Wow. real nice. Congrats!!!
 just thought is it ok if we post our Christmas trees too? Filipinos love Christmas and having a tree is the start of this joyful season.

Hi Daisy,
I already added you in my yh messenger. I understand your anxiety. Do whatever that will make you feel confident and erase your fears/doubts. Tulad mo, I took with me all the receipts when i filed the petition for the declarartion of nullity of marriage in 2004 and including the psychological evaluation report. The embassy didnt even ask for the court order.I think it was the St. Luke's that is interested with that. 8lbs documents ang dala ko, in 4 clearbooks (20 pages each) hahahaha!!
During the interview, may nakita akong mga US citizens with their fiancee/spouses and they were allowed to get inside the interview room.
By the way, sa feb pa ang alis namin, kasi spring next year ang wedding date.
God bless!!

This is the threatening and alarming scene in Mindanao. For a number of times, I saw that place as we always passed by every time we go to Cotabato City. Its a basically poor one, where most of the houses are made of poor and cheap materials, bamboo and coconut wood and leaves, yet the only structures that stood noticeable amidst the poor community are the beautiful mansions of the elected government officials. Even the provincial capitol building is nothing compared to those mansions. and take note, I heard that the government was even renting the one of the mansions and used as government office while the capitol building was under construction.
Lets hope and pray that Justice be given to the victims. Or it might be one of those cases which will be classified as unsolved ones. There were rumors that during the heat of "hello Garci controversy", Garci was housed in one of those mansions. who knows!!! and add that to the fact that during the last national elections, the Administration got all the votes while the opposition got ZERO!!
Mindanao is beautiful but our government officials who are working in cahoots with some ill willed groups will turn this island into another Afghanistan. what a pity!!

i am going to the taft ave pdos seminar next week before my interview, then i will get stamp after my visa is issued.can anyone tell me the exact documents needed at the prism office i just want to bring what is needed for that seminar to get certificate saying i did it, i here all differant docs, and can i bring photo copy of what docs, nbi, passport[embassy has mine] birth certificate etc i would love to know what i need at prism has any one been there lately, thanx
go and check here for the required docs CFO
i suggest go to St. Marys instead of PRISM cause PRISM sucks!
i need info from someone that went to prism i read cfo site prism is not cfo thanx anyway
ohh i wouldnt recommend you the St. Marys if PRISM dont sucks and i wouldnt say that they are sucks if i didnt experienced it
i did my seminar at PRISM last nov 2008. they are really sucks you will gonna waste your 1 hour with the BDO counselling before they start the PDOS counselling. i get inside at 8am it only took 5 mins for me to fill up their forms then went to the other room after and waited for 2 hrs to watch the "MGB clip" after 10 mins of watching here comes the BDO man with the BDO thingy it took an hr with him then finally the real counselling starts at 12noon
theres a group counselling and theres a one on one counselling i get done at 3pm (without eating!) i dont think anybody here on VJ has a good review about PRISM
At first, I did not intend to attend the guidance and counseling seminar at PRISM. it was because i read a lot that they really sucks and believed it coz it was based on the personal experiences of the applicants. However, due to the travel time from ermita to quezon city where St mary's is located, i took the risk of attending the one at PRISM. Im just glad that it was fine , there was no BDO ads whatsoever so far. maybe they were smart enough to figure out that that applicants has nothing to do with that ads at all. The counselor was nice to us and allowed us to participate in the process. I think, the docs they required varies on the circumstances of each applicant. An applicant just have to bring the basic identification documents or valid IDs and other documents peculiar to one's case.( i myself didnt bring my NBI and birth cert so i was asked to present 2 valid IDs). other applicants were asked for the pics of their fiance and them together while i was not asked for pics at all.
I can say that with my personal experience with PRISM, i can rate them fine. Personally, i dont understand why the CFO required applicants to undergo such seminar. Its just additonal cost and time for us. But who knows our government sucks!!

I called tonight for the results of my fiances sputum testing. I was advised that he should report at St. Lukes with his passport, reciept and original appt letter for immunizations. Does anybody know and estimated time when they may reschedule the interview. My fiance lives in Cebu so I was thinking that he can just stay in Manila and wait for the interview. Do you guys think that's fesable?
Glad to hear your fiance's sputum culture test is negative. My children and I had our medical at st luke's last week( Nov 16). My son and i passed ,however my daughter was required to undergo sputum smear test. As soon as the result turned negative, my son and i had our interview yesterday( this was our original schedule) and we were approved. So we are now waiting for the results of the culture test which will be this jan 18.
We will be interested and appreciate if you can update, as to what was required of your fiance and when your fiance get the interview so this will be our basis in our timeframe and planning. We intend to travel with her to the states, so while processing my authority to travel abroad at the same time, we will wait for the results of her test.
Thanks and God bless!!

Good luck.... Share ur experience here.. :-)
Hi guys, congratulations!!
we also got an approval last Nov 23,2009. My fiance will be coming here next month to spend christmas with us for the third time. We will be leaving for the States on Feb 2010. This is because i have to much to do before leaving my work. As a government auditor , am required to make some year end reports and secure clearances and authority to travel abroad before the immigration office will allow me to leave the country
here is my experience, you may check this

Hello Fellow vj members,
A friend of mine was married before to his ex and now has a white boyfriend. My questions are:
1. anybody here know how much it cost to have an annullment in the Philippines?
2. and how long the process takes?
3. Is there a way to have the process expidited? My friend is from Bukidnon and can you recommend a good lawyer for this?
Thank you very much for your reply.
The cost and time frame varies as to the manner as to how will the process be done. It can be done in a legal and regular process and surely will take time coz the cooling off period from the time of the filing and before the time the fiscal will investigate to determine if collusion exist is 6 months. then all other processes will surely take time, not to mention the possible postponements due to the conventions, meetings and seminars that the judges and fiscals and lawyers will attend, add that to the holidays and leave of absences of those in the agency.
The annulment process is a long and tedious one. My close friend's annulment took just a month but it was filed in cotabato city and she paid P120,000.There was no court appearances done at all. she just paid and 3 weeks later she got the finality. They made the documents and it appeared that she filed the petition year ago. It was incredibly unvelievable but i saw the court order and its finality.
what a bizarro world..tell you , my petition for declaration of nullity of my previous marriage was filed in jan 2004 and was granted in 2009. I went through all the emotional turmoil in appearing in court before the witness stand, facing the fiscal and the public attorney. Likewise, I hired a psychiatrist and a psychologist and took all battery of tests to prove that im psychologically capacitated. Take note, my ex husband didnt object nor participated at all during the process which was to my advantage. Despite this, its the bureaucracy and all the postponements that i faced that caused so much delay. Finally after 5 years i got the court order and its finality. The cost involved was even more than what my friend paid for the expedited process. I availed loan twice just to pay for my annulment since it was my personal battle and didn't ask my fiance to pay for it. Am just blessed that my fiance love me so much and waited for almost 7 years since we met and until my visa was finally approved last Nov 23.
So the options are ..either she will take the long process and suffer through it but fully appreciate the importanced of her freedom OR just go through the expedited process and just pay!!
Good luck to your friend!!

Hi, I attended the seminar at PRISM the other day(Nov 19, 2009). the following are required based on my experience: 2 valid IDs and photocopy of each ID, photocopy of the court order of declaration of nullity of my previous marriage and photocopy of the divorce decree of my fiance's previous marriage. I was just asked how did we know each other and when was our first meeting and when i told her that we already met 10 times for the last 6 years. She smiled and nothing was asked.
For others who attended the seminar, she asked for 2 valid IDs, birth certificate and pictures of the fiance/spouse with the petitioner and asked when was the first and last meeting. Be sure to know the maiden name of the mother of the petitioner.
So far, the seminar was somehow informative and she entertained some questions. Goodluck!!

My wife, Merlaine, is worried about an operation she had 5 years ago. She had cysts on her ovaries and had an operation to have them removed. I told her it shouldn't be an issue at all, but she (and her mother) are worried that it might cause an issue at her exam. Is there any chance that it may cause a problem?
Oh, her screen name here is Merlaine-n-Kevin. She's not very familiar with the forums here yet so she asked if I would post the question here for her.
Thanks so much!
To lessen her anxiety, just let her bring with her the medical records, in case it will be asked. She just have to request a clinical summary of her previous confinement at St Luke's hospital. Normally hospitals issues that for a minimal fee and will take about a week or less from the date of request.
I understand her feelings coz I myself requested for a clinical summary of my latest confinement.

Hello! Can i still go with my interview with only have a xerox copy of my second birth cert.( the correct one )? Can i get deny for that? Or put me in AP? Coz i happened to have a double bc and need to cancel first my old reg. for me to get my new one..and im thinking, it will take so long and my interview will be on nov. 16..
Any advice will be highly appreciated.Godbless!
I understand that the US embassy requires your birth certificate to be issued by the NSO and printed in NSO security paper. so i dont think a photocopy will suffice.
It happened to me before, but i persisted that the NSO print the other one and after 6 trips they granted my request.

