This is just my thought, but you never really said your marriage was over just that your wife left with the kids for a visit, at least that the story she told you. Then she just decides to stay there she thinks that's the easy way out and you are stuck with the bill. You lost your temper and your getting help for that. Now maybe with her back in the US is there any chance you two can patch it up. One thing for sure is if she's bad with money she shouldn't be in charge of it. Your marriage may be worth another try.

You two need to talk. Her running away with your kids is just that running it wont solve anything. It really does not matter why she left but taking the kids permanently is kidnapping and if your marriage is really over you should speak to the right people to get the kids back. You may never see them again for all you know. Figure things out now and fast or get the authorities involved.

I know. We do still talk at least daily but when I ask her whether or not she will come back she just tells me doesnt know.. Ack.. I'll talk to a divorce lawyer to at least see what th proceedings are, its a first step and I dont need to progress it until the time is right and I know I have no chance of getting them back.

Also be careful of immigration lawyers. A lot of them promise the earth but deliver very little.

Just called the NVC automated service and they have found items missing from our DS230 package. Obviously too early to call and the RFE has not yet arrived.

We are absolutely baffled. We purchased authorised copies of everything and also sent in originals. We checked and double checked, made cover sheets and checked every item over and over again.

I just cannot understand what is missing.

Further to my last message. I checked my wife's case number and it show's as still processing. As such I am wondering if the missing or incomplete items from MY case is actually the unprocessed DS230 of my wifes case, as the two are obviously linked.

I received 2 e-mails today about my parents' cases. It's about the supplemental information sheet needs to list all traveling beneficiaries and also need to be signed by the principal applicant. I included the supplemental info sheet with my DS 230 package but it was not signed nor included the travling beneficiary. At least I heard something, so it's a good sign. How about your case, Richard?

Well we have heard nothing further. I check the automated service at least 6 times a day! We move out of our house next week and into temporary accomodation so I hope that our interview is not too far away! This has been such a crazy summer that you just cannot guess or estimate how long it may be. I just hope and pray we all get good news soon.

We got RFE today and we just sent the required documents today. So I guess we will be expecting the case complete in the next couple of weeks, hopefully!

We got the invoice identification numbers on the fee bills in mail (before we gave NVC our email addresses). But I guess maybe you can try to talk to an operator to find out if the numbers can be given over the phone.

Mom's Case reached nvc and case # was assigned! :-)

i gave them our emails, but forgot to ask the invoice id number? Will it IIN be in the bill email or should i call back? Is it created on case acceptance date or on bill issue date?

Are you talking about the invoice identification numbers that are used to pay the fee bills? Our case was entered into NVC system and assigned with a case number on 8/12/2009. The fee bills were generated two days later on 8/14/2009.

Your parents will need separate I-130 petitions. Although, you may send their cases to USCIS in the same envelope, their cases are separate. So, you will need to do everything twice - two Affidavit of Support.

Common costs

I-130 - $355

I-864 - $70

DS-230 - $400

Medical - varies $213.35 each

Supporting documents & translation - varies

My father is petitioning my brother and his family from Vietnam, we expect it to be about $2,000 per person. We've had to pay for birth certificates, a marriage certificate, police certificates, Vietnamese passports and English translations for all the documents. Incidentals quickly adds up.

Great answer from Aaron. It really is the incidentals that add to the costs.

Also Photographs, phone calls (many!), postal charges, travel costs to Embassy and possible hotel accomodation.

It is like running a marathon, you hit many walls but just have to keep your eyes on the finishing line!

Once NVC case number assigned to my parents files, and AVR system say Ds3032 etc raeady... can I send 2 emails as choice of agents DS3032.. without wait for anything from NVC??? 2nd I can send emails from my email account or do need to send from my parents..honestly my parents dont deail with email... Hi IT_1, I will help as Tay is probably away for the day. Yes send 2 emails. We sent from our own accounts but others have had theirs sent by family. Recently there has been a delay in processing emails so you may want to consider sending hard copies by mail. That worked for us.

Have you registered an email address with the NVC for emai notification? If not call them after NOA-2 and register your address. Then WAIT to be told to send the DS-3032. You will be told either by email or by checking the NVC automated service.

I called NVC today and they received my packages on 9/2/09 but with my mother's case automatic system, it stated some document is missing and with my father's just said NVC has received package. I sent my DS230 in today by express mail. That is all they are waiting on. They told me that my AOS was approved (it took about 4 business days after they received it). Given how quickly they processed the AOS, I am hoping that I may be finished at the NVC by the end of next week.

happy to let you know my mom's case has been approved and a notice of approval has been sent. I sent the RFE 8/31 and was received 9/03 and finally tonight got the email! 5 days of waiting and prayers answered! now i can process my parent's case together

Tayrivers will probably give you a more complete answer after the weekend but I will try to help.

I believe the RFE is for missing information from your application at various stages. Such as missing birth certificates, police checks and so on.

Some people who have petitioned for step parents have omitted to included certificates of divorce and also original marrage certificates.

Just to let you know that Tayrivers is away for a few days.

But I might be able to help. We called the NVC yesterday and the automated system told us that we had documents missing.

I spoke to Tayrivers and she said that it could be a false RFE that has been generated. This happened in her case.

My daughter called the NVC and this was exactly the situation. The NVC computer had generated a letter even though all the correct information had been inputted.

My daughter was told to ignore the letter when it arrives as it was simply to ask for an agent to be nominated, even though we has just printed off the cover sheets for the DS-230!

I do not know if this is what has happened in your particular situation but be aware that it can happen.

My emailed DS3032 was finally accepted yesterday and the IV bill was payable this morning. This means that it took 15 days for them to process my email versus the 4-5 days they are taking with snail mail.

Finally we are moving again!!

Nice one PTROBER. Funnily enough we had the confirmation emails yesterday evening that our DS-3032 emails had been read.

That was a few hours after the despatch of our DS-230..!

So your estimations are correct, currently the snail mail is much faster than email by about 10 days.

Let's hope we see some of the others progressing in the next few days. It has been a long summer.

I found out from the NVC it was the DS-3032 hardcopies we mailed that were processed rather than the emails sent a week earlier.

We actually completed the DS-3032's, scanned the documents and emailed to my daughter in Florida. She sent them USPS overnight to the NVC and they were processed a couple of days later.

We were concerned about sending in what was effectively a photocopy but it was accepted.

We also sent in the actual hardcopies by airmail from the UK but these would not yet have made the trip.

By all means send the DS-3032 by email but send a hardcopy as well. It worked for me and may take some time off your visa journey.

Many thanks though to PTROBER who brought the delay in reading emails at the NVC to all our attention.

Hello All,

I checked my bank account today(09/03/09) and saw both the checks got cleared yesterday(09/02/09). Also i checked the image of the check and on the back of the check i can see the WAC#(10 digit # starting with 093xxxxxxx) and date of 09/01/09. Does this mean they assigned the receipt number for both my parents (both the numbers are in order).

Please let me know if anyone has seen this information on the checks and if that was the receipt number.

Oh congrats to all.... good to see things moving at NVC again.

Richard check the payment site tomorrow it may show as paid.. When I did it for my parents it was showing as paid the next day and I was able to print off the Barcode Coversheets.

The AVR is always a little behind, so it is always a good idea to speak to the operator if you need to check on things. I always found the Phone Staff at NVC to be very helpful and always pleasent.
