  2. Hi all,

Is philippines appointment post or standard post? I am preparing the ds-230 package and plan on using the james and ling shortcuts to speed up the process.

If Philippines uses the appointment post, which I think they do, then I have to mail in all original docs with the DS-230packag; if it is Standard post thn my wife has to bring the original docs to interview.

Please let me knowif the Philippines is appointment post.

    Thnk you much

    Steve

im not sure if i did understand your question right, where are you planning to send the package? and what are the contents of the package aside from DS230? DS230 package should be sent directly to the benificiary by NVC not from the petitioner unless NVC sent it straight to you. but that in not the normal process if so...

  3. thank you for the reply.i will tel my friend about it.

    your welcome!

even though my answer is based on a friend of mine that had a same situation like hers but i would suggest to your friend and her fiance to seek legal advice from an attorney that has a visa knowledge.

  4. Hi Abby and Sheryl.

Congratulations! Rick and I are very happy for you. :)

Hope the Gods smile down on us and give us our I-129F NOA2 so we can do the K3/K4. Rick is very miserable right now...he wishes he never left the Philippines. :(

Am so happy you will be reunited soon. Take care!

i really understands how miserable your husband is for being away from you. coz my husband is the same. he comes home almost every month (here in PI) and we are so happy when we are together. but as soon as my husband steps in the airport he is miserably sad, lonely, empty and haft dead coz missing me. and this is how we always feel everytime we separate our ways. phew! being apart form each other sucks!!!

  5. you'll be in our prayers and hope that your wife's chest x-ray result turns out negative. however, st. lukes dont give a damn, if they see something suspicious and abnormality in the x-ray, the applicant is automatically subjected to undergo a 3-day sputum test as well as the 2 months culture test regardless of the sputum smear result.

good luck and just keep positive!

  6. hello fellow vj'ers ive been around here sometimes but this is my first post.anyway i have a question for a friend,my friend's fiance is a usc that is working in japan had a 3 yrs contract,my question is:is it possible for her usc fiance to file for a k1 while he's in japan?.your replies would be gladly appreciated.

a USC should be in the US while filing the petition unless he is a resident of the country where he works. but even still, the benificiary will intend to immigrate in the US therefore the petition must be filed in her finace's state.

    good luck!

  9. i would like to share the good news today..

    Aug.17,2009

My dad is working as a chef in a reefer ship and when Jamie my fiance

visited me last year in manila he never met him because my dad is still at work that time.

right now my father is enjoying his vacation...but he will leave the country again on Aug 29.

Jamie decided to talk to my dad to formally ask about marriage..

our only chance ..online proposal.. using the mic the camera and

with the loud speaker on.. he will ask my dad for my hand... gosh!

imagine.. i woke up very early 2am today so i could catch up

for his time in texas before he sleeps, to finish arranging

documents that he will send me, including researching about I-134..

and at the same time i'm checking VJ from time

to time if there is anybody who replied to our question..then waited for my dad to wake up to tell him

jamie wants to talk to him..

to make my noble short..sorry..long explanation hehe... :bonk:

they had a good conversation and i know both of them are really nervous..

my mom just smiled very noisy here earlier ...funny(both jamie and dad lost their tongue hehehe. lolz!)

my father gave us his blessings cool! and he told jamie to take care of me and love me.

im sooooo happy!!!

as i was reading your story, i suddenly remembered ours, when my husband (then fiance) sent a letter to my parents telling them his pure and real intention of me. my husband never wrote any letter specially for a woman but he tried his best just to let my mom & and know how he fell in love with me and how much he really loves me. that was so nice, sweet and romantic of my hubby and i was so touched by it.

happy to hear bout your story...

congratulations and good luck on your visa journey!

    sis,

jamie never proposed to anyone.. we are still talking about this few days ago

what he will do.. he said if he really needs to talk to papa, jamie said

he don't know what will he say, how will he start.. hahaha!!

he even researched on the net on how to do it! lolz

i just told him there is always a first time and it is up to him

i don't want to give him pressure..

it should be voluntary, i said just be yourself

jamie mentioned about talking to papa sunday morning in tx

but he changed his mind he said he don't know when he is ready..

until sunday evening.. or morning here in phils..

    and he did it!

    youch! that was sweet sis!

my husband did not tell me that he was going to send a letter to my parents. i just found it later when my mom received it and told me about it. :star:

  10. Got a PINK Slip today (A good one from the Embassy),,, 132 days... For a CR1...

We got to the embassy at 7:10AM, we got our number around 7:15am. (Interview schedule was 8:30am).

