  1. 2 weeks... their yankin your chain.... although "possible" usually about 6 weeks for the GC is more realistic, if you reach the 8 week point, make an infopass appt... SS card is hit or miss, if you have not received it yet, go the social security office and they can get you the number ASAP and the card a week after...

Thank you Christeen for the advice. I still wait until Friday if still not yet get my SSN. I will go to Social Security Office to get my SSN number.

  4. My visa interview was set at 830am. I arrived at the US embassy at around 630am with my mom and aunt. There was no line at the Immigrant Visa line so I was able to get in as soon as I got there. Lucky me! :) Then I went to the Immigrant Visa Unit and got my number from the lady at the counter. She took my appointment letter and asked if I don't need to go back to St. Luke's. I said no. I sat down and waited. I was observing the pre-screeners from Windows 17-20 and the guy on Window 19 was the only one using his microphone. I was sitting at the back near the CR but I could still hear his questions. So I was thinking I hope this guy doesn't call me. But what do you know, God has a sense of humor and HE called me! Oh well, so I went to him. He was a serious looking man and was all business. He was nice and not rude. He was addressing me in Tagalog and asked me the following questions:

    1.What's your name?

    2.When's your birthday?

    3.How old are you?

4.The petitioner is your husband right? Where and how did you meet?

5.How many times has he visited you?

    6.When was the last time?

7.How did he come to be in the US? (I told him he was born there)

    8.Is this your first marriage?

9.When did you get married? Where?

    10.Has he been married before?

    11.What does he do?

12.I see you worked for (bank's name), which branch? (I mentioned 3 branches)

13.Have you ever been outside of the country? (I told him Taiwan when I was 14 for a Girls Scout training)

14.How long were you in Taiwan?

Then he asked me for my NSO certified BC, my CEMAR and the proof of relationship. I pulled out my binders and he took both of them. He checked one of the binders and saw that I only had 2 remittances from my husband. He asked me if my husband sends me money. I told him only when it's needed. So he told me to sit and wait for my name to be called for finger scanning.

I waited a while for the finger scanning. Then I heard my name being called to go to Window 33. The guy behind the Window is a kind looking African American guy. When it was my turn he had a hard time looking for my file. I said “Sir, it's that one on top of the others.” He joked with me and said “How did you know?” But he was smiling. I had no problems with the scanning. I was told to sit down and wait again so I did.

Then after some more waiting, my number flashed and it's time for the final interview. I got called into Window 32. The CO there was a young caucasian man. He was friendly and nice. We greeted each other “Good Morning” and then he told me to raise my right hand and swear that everything I will say is true. To which I replied “Sir, do you want me to stand up while I swear?” He looked up to me and I realized he was surprised that I asked that question. He told me “It's okay to do it sitting down.” So swearing done, he flipped through my files and asked me the following questions:

    1.What's your name?

    2.When were you born?

    3.How did we meet?

4.When was the last time I saw my husband?

    5.Is this my first marriage?

    6.Has he been married before?

    7.What does he do?

8.Have I ever been outside the Philippines?

9.When was his first marriage terminated?

He then double-checked my hubby's divorce papers to see if my answer was correct. Good thing I read that entire thing when hubby sent it to me  Every once in a while during the interview he would type something in his computer. Then after checking the date on my hubby's divorce papers he told me “Well your papers seem to be in order. Your visa is approved. Welcome to the United States.” I said thank you and then he said welcome and told me to wait outside for my name to be called for further instructions (on the visa delivery). I said thank you again and he said you're welcome again

I sat and waited (again) and then heard my name to go to Window 37 where a Filipino guy issued me the pink slip we all have been wanting to get. It's a Visa Delivery Fee Payment  I thought it was something more fancy :) The guy told me to go fill up the form attached to the pink slip and then go to Air21 counter and pay my delivery fee. I paid 236 pesos for it. They said visa delivery is about 10 working days. That's long :( Bummer!!

That's my experience. Hope you all get your pink slips too!

Congratulations Abbie, I smiled when I read your comment to the Pre Screener. When I was in the USEM on my interview that was I thinking that window 19 will not called me but lucky me he called me and his speaker so loud that everybody can heard what he asking for me. After I am done to him the guy approach me he have many questions to you we heard it all. hahahaha I said yes he speak louder.

I am happy for you Abbie. I hope we get the visa this week.

  5. Thank you GuardinOne!

It will be good that my husband will be with me! Do you have an idea if husbands are allowed to enter the interview room?

Hello metro, Your husband allowed to the interview room depends on the CO if he wants him to enter the room with you. Do not be so nervous you will do fine. Abbie I think she got PINK SLIP. You will too GO GO GO girl. GOODLUCK :thumbs::thumbs:

Welcome to the newbie of the February thread.

  7. Hello Andrea, MQ, Abbie, Ms. Sheka, Metro and everybody here on the thread of February. I GOT THE PINK SLIP APPROVED :dance::dance::dance: Its time for me to celebrate. Soon I will live with my husband Forever. I can't wait to be with him.

To make it short to my experienced to my interview the Pre Screener was so nice to me. He was shocked to my application of petition because my hubby sent the papers so thick more than you could imagined. I didn't even know it was so thick until pre screener told me all the evidence was there. The pre screener making smile because of the heavy and thick files of mine. He even told me your husband making sure you will be approved.

    Pre screener question:

    1. When is your birthdate?

    2. Who is your petitioner?

    3. How many times he got married before?

    4. How many children he have?

    5. When did you get married?

    6. When and where did you met?

    7. When is the first time you met in person?

CO asking me same question as the pre screener did. she focus to the thick application and looking for the papers she needs while looking at the papers she said this is the thick files I have ever seen then she told me everything I need are here so your VISA APPROVED. CONGRATULATIONS!!! WELCOME TO UNITED STATES. Yeah Its time to PARTY :dance::dance:

  8. My fiancee is going for her K1 interview at the embassy in Manila next week. She was told that there was a fee that she would have to pay at the embassy of around 1600 pesos for the courier and processing fee. Does this sound right? I can't see anywhere about a processing fee. We paid the $131 already.

Document Verification is totally slashed out from the entire process. However, don't forget to pay the VISA APPLICATION FEE of 131$ at any BDO branches. You can bring a copy of your DS157, one that has already been filled out and encoded and show it to the teller. The teller will then notarize the form with the BDO seal and will provide a receipt (USEM will get the white copy while you can keep the blue one).

Sorry the earlier I respond is wrong coz I thought you are CR1 like mine. Here is the correct respond to your question.

  9. Hello there, I don't think she will pay courier for 1600 its only 205 pesos for the AIR21 visa delivery that is the only fee she going to paid of. Next week is my interview too but the only fees I am going to pay is 205 pesos for the shipment of my visa. what is her schedule date next week mine is February 02 8:30am.
