  1. Man, took me forever to find our Sawasdee thread!!! We were wayyyyyyyyyy down the list.

An email with the letter from my Congressman, all the attachments, went to the BKK embassy today. I am told they are required to answer them within 14 days but usually answer within 5. So they will have it on Monday

and I am hoping Teaw just gets a call to come pick up the visa. The attached letters from family and my explanation of the quick demise of the mistake marriage should hopefully satisfy their curiosity. I am surprised we

have not heard anything from them yet after that last 2 hour interview of Teaw.

Laddawan's interview is this friday the 16th and I was just wondering how long you were seperated before you filed the K1? I was seperated for over 17 months before I filed my K1. Just wondering if this would have any bearing on getting the K1. Thnx

  2. Bleh! Forget IAH and LAX. Book a flight from BKK to NRT to DFW. Spend a few days enjoying Dallas then drive on down to Houston taking the super scenic route through Austin and the Hill Country. If she's coming soon, stop in Fredericksburg and pick peaches and veggies. Stop on by SA and come visit Husby and me. And then you can return to Houston. Remember, Texas is bigger than Thailand. I'm sure she showed you Thailand, now it's your turn.

All fun aside, I think entering through DFW would be better than entering through LAX or SFO. I don't know about passing through as a non-citizen, but I definitely enjoyed DFW more than LAX.

Thanks for the advice and the invite. However my mother is going on a trip to New Jersey for a month and I hoping Laddawan will be here in time to spend time with her before she leaves. Only time will tell

  3. Yeah POE is the first place you enter the US. So LAX will be the POE even though she is changing planes there. I'd shoot for the direct to Houston option if I were you. Immigration at LAX is a zoo, or it least it was last time I went through there. DFW was easy, and I'm sure Houston is probably fairly easy.

Yeah houston was fairly easy for me going through upon my return from Thailand...thnx for the advice take care.

  4. If she goes through LAX, that will be the POE. If she has luggage, she will need to collect it and recheck it at LAX for the flight to Houston. It's kind of a pain. Would be easiest for her if the POE was Houston.

Oic....so rechecking her luggage would also mean going through immigration as well in LAX? Yeah it really does seem like a pain...but for approx $400 cheaper ticket making another stop in LAX might be worth it. Thnx

  5. Hey guys I have a POE question...see if you guys can help me out. We are looking into Laddawan's possible options for her flight to Houston. One option is is from Bangkok to Narita then to LAX to Houston at a good price on continental.com on July26th.

Now her final destination is here in Houston, but would her POE be LAX or Houston? Also what would she need to do upon her arrival to LAX....I dont believe she has to go through immigration or anything untill she gets to Houston is this correct? Thanx for the help guys

  6. Did you outline all that in your letter you sent with the visa packet? They grilled Teaw and The Bears' husband a lot about our exes. So to be on the save side you might want to make sure she knows some specifics

OR send a letter to her that she can take with her that explains the timeline of your separation, meeting her, the divorce, etc. I am assuming your ex is not Asian. If she is, then they might look harder into the divorce

aspect. Better safe than get put into AP like we did. You could also write the letter, have her keep it with her at the interview and if they start asking a lot about your ex and the divorce she can just whip it out and

give it to them and let them read it then.

Oh and no she was not asian she was american....what was I thinking

Yeah I made it clear in the visa packet I sent about my divorce and etc...but it sounds like a good idea about sending some specific dates to Laddawan for her to have on hand at her interivew. Thanks for the advice

  8. Not sure how long ago your divorce was, but make sure she knows a lot about it. They seem to ask a lot of questions about your ex if it was anywhere close to when you met your fiancee or did the visa. Good luck!!

I had been seperated for about 16months before I met with Laddawan in Thailand....upon my return back from Thailand I instantly started the divorce process then 4 months later it was finalized. Then about a month later we started the K1 process. I hope this doesnt cause a problem to the embassy.

  9. Dang, it's been real quiet in here for quite a few days. We are moving to the end of the line!! I am hoping the embassy will call Teaw Monday with good news. She is going to go see her family on the 30th for 3 or 4 days as Western Digital is closing for inventory she said. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Yeah it has been a little quiet on here, lol! Kinda funny how many of us are divorced and are going through the visa process....myself included. Atlest knowing some of the questions they will possibly be asking Laddawan about my previous marriage....is very helpfull. However she has her first practice interview with our visa company on tuesday the 29th and her real interview on July 16th....so as much practice as she can get will help out alot too Im hoping!

  10. Matt,

Totalled it while I was sleeping and while it was sitting in my driveway. So the police are still investigating it and etc. I really need this added stress in my life right now as well as hoping Laddawan's interview will go well. Could be worse I guess, lol. 11. For all of you who have impending interviews, I wish you and/or your fiancée's all the best.

Like Toma's wife, mine had a fairly uneventful interview. My wife told me shortly afterward that she believed they had already decided on her case and the interview was just a formality. The questioning was light and the lady hardly paid attention to her, but rather was transferring information from my wife's file into the computer. When my wife would give her answer the lady. not looking up, would just say "uh-huh," "ok," "mmmh," etc.

I'm confident for all of you who are next!

And you can thank your stars that the bald man is no longer there interviewing, From the stories, he seemed like the boogie man.

Glad to hear all the good news and that the chances are really high for sucess. We have lots of evidence so we are both feeling confident....but there is that one little part of me that is still worried to death. As the day gets closer Im gonna be climbing the walls here, lol!!!!!!

    Matt

  12. They told us the same thing. We sent our packet 3 on May 10 and our interview is scheduled for June 22nd (total of 7 weeks). Bear in mind this includes the days the Embassy was closed during the protests. You may very well be earlier than expected.

Yeah we are hoping to be earlier but right now we are just hoping for her to have her interview before the middle of next month(july) and be here before the end of the month(july). Luckily for me our wedding was easily moved to the end of September with no problems... Yeah the Embassy being closed messed up alot of things....just glad its back open though!!!!!

    Matt

  13. Yeah they DEFINITLY need to put in some overtime!!!! Makes me wonder if they will be as meticulous in their reviews of cases and interviews or will they just try to get through them to free up all the backed up cases? Still waiting for our interview date.... Well in my luck they will probably just work at their same current speed :( Oh well life goes on, have a good memorial day everyone!!!

    Matt

  14. Sorry but those embassy employees need to get back to work and start earning their money!! They get enough paid holidays in Thailand!!! Ya, I'd love to ask them on facebook if they are going to

give the visas and AP cases some extra attention to clear them out faster now that they have lost time.

Yeah thats what Im hoping too...knock out all the visa's quickly that have backed up. Although we are still waiting for our interview date...come on Thailand!!!!!

  15. Hey guys long time no see... Im still around here on this crazy journey lol. Dam sorry to hear about that drew hope everything works out for you. Just heard today that the US embassy in Bangkok will be closed for a while untill all the fighting and all the redshirt stuff calms down there. Just my luck considering we were waiting for our interview date any day now. Still keep praying everyday for our visa to be completed...dam its killing me!!!!!!!!

    Matt

  16. Oh my god say it isnt so...Laddawan and I are waiting for her interview at the us embassy anyday now! This is terrible....come on Thailand please please please!! :crying:
