  4. Well #1 clean the house. #2 Read books in bed. #3 Do some sort of walking/exercise. #4 Talk to the hubby anytime you can, Skype is awesome, or the phone whatever. #5 Send hubby the other pillowcase off your bed. #6 Send care packages to hubby. #7 Print off more immigration papers if there is any. #8 Go out with friends/family. #9 Watch alot of television. #10 Go to work. Do these things, not in this order however. This is what I do. Works somewhat. Goodluck newbie, you'll get through it.

Ps #11 Analyze time line data on this website and read the posts till ur blue in the face. ( i do that lots!)

Thank you for your suggestions I did this already but not effective on me. I played games on computer too. I guess making hard for me when I did not talking to my hubby everyday. One day passed by without talking to him it feels like Forever.

My wife and I were married in the Philippines on March 21, and I had to come back to the states on March 25. The first few months went by excruciatingly slowly. Being apart from the one you love is never easy. We talk on Yahoo Messenger twice a day usually. 5 AM here is 8 PM for her, and we can almost always talk then, since we got her a laptop last December. Lately, she has not been able to come to talk in the evenings here because there is no connection at her work right now. Just hang in there. It is by no means easy. Accept that you are apart for now and that will change after you've gone through the process, but that takes a lot of time, especially when you are missing your loved one. Just talk online as much as you can with your husband. Set up a regular schedule to talk. It's not the same as being together, I know. But sharing the minutae of day to day happenings is comforting. Nothing can take the place of being together. It's just a sad fact of life that there are many of us on here who are separated from our loved ones. Time and patience will bring us all together.

Thank you for the advice you given to me. I really appreciated it. I did the best I can to not felt miserable everytime I thinking my husband living without him. I always have time to talk to him but the saddest part he is always busy almost everyday since he flew back to his country. There's a sometimes he did not contact me for 3 days I got worried to him. I dont know what's happening. I cant kept myself to not wondering why? I felt terrible that moment I cried every night. I am trying to be strong for my husband as much as I can.

  7. Not to complain. To express Congressional interest in any given case. For those of us who are in a very close Congressional District, as am I. They do indeed send a letter to USCIS, who notes that there is Congressional interest in a case. It just does not expedite the processing, but in the event there is a subsequent issue, you already have elicited the support of your local Congressional Representative.

I posted this because there has been much chatter about this being done, and I wanted to share with others that this is not a reliable or effective route to expedition. Sorry if this post offended. It was intended to be impormative and informational.

  8. I am a July filer. Received my NOA-1 July 14, 2009. This date, I forwarded all relevant documents to my US Congress woman and requested they make a Congressional Inquiry. Many have suggested this as a tactic to have the file immediately pulled and looked at. In other words, the Congressional Inquiry would serve as a Request to Expedite in disguise. We, I shall attach what I received back. Obviously, this type of attempt will not work. I hope this helps all of you others who wish more than anything that we could just find a way to get CSC moving faster.

    Mr. Poston,

I received your privacy release and supporting documents for your petition to bring your wife to the United States.

It looks like you filed in July of this year. California is now taking approximately 5 months to get to new cases, meaning they will start processing your petition approximately November or December. Once they process and approve, then it goes to the National Visa Center in New Hampshire where you will get another packet of forms to fill out and more fees to send in. Once the NVC is done processing and approving, they will hold onto the file until there is an interview slot open at the Embassy in Manilla. At that time they will send a packet to your wife and advise her of the interview date and time.

Manilla is one of the top two busiest posts in the world and sometimes the wait is pretty long. It has nothing to do with what is valid or not valid, it is a matter of first in, first out.

There is no basis for an expedite in this situation as that typically requires a life or death situation be present for one of the spouses or children.

I am afraid at this point, your option is to wait for California to process and approve or not and go from there. If you get to January and have not heard anything yet, then it would be time to make an inquiry and see if there is a problem.

I know this is not the answer you would like, but the immigration process can be a long and frustrating process, but most applications move through without any complications.

    Sincerely,

    Pat Paradise

  9. Thank you for the prompt response. I am already married to her, and did not do enough research on this issue prior to filing the I-130. I have seen many arguments that by now filing the I-129F, it may hender the process. I guess my specific question is what the time line is in California for stand alone I-130/K3 as opposed to doing it as a finance visa or K1. That everyone for their input and suggestions.

  10. Hello everyone:

I sincerely appreciate the quality of information and encouragement that is provided on this site and throughout the forum. My name is Eric. I filed the I-130 through the Chicago lockbox, and it was treansferred to CSC. I received the NOA-1 on July 15, 2009. I have prepared the I-129F. However, I have seen alot of divergence on advice concerning the I-129. It is a requirement that I file. If I file, is it likely to slow down or stop the processing of the I-130? I cannot really ascertain which one is processed faster by California Service Center. Based on everyones experience, would you just go stand alone I-130 or would you go ahead with the I-129F process? I really appreciate some good, solid advice on this issue.

    Eric
