Trust me we do I am from here, have you read our news recently and all the problems we are having with border control.. Getting out is harder then getting in. We need to adopt Americas approach.
But my suggestion was meant as they could meet here, we are multicultural and they might both find it easier.. But again they do need to know each others culture.

i agree with you too... if it was against islam to meet before marriage then nobody would be traveling to pakistan to meet their fiance ... and i certainly wouldnt have seen my husband at the airport gates along with his family he would have been in another place until after our nikah... that wasn't the case he was right there at the airport he stayed in the same house as me before we married altho we werent left alone which was fine.. but after marriage everything was as it should be for married couples.
The OP is going to have a difficult time at best presenting a convincing case... without meeting in person and fulfulling the requirements for k1

I don't get where people get such strange ideas. Lots of couples in Pakistan are marrying their first cousins. Did they REALLY never meet their bride or groom in person before marriage? Do these people think USCIS adjudicators know NOTHING about Pakistan or Islam?
They tried. Their excuses were lame. Now, it's time to do it right or not do it at all.

I'm cheerleading for you Barron! Everything will be fine, and soon! It's a pain the butt, and not your fault.

This is incorrect, on multiple points. Not all cards are 10 year cards. LPRs can be out of the country for up to a year without needing special permission. The OP had her GC with her. USCIS messed up, but it'll be all sorted tomorrow.

They could withdraw the petition go to visit tomorrow and refile when she gets back.
They can meet anywhere. England does not "let anyone in". Try getting a tourist visa if you are from the FSU
Why would you think it was directed to you?

You have not mentioned the most important thing reguardless of how often you both communicate. You still need to meet each other in person at least 1 time in a 2 year period.

    Thank you Puskbrk
People who try to create some sort of hope for a person attempting to avoid the requirements are NOT doing them a service and I wish they would cease and desist such nonsense. It is virtually impossible to get the waiver on religious requirements for one simple reason. You are saying you cannot meet in person before marriage, yet you are applying for a visa to DO JUST THAT!
Any person forbidden from seeing the other in person would best be served religiously by getting married in their home country and filing a CR-1
These are silly excuses. Spring break is coming, get a babysitter and go to Pakistan. Sheeesh.
The only such waivers I have ever seen are for medical harship and only after the foreign beneficiary was denied for tourist visas to the US.
I suggest people stop giving false hopes to others because of some obscure boiler plate language in the law which exists mainly to respect some obscure religion that may exist.

Condolences for your loved one. These types of issues (mistakes, errors, washing machine destroys papers, etc) are not uncommon. Most US embassies and Consulates do have emergency personnel to handle such issues.
The trick is to find a phone number. Many times your own elected person representing your location has back channel access and would be prudent to contact that person.
I feel for you but try harder and do not give up.
    Good Luck and Many Blessings.

All good advice. As you will likely not be able to do anything about it until Tuesday, just sit back, relax, and enjoy some time in your birth country. Have faith that it will all get worked out on Tuesday.

Ditto to Harpa. You should be fine. They might be able to give you a GC stamp but at the very least they'll give you something that says you're allowed to fly. You'll be okay

Barron: You got your GC around the turn of the year in 2011. Many people, including USCIS workers, write the old year in January because it takes some time to get used to writing the new year. It's just human error.
Go to the embassy ASAP and they will sort you out. You're only losing a couple of days. My friend (the only other person I know who is an immigrant lol) left his GC in the US and he was not allowed to board a plane back. They don't check your documents to return on leaving. He had to go to the embassy and get some travel documents. You need to do the same. Then, in the US, file for I-90 with no fee based on USCIS error. It really sucks, but you're not stuck there forever. Get in touch with the embassy. Maybe they some workers there tomorrow, who knows. Good luck.

No, Laure, this person is a Permanent Resident. She CANNOT use on the VWP anymore. That would be a disaster... She would be giving up her GC rights, etc. She must travel as a Permanent Resident.
OP - That is very sad indeed. You'll need to contact the embassy, and hopefully they can sort you out in a day. Might have to wait until Tuesday though, but after that it shouldn't be long. Best of luck.
