her banter in an effort of making her see herself how trashy the words thats coming out of her mouth. Its truly a shame coz she brags all over the entire forum that she is a teacher but unfortunately her behavior doesn't justify otherwise.The true violator of the spirit of the forum was her yet she still stands proud so I dont see this action as being fair and just. Furthermore its a shame that new members can freely bash with other members yet US the original members who originally put up the group all together, stand & guided each other thru out the process are always the one being misunderstood and being watched

And guess what the admin did? She blocked me from the group. Why? ‘Cause that girl said I was being foul. What is funny is all the words I used, that she thinks is foul, came from the girl herself. It is ridiculous! She got mad because the truth hurts. No matter what explanation I give and evidence to show that all I did is say “no one wants to know that your man is blah blah blah..” I got the boot. Well, it is clear; it’s either they don’t have any common sense or no good grasp of the English language. They only see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear. They twist your words so it ends up wrong and take it way out of context. I showed her the evidences but it fell on deaf ears and blind eyes.
I don’t care that I am no longer in that group. I was gonna leave anyway. I don’t care for all their drama. I just find it REALLY funny that I was there right from the start and this is what I get. We were even the ones who suggested creating a group! All that from a status message here in VJ when someone was out looking for friends. We made it grow, made it fun, made it helpful. It wasn’t a one person team. It was a GROUP effort. The creator of the group wasn’t even there most of the time. Now that it has grown so large, the idea of additional moderators doesn’t seem to be grasped by the group owner. People who dare speak out get booted. Kiss their bum and you are saved. So let the walls be filled with filthy mouths and flaming posts and trolls since simpletons thrive in that environment.