7:30am , She was called for finger scanning.

She was pre-screened first about 8:00am. Questions asked were: (1) Her Name; (2) Her DOB; (3) How we came to know each other; (4) His first visit; (5) Date of Marriage; (6) His Previous Marriage(s) (7) When he arrived for this visit (8) asked for our marriage PICs (9) Commented about our marriage being done during our first meeting. (10) Asked for other PICs and W2. We gave her other PICs (she asked if we had PIC of wife signing marriage cert. We didn't just husband. She was shown our copy of I-864 which had W2 for 2008. she then found that paper in her file) The interviewer said,,, ok. She was asked to sign the Part 2 of DS230. No additional papers requested. Then we were asked to sit down. Took about 10 minutes

Our number was up for final interview at 10:30am went inside about 10:40am

Consul was young and he was all business. I carried in the paperwork and asked Consul if he would like me to stay or leave. He aked if I was the husband. I said, "Yes" and her told me to have a seat. He asked her, DOB, Name, If she have been outside the countryand if she had a previous child She said 'No'. And, then I got all of the questions,, About my past marriage and if children, etc. Nothing about bonafide marriage. He gave back the PICs we gave the 1st interviewer and said, Visa Approved.

We asked if we could pick up the visa, he said "They only allow delivery via Air21". He said it will be delived within the week or early next week.

Went to releasing window 37, the girl gave me a pink slip. And we asked for pick up, she said "Only Air21".

Paid for the Air21 courier service (to hotel in Manila 205p). Left Embassy at 11am.

PS... Thanks TNGirl,,, I copied your message format....

Congratulations to you both and have a safe trip soon! :star::thumbs::star:

arent you a little old to be with her?!? what the?!?

    :oops::diablo::reading::rofl:

  12. my interview experience:

i wake up early at 3am, i went to US Embassy at 5am, i just found out that my DS Forms 156 that i have is invalid i did not notice this bar code on the last page and one thing wrong i just handwritten it which is not good and i have been told its not acceptable, ok i went to the nearest printing area and print my new DS form 156 and it cost 245pesos and it cost too much but i dont have choice, a fixer help me to find this place, not far from US embassy, then i rush back to US embassy and show my interview schedule with my voters ID, and fall in line, ok everything went well, its so cold inside the US Embassy, then i fall in line for them to check all my DS forms and my interview schedule then they gave me a number they always said to some beneficiary to never leave any blanks on the forms, after few minutes then they called my name and done my finger scanning, then like an hour, i saw my number on queue board and i went for my pre interview and go the specific window, its a filipino interviewer

    She ask me this

    My NSO birth Certificate

My cenomar- (my certificate of no marriage is one month old)

My NBI - (my nbi clearance is 1 week old)

Whats the name of your petitioner

    His job?

    How old is your petitioner?

Whats your relationship to your petitioner?

When and how did you met

    If i have work?

    Is your petitioner have kids/children?

When was the first and last visit?

    Age gap? 15 years

    If we have traveled together?

how many times he visited me?

    if i have kids?

    if i am married now?

She ask my fiance' affidavit of support and i show her my folder, and what i did is remove it one by one from my plastic filler because she just want to staple it and so that the consul can easily read, she get the following:

    Military ID copy

Notarized Affidavit of Support Form 134

Form 1040 Income Tax return 2008

    Pay Stub end of 2008

Form W2 for the year 2008 only

she didnt ask the bank statement although she just look at it and didnt ask any divorced decree and she didnt ask any of the previous marriage of my fiance

she ask me if we have pictures together and i gave to her my 2 folders:

    Evidence of Genuine Engagement:

Our Letter of Intent to Marry with Love Story

    Engagement Ring Receipt

Engagement Day with Family Pictures (with captions)

    Engagement Ring Photos (with Captions)

Evidence of Meeting Prior to the Petition:

Fiance Copy of US Birth Certificate

Fiance Copy of US All Passport Pages

All Hotel Receipts with other receipts used during visit

Evidence of Solo and Pictures together (with Captions)

    Itineraries from Travel

Thats it, then after 1 hour i saw my number on queue board and i went to the final interview, and he greet me good morning and he told me to sit down and raise my right hand, that i am swearing all the information that i have submitted are true and i will be honest to all the answers, and i said YES! his young around 30's

here his questions. while he is typing on his computer

When was the first and last time you saw your fiance?

when and how did you met?

    and how many days?

how could you marry a person if you just spend a short days with him? he repeat this question twice to me and i repeat the same answer

is your fiance is still in iraq?

what his job in Army? Chief---CW4

    if i have kids?

    is your petitioner have kids?

have you been traveled outside the Philippines? my answer is NO, not yet and never

    have you been traveled together?

    if i was married before?

and he check my cenomar, nbi and birth certificate and DS forms and he said OK YOUR VISA IS APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he talked fast and i answered fast, i think my final interview to him is just 2 minutes

i just notice he didnt ask this from me because iam ready to show it:

    any emails and chats

    remittances

    letters together

copy of cards sent by my fiance to my mom and my letter

fedex receipts and fedex received package photos

    our webcam pictures online

    our call history online

on my pre interview and my final interview i saw our I-129F APPROVED STAMP from national visa center, our G-325A with my fiance's 2X2 pictures there, if i am not mistaken the photocopy of my fiance passport all pages and birth certificate, the divorced decree of my fiance is attached there, and the letter of approval from NVC are attached together with my medical result completed from St. Lukes and all my DS forms with my birth certificate, cenomar and nbi, and all my fiance affidavit of support that the pre interviewer get from me, i notice its a bulky documents that they put together with my passport. but i didnt saw our emails and pictures that my fiance sent to Vermont Service Center, the final interviewer bring back my 2 folders and thats it.

I think that would be my travel document that i will carry on.

Thanks God! i didnt feel nervous during my interview, coz i was talking to my fellow beneficiary that having problem to their process, i feel sad for them, when im done with my final interview i keep looking for them but i didnt saw them, hope their visa is approved also.

Keep faith everyone, its a rewarding feeling to be approved!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Anyway good luck to you abby and sherryl you will be fine.... important reminder if your evidence is more presentable they will not ask you too much question this is base from my experience they ask me only 2 things and thats it!

hey i know u r right but i am so lazy to go to phil bcz i took 3 trips to phil in the last 8 months. my wife knows i love her and i am always there for her. i am still going to drive 6 hours to houston to pick her up at the airport. thank u for wishing us luck. abby n sheryl

in 13 months my husband have already made 7 trips to visit me over here. though trips here in fili costs money and the long flight is terrible and tiring but my husband never get tired and lazy of doing it coz that is the only way that we could be together while we are waiting for our visa journey to be over. my hubby is coming home again soon for the 8th times, and this time, is to support me on my interview and picking me up at the same time and my beloved husband's happy to do it.

anyway, good luck to you both and good luck to sheryl's upcoming interview. assume that she will take the pink slip home.

    God Speed!

  16. Just got married last Saturday.

When the priest asked us if we had some fights. We both said yes at the same time. Then, the priest said we're so true to each other.

Well, whether small or big fight/arguments, its still fight/arguments. It can't be avoided but it should be resolvable.

During the times that we had some sort of things, we both talked but one at a time, then silence and a little bit time to reflect why we had arguments or fight. Then, comprise, and kiss & make up. We don't have fights that didn't last for one day.

Before my husband and I got married, we had a big fight, a very 1st fight ever since we hooked up, fight that had put our romance in a risk, to the extent that it almost put our relationship to an end. However, we did not view our fight as a bad part of our lives but we view it as a lesson instead. Even we are thankful for that, coz we leraned more about each other and became more understanding and loving. It helped us to grow up some more and taught us how to handle a complicated situation and have taught us how to resolve fight proactively and willingly fast. We believed and trust from the very beginning of our relationship, that our love is true and our intenstion for each other is for real, the fight that we had shows that we are not only for real but also helped us to realized that we are indeed meant to be together forever. It helped us to recognized and appreciate more each other.