My mahal and me get approved today.....MY GOD!!!! Thank all of you who help us here. We could not have done it without you.
Interview was short. Easy questions. No Problems.
Congratulations guys and may God bless you always!!!

I need advice,i was shocked when i recieved my BC from the NSO today..they issued my "old registration" Usually when i request my BC before they issued my second registration.
I happened to have double BC registration..My first one is mistake of my parents that they put me as a Male with a male name..so they thot they will corrected it by again registered me last yr. 2000 with a new name that im using since i was born..I called the NSo and they inform me that i will go to my civil registry in the province to request them to cancel my first registration. And later when the cancellation recieve by the NSO, i will verify them if i can use second registration. My question is, how long this process? coz i'm worried i have my interview this coming nov. 16..
Is anybody here has a case of double registration??
Hoping for an answers...Godbless!
Hi,
I have almost same experience as yours. check this.http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=225909&st=0&p=3447782entry3447782
By the way i was advised by the staff in the NSO that everytime i request for a birth certificate, i attach a photocopy of the correct birth certificate in NSO paper so they can retrieve it from file and print it. Hope this helps

just to quick question. i just to know what my rights as filipina wife of US citizen .my husband was already died 2 days from now. what are my option and rights?
Sorry about the loss of your husband. I understand the feeling of losing a dear one and the desire to see him for the last time is extremely high. Try to contact the US embassy and explain your predicament. They might offer some options for you. Also be sure to get a true copy of your husband's death certificate.
Know no amount of words can console you at this time. But be strong and pray.

Congrats to you girl. so happy for both of you. God bless!!

My mom had the same case.. they were interviewed last Oct 13 and she submitted her NBI with aka, the next day 10/14. and until now, she is still waiting for her visa
.. I've been calling the US embassy and they've been telling me the same thing, maximum of 6 weeks if we didn't hear anything to call back.. Goodluck to you guys.. Hoping to get the visa soon..
Hi,
Hope your mom gets her visa soon. seems it take a long time before visa is issued once the consul requires another document. It would have been of great help if it was clearly indicated in the requirements that those with corrections/ previous name get the NBI certificate with alias.
Good luck!!

this link is useful too...i found this today
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=198143&hl=annulment+case+at+SLEC
Daisy,
Thanks for that link. hope those beneficiaries who had their marriages annulled read it so they are informed beforehand. Weeks ago, i also came across a post that those with annulled marriages are required to bring the court decision and order of finality during the medical exams. Again, thanks.

Can someone explain to me the expectations and/or pressures placed upon a Filipina who has married and American and now lives in the U.S.A.?
TexPamp
Just be yourself.
Additional comment.
My family does not expect any support from my husband.
I (filipina) pays for the schooling of my niece and nephews in the philippines. And those money are all from my own savings not from my hubby.
My hubby is willing to support my family if needed. He was quite worried with the recent Ondoy typhoon and asked me if my family needs some financial help. I told him that its my family and i'm the one responsible to support them. They have been taken care of.
I would say, the expectation depends on the woman you are going to marry and the in laws.
I agree with you. Its somehow disturbing that there are people who expect that once a filipina marries a KANO,then he marries the whole family as well and supports them. Be proud to be financially independent and not an enabler.

Hi everyone,
Im from General Santos City, southern part of Mindanao and known as the Tuna capital of the Philippines. Hometown of the boxing champ Manny Pacman Pacquiao. My fiance was born in California and now resides in Grapevine Texas.

Hi,
You said he was confined due to overdose of medicine. Do you know whats his illness and what medication/s is/are he taking and why was there an overdose? If so, do some research on the net abt it. It will give you more or less an idea of what to expect or the information will somehow lessen your worries.
At this point, being apart and not hearing a word from him will trigger your anxiety level to shoot up.Be careful on that. I have my fiance's neighbors number and office number so i think maybe you have theirs too, then call them. And as what other suggested, if you know the hospital then call the hospital.
Be strong!
Made it through the sputum nightmare

Hi congrats!!! saw that your fiance was negative in the sputum culture test and has completed the vaccination and got a new schedule of interview. May i know if the new schedule of his interview was given by st luke's or he requested for such date. I am interested to know coz my daughter's result will be on the Jan 18. Our planned departure is feb 6, and we are now looking into the possibility that my daughter can travel with us. Thanks.
