  1. Noone answered my question? Two copies of I130, AOS, IV for interview or just one copy?

@IS one copy is sufficient from what I remember reading through here. My husband and I just made one copy of everything for him. NVC will send all the file to the consulate. The copy is just in case...things can come up missing during the transfer of the case so it is better to be safe than sorry. I have a copy for myself but it is scanned and uploaded into my computer.

  2. @Tabndan: yep, pretty big news, imo.

you can see it all on pg 231 and after. but to sum it up i sent an email to sup. sue on the 19th explaining that my husband's work contract ends on dec 31st and hes enrolled at a univ. here in the US starting Jan 10th, and while i realize these are not extreme circumstances, i was just wondering if there was anything they can do, etc. i called wed. before thanksgiving and the "live person" told me that my AOS was entered into the system on the 22nd. was still waiting for the IV to be entered (was delivered on the 18th). knew at that rate that hubby wouldnt be home in time for classes and would be stuck waiting jobless until interview day. didnt call black friday because i was out all day. decided to call today to check the AVRS and got "your case has been forwarded to embassy". checked, got SIF. checked DHL, found a Paris packet sent out from the NVC on the 24th scheduled to arrive monday in Paris. so it seems im now an "expediter". waiting for monday so that i can call the NVC and DOS to confirm. nervous about AP or something else going wrong. keeping my fingers crossed, hoping, and praying.

thanks for thinking of me :)

    CC for you Monday? :)

That is wonderful news good.gif Congratulations!

Keep praying and don't lose hope. Just make sure that your husband has copies of everything to take to the interview and go over the interview list with him, make sure he knows it all just in case they ask...wow so excited for you kicking.gif I hope and pray that he will be with you for the Holidays star_smile.gif

I am overjoyed with happiness today with all the good news here and still praying for the rest of the VJ family members that they get the good news they are waiting for. yes.gif

    Have a great weekend! rose.gif

  3. Ok, so I fell asleep for the last few hours (my back pain has been tons better, so I guess I am catching up) and when I woke, just for laughs, tried to sign in again.

Oh yes...SIF. On a Saturday, no less. It changed sometime between 8:30 AM PST and 12:45 PM PST.

Thank you, my fellow travelers, in bearing with me so understandingly and being supportive. You are good people.

Sweet kicking.gif one more with SIF Congratulations smile.gif

  4. Wow so much o read this morning good.gif a lot of good things are happening.

My husband and I went over the interview list of questions and documents to be sure we are all set.

I don't know where to begin and I don't want to miss anyone...star_smile.gif

    @Debby Congratulations on your SIF

@Malvika; LadyDare; Miami_Boy and Loto thank you for you well wishes biggrin.gif

@Loto, I am sorry to hear about your wife's ankle I hope it is not too bad ohmy.gif keeping it elevated above her heart with an ice pack and soaking the foot in salt waster help me.

Good luck to all that are still waiting on SIF and CC.

@IS I am sorry that you still have no news about your CC huh.gif

  5. hmmmm. Something tells me you probably got a CC already but the AVRS is not updated yet. Even mine says the same earlier message.Just checked the AVRS a few minutes back. Remember that one day last week when several people got SIF and CC on the same day. Me thinks you are on the CC list for the night, unfortunately there is not a fool proof way to check CC like SIF.

I am thinking the AVRS update statement for the night has not been committed yet. :)

I guess you will know it Monday from a NVC parrot or earlier if the AVRS gets updated. Good luck and keep reading

@svenkatc, Thank you star_smile.gif I updated my signature and the NVC tracker good.gif I am super excited and so is my husband I had to wake him up to tell him the good news yes.gif

@IS I agree with Svenkatc don't give up hope blink.gif comon now, cheer up please, we will not let you give up good.gif

  7. Just like you - same message, different date. Went from 11/15 to 11/21. I'm not going to worry so much anymore...it'll happen soon. Every single operator I spoke to so far, since I've been getting this message, has been telling me the same thing. It's all been consistent. I suggested to the last operator that they should just disable the AVR if it's not going to be updated with accurate info.

    >>> I suggested to the last operator that they should just disable the AVR if it's not going to be updated with accurate info. <<<

I agree with you Debby theres no use for it...and the operators are not much help either some times headbonk.gif

  8. No. Still no CC. :( I called about an hour ago (from now) and AVRS is still saying NVC received check list package. I called NVC once early in the morning. Talked to Tony who's a jerk. But he said it's still in final review. I don't know. I'm starting to not care about any of this anymore.

I'm probably gonna get an RFE. With my luck. People get CC on the same day as SIF or the day after. It's the 3rd day since SIF and no CC. :(

That's a bummer IS and I think you will get CC today latest Monday. I am happy to hear that you are keeping busy with reading a book good.gif have a great weekend star_smile.gif

  9. Yea, understand those two are a pain to replace. I guess you have to file N-565 and pay $345 to get your replacement NC. I believe it takes anywhere between 6 months to a year. I have color xerox'es of my NC and am thinking you might have them too. You will probably need the NC number to re-apply for the new one.

As far as Indian BC's is concerned, I think you can request them to provide another original submitting your copy and saying that you lost your original. If you don't have the time for that, there is a TTK (Prestige pressure cooker) group provided India service site for NRI's (yourmaninindia.com). You provide them a nominal fee and they will work with the local authorities to get your BC. I have used them before for something else and they have been pretty good.

Ohhhhh.... my..... goodness 6 months to a year for a replacement :bonk:and $345 on top of that :wow: that is crazy are they gonna print one letter per day and then walk it over to your house!!!! Unbelievable...

  10. My wife and family are leaving on Sunday flight to Chennai from Cochin. Ok, you may not be knowing those locations. It is around 1 hour by air between our home to Consulate. So, tomorrow (Sat) is the last day for them to receive the package. They will stay at Chennai the entire week to complete the medical, to collect daughter's Indian OCI from FRRO, Interview and to collect the passport (but this is only if interview is passed :star: ) and will come back on Sat morning flight back.

Loto, I will keep you in my prayers and hope that she will receive them today the latest tomorrow :innocent: Good luck my friend

  11. Tab,

For the last few weeks, no update from her :crying: She'll be exploring the U.S life :star:

Some good news and bad news from me.

Bad news first (not an eternal pessimist!): My package to India has not arrived yet. Today, USPS rep called me and they wanted to track with Indian postal system because the package is left from the U.S on the next day of mailing. They will mail a 'claim form' to my address and I need to fill it out. Then they will co-ordinate with Indian f'ng postal system and investigate

Good news: I have been a Consultant with my current client here for the last 3 years. Due to the client policy, they normally don't give such a long period to the Consultants. My boss offered and forced me to join here in a permanent position. I politely denied it because of the pay check. So, for the last 2 weeks, I was actively searching for new contract and got 3 offers - Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and NY life. Today, I spoke to my boss that my last day is by the end of this year and I am moving out. He immediately talked to his boss and got back to me to continue some more time as Consultant here. I told him, ok, if you give me another full year. They are talking each other and going to override the policy now :star:

    Loto

Yeah  I think you are right about Milena exploring :P

I am sorry to hear that your package did not arrive yet ;) I wonder if it is beeing held at customs!!!

Good news about another year extention with your company  I am am sure you are a great asset to them and they cannot aford to lose you.
