  1. Update: I was just bored right now and check to the NVC payment portal for the heck of it. And to my surprise i got a SIF. I didnt believe it at the first try, entered information again, got SIF again. didnt believe it again, did this 4 times and then had my wife try it as well and got the same result. SIF!!!!! Just to make sure i call the AVR to check what it says on there and i heard the

Your Case was completed on November 10, 2010. Please allow 8 weeks for further instructions.

I dont get it how i got the SIF without a checklist. I didnt submit my passport office PCC. I am hoping that I get an interview letter and checklist for it to take to the interview. Is there a chance for December Interview? PRAYING PRAYING PRAYING.

Thanks for your help everyone. really appreciate it.

YAHOOO Johndoe12  Congratulations! I will be praying for a December interview as well for you. With God all things are possible. Now you can enjoy the rest of the week

  2. I know Chennai has lot of horrible stories

It is Risk Vs Return game!

Only good part is we have gone through this process 2 years back. So, form filling, documents etc. are also same this time - triple checked everything :star:

But who knows at the end? Every officer is different! Rather I would say every day is different :star:

The denial of IR1 is very rare. AP is not denial - there are ways to get out of it!

But I need good luck and wishes from you guys :star:

    Loto

Loto, I will be praying for you and I wish you a speedy interview date and visa approval. good.gif

  3. You never know whether it works or not if you keep debating about it. They are not going to deny your case just because you sent them an email. Just explain to them that you were told that it normally takes 2 weeks for the case to be entered in to their system and that it has been close to 4 weeks (even though it is not and it is more like 3 weeks). They have no way of verifying when you mailed except for the return receipt that you probably have from them. Also, mention to them that people who have sent it after you have their case entered in their system. Tell them you are really worried about your packet having not made it to their systems.

Also, follow it up by escalating your case to a supervisor next week.

I also agree with you it would not hurt anything to talk with a supervisor or even email them... I would do both. Don't wait anymore.

Since NVC got my IV package on 11/4, you can get a good idea of when yours will end up in the system when I find out about mine. I'm not expecting mine to be in the system until next Monday. That's 11/15. So set your expectation very, very low.

 yeah I know  I will be trailing right behind you and still hoping for a December interview

  5. Good morning everyone :star: today will be a good day and NVC will work extra hard since they will be closed tomorrow  so we hope right?

I called the AVR last night after hours just so i can hear the automated message and it said "NVC is expecting return of the biographic forms by the petitioner... ".

Our IV packet was delivered to them on 11/08/10 and I am hoping that they will work faster to put it into the system then the AOS...

  6. Looks like there is no need to second guess whether they will be closed or not on Nov 11th. They will be closed as per the below link,

    http://answers.usa.g...E=en&COUNTRY=US

So if someone was planing to call them Thursday, they can call tomorrow or wait till Friday.

Yes, yes.gif you are correct I just spoke with NVC operator and she said that they are closed November 11th Veterans Day ... headbonk.gif slow down again...

  7. I ahve learned that it is their standard answer but it seems that anything I send always takes more time. Its been 18 days since the packages were delivered and still they are not in the system. It is kind of frustrating that it takes this long to just open the stupid package and send to appropriate department. I am just mad right now thats about it. Sorry guys :(

    @ johndoe12

I hear what you are saying and I agree with you...slackers :bonk: this precess should be faster. Imagine if we did not have VJ to rely on  it would be terrible...we just need to ask God for some extra patience. My husband just about had it too  hang in there and dont give up.

  9. My spouse is trying to get the Police Certificate in advance. She went to the local Police Station and they are asking for some sort of a letter from local consulate or immigration asking for the letter. Any ideas what I can show to show that we need a Police Certificate. We are not that far in the NVC stage yet but want to get it in advance for a speedy process.

    Thanks

    Caliguy77,

My husband was asked for this letter as well for the Police Certificate. He was told by the authorities in Greece that he needs a letter from NVC asking for this information.

I was told by an NVC operator to print off the list of ducuments required from their website and try it with that...but the only problem is that my husband (beneficiary) lives in Romania now and would have to travel to Greece for this. He already asked for it before he left that country 10 months ago and was told that he needed a formal letter from NVC asking for this certificate.

We were told by NVC operator to send our DS-230 in with all the other documents we do have and then once they receive it and go over it then we will receive a formal letter from NVC requesting the Police Certificate from Greece since this was one of the counties my husband lived in.

The certificate from Romania our native country he got within 30 minutes without any problems or a formal letter.

I hope this helps you and good luck with all of it.

P.S. Please update you Timeline so we can better assist you with your questions and alos other may possibly benefit from your questions as well knowing where you stand in your process. Thank you! :)

  10. i thought that as long as documents were in the native language of the embassy then you didnt have to get them translated to english?

im hoping & praying for no more RFE's along the way for anyone

and that the NVC puts their butt in gear so that all of us can be with our loved ones soon

and congrads to everyone that has advanced in the process or that have finished with it ! :)

Houston/Apollo - I was told by an NVC operator that the documents in the native language do not need to be transalated in english.
