  1. So how's the progress with NOA2s, medical appointments and interview? I'm waiting eagerly to hear some good news! :D

Dave's medical is in a week and a half. P3 was signed for by London today. It took them 2 weeks for the box from NVC to be processed and the P3 letter to be sent to Dave. I know of people who sent their P3 letter back on 10/12 and they still do not have an interview date though.

    Hurry up and wait wait.

  2. Hi guys,

Bit of a strange one, so dont know if anyone can shed any light. My mum and I were just going through my files to get things in order, when my mum started reading through my birth certificate, she noticed something which may cause me a problem. My dad was adopted, but didnt know this at the time of my birth. His place of birth listed on my birth certificate, is not actually where he was born, just where he thought he was born. I have put on my forms, that he was born in the place we now know to be his true place of birth.

Now, I dont know if this will be a major problem, as he was born in England, its just that the town is different.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If you are petitioner: Well you didn't lie on the app! You can always send a follow up letter to USCIS if you are really worried about it.

If you are the benefitor: Some people have asked to have that corrected at the interview. It seems very logical when you explain it. I'm sure you won't have problem.

  3. I went off of the linked timelines! Some only have initials, I can understand that some may feel a need for privacy.

    Simon & Janet -

Russ& Rachel - Russ & Rachel (One of my favorite British posters! I mostly interact with the USC women waiting for their blokes :P )

    Kitty23 - Ileana & Pablo

    Musho - Azra & Faruk

Pdcvcm - Victoria (USC poster with fiance, Paul)

    EasternDe -

    ITT -

    Colleens -

    Oldahmed -

Peruvy&Gringa - She doesn't have it listed so I will leave off and let her volunteer

JewelX - Julie (USC poster with fiance, Dave)

Feel free to add to the list.

    Hugs to all,

  4. Just to stick my two cents in about interviews. They do sure seem to be dragging and doing nothing, but a couple weeks ago we were all waiting for them to enter our various packets and apps into the system, and that seemed to happen all at once. So maybe there will be a flood of interview dates.

Historically, with the cases I've watched since March, they tend to swoop in and give you your date just in the nick of time to work with the dates you wrote for your planned travel, right? At least it seems that way. Like they keep track of the date that you're flying, they give you a date a couple weeks before that, and they tell you the date a couple weeks before THAT, if that makes any sense.

I'm sure the medical went well! Ours is in less than 2 weeks and Im sure I will be nervous as well.

Our P3 was sent through Royal Mail and is to be delivered before 9 am tomorrow. It doesnt seem like he was too happy about everything I was making him do. First I made him fill out the checklist with wedding dates, he thinks we should just play it by ear. Yeah, no, I am very superstitous and can't get married any day. I made him put down December 20th. I have a good feeling about that day. Then I made him send it registered, which delayed it a day because he had to get to the post office.

I really hope ours is received and reaches the embassy in time to be part of the mass December scheduling I imagine some employee will be doing at the end of the week. I have been making spreadsheets to try to figure out what the P3-Interview time is and the average for people that have had interviews in the past couple of months is just over 40 days. On the other hand, I see people that sent back Oct 12 that don't have interview dates yet, and I dont think it is because they forgot to fill it out either!

  5. We got packet 3 sent off!!! Yay!!! When should our interview be??

Congrats you too! I know this process has been incredibly hard on you both. Ours will be sent off tomorrow and I have a feeling our interview will be mid-December.

It seems like noone has been getting P4 back lately, does anyone else suspect the London embassy is trying to gather them up so they can arrange a neat schedule?

  6. now im confused..

it says to return this notice (I-797E NOA) on top of the requested information listed on the attached sheet..

on the back side, it says, "when you reply, please include a COPY of the other side of this notice and also include any papers attaced to this notice."

on the second page, it says, "each petition'ss response to a service request must be accompanied by its blue I-797."

do i keep the ORIGINAL BLUE form (I-797E) and send a COPY of (I-797E) with the requested evidence???? or the other way around? :help:

    My interpretation:

Assemble the reply to the RFE, put the original blue form in front. THEN make 2 copies of everything to keep on hand in case you need them later.

  7. The wait is over. My husband had his interview at 10am today. He called me at work and told me he was approved!!! There was more people denied then approved and I thank God for his grace! The interview was no more than 7 minutes long. The interviewer was really impressed with our evidence and how many years we have been holding on in this distance relationship! Thanks to everyone that has helped me in this journey. If I can help in any way just send me message! Good luck to all of you!!!

Congrats!! You went up against one of the toughest embassies and you got what you needed!!!!!! I hope you two are together VERY soon!

  8. STILL WAITING!!! 1404420hsc4u0qwkn.gif

YAY!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS ON GETTING OUT OF AP MARM!!!!!!!!! I hope you give him the BIGGEST hug when you land in the US and it is ALL over!!!

  9. I have a question for people who have received their NOA2 .... How long from the time you received the email/text until you received the actual paper NOA2 in the mail?

