  1. Indian beneficiaries, I have a question:

Have all of you had your spouse's name added to the last page of the passport? Y'know the one with your parent's name, address etc?

    Hi Sachi,

I dont have my wife's name in my passport...i dont think its a mandatory to include the spouse name in the passport...BTW ur exp. during the medical is disgussting....Any ways I too have my medical scheduled on Apr 28th at apollo, chennai....Will share my exp. with u guys then....

  2. Thanks Ready2KI. I think I will follow this approach since I have nothing new to submit for my interview other than the medicals and proof of relationship. The consular will already have everything he needs to review before the interview. I will have the medical results only three days before the interview so it will be too late to submit to VFS anyway.

Also based on the interview letter I got they don't need any additional documents from me. Nothing is marked "A" in my interview letter.

My wife will be making the courier payment at the Cochin VFS sometime next week. She will be carrying copies of everything that was submitted to NVC for the interview. I really do not want to deal with another "three lettered" organization unless its mandanted laughing.gif

    Hi Guys,

For those who has their interview at Chennai Consulate, this is FYI....Just now called Chennai VFS, they said it is not necessary to submit any docs to them if we had already submitted to NVC. Only the Courier fee of Rs 387 has to be paid to them before 10 days to the interview...

Note - We have to carry all the docs to the interview...

  3. Thanks Sachi. I will wait till tomorrow to call VFS once they are back from vacation. My only concern about submitting additional documents to VFS was I will be submitting the exact same documents and the consular officer will be reviewing the same thing twice. One from NVC and one from VFS. Anyway if needed I have everything ready. Will keep you guys updated on what Chennai VFS has to say.

Sachi could you PM me the VFS receipts you talked about? Especailly if you have one for Chennai. Not exactly sure what these receipts are.

    Hay Sachi,

Can u please PM me the VFS receipt....Thanks

  4. Melody, I think Sachi will be able to explain to you since she is going through the same.

In Brazil we dont have to send anything else, just show up at the interview with 2 passport pictures, passport and medical.

But it seems in India you have to send a whole package with updated forms to a place called VFS. Wait til she comes back and hopefully she can explain everything to you.

Or even send her a PM.

    Good luck dear!!

    Hi All,

Interview letter has come...Wooohooo........All the best and good luck for all the people who got their interview date in May......Really this saying will go hand in hand with this process "patience is virtue of success".....

  5. Good morning guys!!!

It's Thursday already and no interview appointment.

Do you guys think they will make us wait till the 16th? Argh!

Hopefully it will be a early May interview, so I wont have time to suffer thinking about it. It already makes my stomach sick just to think about going to the Consulate. lol

Have a great day folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope they give us the interview date by this week....This wait sucks....They are obviously testing our patience....

  7. My husband's bills have been amounting to nearly $500 for the last couple of months.

We also stay in contact throughout the entire day via AIM, Skype, Facebook and text messages.

We've been trying to cut down on his phone bills. Managed to get it to $300 this month.

I've been urging him to get a Mother India account which is $10 for 500 minutes. Or Skype which is unlimited for $8 monthly.

Anyone know if there are special rates or such for Verizon?

    Hay Sachi,

I can suggest u to get an US number through skype which u can use to call ur parents once u reach US....It cost $30 per yr and ur hubby can get unlimited call times through his service provider for $40 - $60 per month......I have a US number via Skype and my wife is holding AT&T unlimitted connection for $60 per month and also she has Airtel connection which gives her 1000 Min talktime to Indian numbers for $10.....Also we do webcam chat via skype all day (except working hours).....This is how we stay connected......Hope this helps...