I am the type of person that quite when angry and dont say anything until I calm down, coz as much as possible I dont want to say any hurtful words to my love ones, specially to my hubby. It's a human nature, that when people upset they become mean by their words but then they would regret and sorry for it after they realized what they've said.

Hubby is the talker whereas Im the quite one, but we knows each other better now, so its no longer big deal to us when conflicts comes along, coz as a matured married couple, we reflects and talk about it and resolves it now easy, fast and in a loving and respectful way.

    God bless us all!

  17. uhmmm first want to say to the person who posted this thread.. thank u...well, its very interesting and couples should check out on this thread hehehe...

we don't really disagree on things but if we got a problem, one posted here they never go to bed and sleep with a problem... its one of our agreement.... think i am the talker    coz he just keep quite and he always understands me.. wow glad he has that patience on me.. we both always says what we want and what we don't like that's why maybe we are not fighting.... and one thing more... why we dont fight?... BCOZ I AM NOT HIDING ANYTHING TO MY FIANCE.. AND VICE VERSA... THAT'S ONE I REALLY LOVE ABOUT MY FIANCE... HE IS NOT LIKE OTHERS WHO HIDE THINGS.... we admit or not keeping secrets to our half is one of the main source of disagreement... in a relationship there should be LOVE, TRUST, UNDERSTANDING AND RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER....   I CAN SAY I HAVE A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY FIANCE...

your welcome happyme! im glad you find this interesting and happy to hear that you have a healthy relationship. just continue what you've got now and make it even happier and more healthy even after marriage.

  18. before i always wanted to have the last word and tried to win every argument. however i realized that it wasnt healthy and it wasnt right. now, i have learned to deal with arguments fairly and i dont try to win every argument anymore, there are no prizes anyway.

nice attitude of you sasha! me, i never want to win the argument but hubby used to do. but as a grown couple we discussed everything that we dont like during this kind of situtaion. so he've changed it and now we would just laugh at it. :star:

  19. hello everyone!

it may not be a visa related forum, but it is very much relevant to our individual lives...

talk about how are we handling/resolving the situation of having disagreement, argument and to avoid conflict with our love ones...

sometimes in our marriage or in a relationship, we and our spouses/fiancees have a little disagreements, arguments, and conflict that turns to a big fight that some would abuse their partner verbally that leads them to hit each other physically, which is wrong and most/all of us don't agree...

when my husband and i having a argument, we prefered to be left alone and give each other some times (we call it time out..lol) to be quite, think and calm in order to avoid conflict as much as possible. after a little while, we come back (from being quite), talk about it, apologize and back in each other's arms again and im glad that in one year of our marriage, so we never had any conflict nor will have a fight. however, during this little thing, im quite whereas my husband is a talker one. lol!

what about you....how do you and your partner resolve your arguments?

me and my hubby never really had an argument or fight...but sometimes i made my hubby mad hehhehehe...like ignoring him...he hates being ignored...or i get sad out of nothing especially things that he didnt do...

my hubby is the talker and i just cried and just keep quite like a lil girl hehhehehe...then when he is done talking i always asked him are you still mad at me...then he will say "you big baby getting sad for nothing" and we will just laugh...

when it comes to like that its just like a man and a lil girl having conflict so it doesnt really go to a serious conflict...thats how me and my hubby are.

my husband is the same. he hates being ignored and when i do that to him sometimes (teasing) he would get up, come to our bedroom and turn on the music loud on the computer so he could not hear me calling him. :star: then me being a teaser, would climb up to the sink and turn off the main switch.:bonk:

  20. I'm glad for us that we found these exemplary men to share our lifetime with. I can hardly wait to get married.

Please include me in your prayers. I really want to be with him again soon. We are still waiting for the NOA2. It'll be three months on the 29th since he sent the I-129F on May 29. I'm sure you had your share of the waiting period for the K1 Visa back then.

im under CR1 so i dont really have that much information with regards your query. based on the other's timelines, some of them here were approved 3 months later after they received their NOA1. but its a case basis...dont worry sis, yours will come soon. just hang in there...

    you'll be in my prayer...

    God bless!