It's been 5 days and nothing yet.

Another thing to worry about I guess.....

    Thanks!

    Malarie

I stopped caring about WHEN the paper NOA2 arrived. When it did I quickly filed it away for the AOS process.

The part that I started obsessing over was the NVC portion. :D I called every day to see if it was there and if it had been sent to embassy yet. Do you think we have our own brand of crazy?

  10. I'm feeling pretty frustrated with the London part of the process right now. They have now started the policy of needing you to get the medical done a week before the interview. Since my fiance lives in Edinburgh, this is NOT an easy thing to do. It means TWO trips to London...

    *grumble grumble grumble*

I don't see why they only allow ONE company to do the medical, nor do I understand why only the London embassy can process these visas when there is an embassy located in Edinburgh. It's not as though the London embassy does things quickly either.

Sorry for the rant, it's just seeming like such a pain in the ####.

On another note, anyone that had their P3 sent out on Modnay receive it yet?

  11. I'm looking for the next step -- exactly what I need to do and what I should have my fiance start preparing.

Can anyone shoot a quick next step list??

    Thank you so much!!!

    Malarie

You start on the I-134 and all of the support documentation for that such as tax returns and paycheck stubs , he gathers his identification items and police cert. You both start organizing proof of relationship.

I haven't heard anything about Algeria, but I am assuming they will want him to prove the relationship is legit.

Also, read all reviews for your consulate here http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/

Read about the consulate here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/

  12. Justa Shooter - while I admit that HIV is in sub- saharan africa , I do disagree with your statement that mosquitoes spread the virus. When mosquitoes feed on blood from a person they only inject their saliva, which serves as a lubricant and allows the insect to draw blood more easily. In addition, HIV does not reproduce or survive inside mosquitoes, unlike organisms that are transmitted via insect bites.

I still believe partners should go for testing together before any commitment, it doesnt matter where you are geographically located or born.

I've read articles that site research about certain types of malaria reducing the bodies defense against the HIV virus. Right now there is an interesting correlation between the two infections.

  13. he shold have listened to me when I said to use Canada from start.

    Hello ! :)

Breath! I'm sure everything will be fine at the end.

I must confess that I've been thinking the same thing when you mentionned he was coming back.

I guess Montreal interview delays scared you...

Woman, you always should listen to your intuition!!! ;)

I come to check like 3 or 4 times per day to see if Musho or Rachel got their NOA2... :(

I shouldn't get my packet 3 before mid november, and I doubt my interview will be before 2009 ends.

I almost miss checking on USCIS site!

Victoria, we didn't pick a wedding yet, we won't do any real wedding but I'm thinking really hard about stealing your 1st of May.

It is Labor Day in France, it's a good day, it's always sunny on a first of May. :)

I can't wait for this winter to be over and this unique and magic Spring to come!

Aww, you wouldn't be stealing it. It would be nice to know that another VJ friend is getting married as well. :luv:

I'm thinking that would be a great day for our reception as well. :D

I'm still checking VSC and CSC in hope that Musho, Marie and Rachel get their NOA2s. Good luck everyone!

  14. Good news- LONDON EMBASSY HAS FINALLY OPENED THEIR MAIL!!

NVC shipped our paperwork there on Oct 19th, and they received it on 10/22, according to DHL. Called the embassy today, and they confirmed reciept of the hard copy of our paperwork, and said P3 was sent yesterday!!! WOOOHOOOO~!!!!

Our package was received at the London embassy on the 19th and I just called and they confirmed P3 was sent yesterday also! Hopefully this means they will be processing and getting the OTHER mail out and we will have some of the people further along in the process being given their interview dates. YAY!!!!!!!!!!

  15. probably off thread here, but how do i find out this stuff.

    7-29-2009: NVC in

    9-01-2009: NVC out

    9-03-2009: London In

    9-14-2009: P3 issued (per DOS)

9-23-2009: P3 sent to London (no letter received)

9-24-2009: P3 arrived at the embassy (Royal Mail receipt)

10-1-2009: London has logged in our P3 documents

I have signed up on the uscis site for case updates, will it tell me in there, or is it just a case of calling them constantly?

Congrats on the NOA2 you got Wednesday! I suggest not finding out all of those dates if you can avoid it. It will just drive you crazy. Of course I'll just assume you are like me and can't help but know the EXACT status of your case. So I will explain how I found out all of my dates below.

You can call NVC and find out if they have forwarded your case to the London embassy. That number is (603) 334-0700. You can also ask them for the case number London Embassy will be using. That is the number the non-US Citizen will need to fill out the DS forms and to schedule the medical.

If they tell you that the case has been forwarded to London, they will usually tell you the date it was sent. I tracked mine on DHLs website by typing in 'EXP 14 OCT 2009A' and finding the package that was sent to the UK. If they have not send it yet and tell you that you are in processing, just call back a couple of days later.

Some people will try to call London to find out the status of their case. Many of us believe that is a waste of money. Calling the Department of State (DOS) is cheaper and easier. That number is 202 663 1225. Press 1, then 0. This agency will be able to tell you if London has acknowledged receipt of your case, if London has sent out the P3, if London has received the P3 papers from you, AND if London has scheduled your interview date.

You can read up on the London Consulate here: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=London

Since you have the NOA2, I suggest the USC get the I134 document from USCIS.gov and all of the supporting evidence ready, and the UKC review the checklist and 4 DS forms here: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html

If anyone sees any errors in this info, PLEASE let me know!!

  16. Might be a silly question but who is the 'principal applicant who needs to complete form DS-156K? Is that me or my fiance Patrick (the petitioner)

    Thank you

The way I think about it is that as the USC, I filed the K1 petition requesting that my fiance be allowed to file as an immigrant. The NOA2 was my approval. Now the file has been sent to London and he will receive a P3 letting him know what forms he needs. He will be filing for the immigrant visa when he fills out and sends in the DS forms. My part of this process, besides the I134, is complete.

  17. I love the status update with the emotes, hilarious! I really hope some more NOA2s are headed our way these last couple days - GO CSC!!!!! :help:

Malerie - Didn't notice before that you're in Chicago too! Chi-Town!!! :dancing: So maybe I should apologize now for the screaming of joy you're going to hear on November 29th. The whole state is going to hear it when those doors open at O'Hare.

I have a guest visiting from Germany for a week starting today so I had to do some house cleaning last night. What a good "training exercise" to prepare for when Katia arrives, I'm actually sore today. I can't wait until she gets here and the battle for closet space begins :) Probably need to have an addition put on the house just for her shoes :jest:

What is it with women and shoes anyway?

LoL my weakness isnt shoes, its purses and coats.......I have a jacket to match whatever outfit im wearing. I have an obsession with Audrey Hepburn, she always has the right coat and bag to match lol.

I have tons of jackets and shoes also! Has Katia been to the U.S. before? How fun would it be to come here and learning for the first time how awesome shopping for shoes in the US can be? I have never been to Chicago, but the things I would want to see are the big buildings. .....and let's not forget Oprah.

I'm wondering what Dave will find interesting about Utah since we only spent a few days here and it was about 95 degrees at the time. I hope he gets here around Christmas so that I can take him to Temple Square. The lights display is amazing. I'm not sure what else I can awe him with since he spent time in the US as a student and visited Chicago and Boston lots already.

I guess when we check back in 3 months we will know A LOT more about what our SOs think is amazing.

  18. Hello

Im wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation. We want our wedding to be the 10th September so need to get our visa anytime after 17th December (due to the timelines) but would prefer an interview date in Jan. Has anyone ever sent in their checklist with a covering letter asking for a certain date (not a specific date) any date in Jan will do before our petition expires?

I am worried about sending in everything too early and then not being able to have an interview after 17th Dec but also worried about holding things back and then the embassy not logging them for a few weeks and then our interview date being a few weeks later and before we know it our petition has expired.

Aaargh! Any advice on if a letter asking for an interview date in Jan would help?

    Thanks

Yes, many have attached letters requesting an interview within a specific timeframe. I know of a JUly VSC filer who is also planning on doing this as well so that she can be with her fiance in London during that time.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

  19. Thanks, gmj, for responding, and understanding. :) I just may talk to my fiance about doing that. Not sure he'll take the risk, but we'll see.

Also, I remember the recording at the DOS saying they close for one hour on Wednesdays. It was either 10-11 or 11-12am EST. Try back in an hour.

Thanks again. What would I do without all of you VJers? :star:

Nancy, my Dave is waiting for P3 because he does not want to risk it getting set aside or lost if the package is not handled yet.

Another random thought for everyone - Besides MARM waiting for her Desi that is a student in the UK, is it mostly USC women waiting for British gents on this thread right now? If so - Our poor guys, missing out on the awesomeness we have going on between us!! I have to remind myself that my SO doesnt have as much support. I am starting to learn I can't get mad at him when he stops wanting to talk about the process. :(

  20. Finally just decided to update my timeline with consulate received at when they got our info electronically. What did you guys decide to do? Sounds like once London opens up the physical boxes that they've already got, they just generate the P3 letter that day or soonish after that.

I've been looking at some of the other forums and cannot believe how much trouble other people have doing stuff for their foreign fiances at the consulates...makes me sad that they have to go through so much #######. I understand the high fraud rates and all that, but I wish it wasn't so tough for them. So glad that my fiance (and yours) are from a lower-fraud country...

I put the DHL date in my timeline. I've been second guessing that, but for now I will leave it alone. My logic is that other people analysizing dates will see it and know that the problem is with London.

I suppose I shouldnt get too worked up. I don't want the wedding to be until after new years anyways. My tax refunds will change drastically when I get married. I get to enjoy one last year with the benefits of being Head of Household. Still, the sooner the visa is in hand the better!!!
