  2. awesome! guess you went to collect it in person, huh? did you call vfs ahead and tell them to not courier it and just that you would come and pick it up?

my wife called up chennai and asked them what to submit to the VFS in bangalore - they said just the 387 Rs. i was a bit surprised; figured that they would ask her to give the medical report, but i guess she'll just take everything to the interview on the 10th. at this point, i dont know what the point of the VFS is - if you can pick up the passport yourself, then they're just making money for nothing...figures...

anyone keeping up with the latest ridiculousness with the indian govt and how they're treating PIOs (ppl of indian origin) who are US citizens??? any US citizen of indian origin applying for an OCI card, or any kind of indian visa has to cough up another extra f*****n 175 US dollars to get a stupid surrender certificate saying that they renounced their indian citizenship; never mind the fact that when you get US citizenship, by default, you surrender any other nationality. more reasons to just get the h*** out of India and the indian system...no wonder they're seeing the brain drain, with all this kind of BS and nonsense...

Ya, VFS fee is unnecessary for the people who can collect the PP in person.....i dont understand this stupid concept.....BTW i called them to chk my PP status and the guy who spoke asked me to come and collect the PP at counter or it will take couple of days to reach u thro courier....to reduce my antsy, i went there in person to collect my PP leaving behind the 390 bucks which i payed to them.....

  3. Didn't get the whole story yet but hubby said some confused lady interviewed him. I'm

assuming she is new or something. Asked hubby 4 times on what date we get married. You would think it's a trick questions after the 2nd time but 4 times, come on!!!! But worked for us!!!!!

He was told your visa is issued and he can try picking it up today & if not it will be delivered in 2-3 days.

But I'm confused about one thing, he didn't get no pink slip. Is he suppose to?

Also they didn't give him back the original waiver for the 2yr rule. Will that be a problem on the way to US? He has a copy.

Oh and only evidence the lady looked at was our & Giseles pictures.

Even I didnt get any pink slip, in fact no one before me got anything like that...Probably its the process for Indian consulates...

  4. Hi Guys,

Here comes by interview experience at Chennai Consulate......

Got there at 7.45 for my 8 AM interview..

    7.50 - Security Check

    9.45 - Pre-Screening by an Indian lady

    10.05 - Fingers Scanning

11.20 - CO interview by an American

    Pre Screening questions -

Ask me to submit a copy of my Birth and Marriage Certificate, Photos, Medical Report and to sign DS230 Part 2....She asked me few questions like how you meet her?, was it an arranged marriage, who arranged it....thats all

    CO questions -

How u meet ur wife, where did u meet her, whether she came here before wedding, where is her parents live, how many siblings she have, what she do in US, where are you working....thats it....then he asked me to put my right hand up to take oath and said everything is fine, you will get ur passport in a week's time, congrats........APPROVED

Whole CO interview lasted for 2 mins....Came out of the consulate by 11.30 AM and shared this news with my family and with all my relatives & friends.....

  5. Holy #######, we forgot Raj is before Tat! Wahooo Raj, best of luck

Tat, on the homepage bar up top it says "Reviews: Embassy/USCIS&POE" Click there and look up JFK. Your POE is your choice, just the first place in the US they land in, even if it's a connection to your final city.

I really wanted San Francisco to be his POE to be romantic and symbolic  but tickets are so crazy & sold out, we may have to have JFK or somewhere else. Don't care, as long as I get my movie kiss in the airport (L) (L)

Yeahhhhhh Tat and Jada(and Raj), right around the corner :)

It is 5 days, 3 hours, 19 minutes and 28 seconds until Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 9:00:00 AM (Tirane time)

    Hi Gina,

Thanks for your wishes....Will keep u guys posted abt my interview experience.....Do pray for me guys....

    45 Hrs to go....

    Raj
