  1. As previously mentioned, the terminal fee is 750 that everyone pays, but check your receipt because Philippine Travel Tax is sometimes already included like it was on my fiancee's when flying continental and purchasing the ticket online.

  2. NVC sent the package to Manila two weeks ago and my fiance still has not received her packet. When will it be sent?

There is no packet sent anymore. She may get a letter that tells her where to go to download the forms she needs. No need to wait on that letter.

You can already get everything together and schedule the interview.

  3. Hope she gets the document needed real soon. So, they returned her passport till then?

Yes so do i soon she gets it sooner she is in my arms again :-)

Yes she has her passport and currently at cafe getting it photo coppied to send to sister

Hope it's quicker than ours. It took us the full 6 weeks after submission, but we finally got the visa today. They did misplace our file for a few weeks though. Only took about 3 weeks after they found it.

  4. Update:

Yang (My Fiance) passed her interview yesterday.

    Side Note:

She was telling me how all the Americans at the embassy were so pleasant. Some of the filipino workers on the other hand were just plain nasty. Some of them were on a power trip. I wish I was there at the interview with her. Oh well, I just want to wish everyone who is still waiting good luck. I also would like to thank everyone for their support.

    Happy Monday everyone!

    Congratulations!!

Mari told me the exact same thing. The Americans were nice but the filipino ladies were mean and on a power trip. She was so glad to get an American CO. But she felt sorry for thost who didnt. AS well I wish those waiting good luck

Cool.....after 6 long weeks of waiting, we just got the text from air21. :dancing:

  5. Our case has been in the USEM for almost 3 months now, but we still haven't scheduled my interview because I still don't have my police clearance. We were planning to just go on with the interview even without my clearance but then, we ran out of time because our case will expire on the 22nd of this month. We'll just send an e-mail to the embassy to extend the validity of our case for another four months, because I've learned that embassies do that.

It depends upon you though, if you want to go on with the interview even without her clearance, but then, she will get a white slip. But the good thing about that is, she will be done with almost everything. You should talk to your girl about that. Good luck :)

i think that is what she is going to do. She is going to just go and hopefully they can give her back her visa or atleast make a copy of it so she can send a copy to her sister. I think the white slip is going to be quicker then waiting for a nother interview date. That could take a while to get as it looks like they are mid dec and she hopes to get here for xmas. Taht is our goal.

It's frustrating to get the white slip and wait days, weeks, or even months with no way to track what is going on. Our interview was Sept. 25, submitted the document on the 30th.......still no visa. Personally, I would go with all the documents.

  6. So I tried to call the Embassy last night to get my Fiancee's K-1 Visa appointment. I called the 1-888 number and the automated call menu came up. The options were to press one for Filipino, two for ACS, and 3 to continue in English. I pressed 3 and received a message in filipino. I think it was asking me to the pin number you are suppose to get, but I don't know how you get the pin number.

I know from the USEM website to get a pin for $18 and to have my fiancee's case number.

So, my question is. How do you get the pin and reach sombody to set the appointment date?

Try again. I had the same experience my first few times, then around 8:30 it went through fine. In fact, last night I could not get through the direct line either.

  7. does air 21 deliver visa on saturdays too has anyone received there visa on saturday or know of thanx

When was your approval? At this point I doubt they deliver at all anymore. Our's has been sitting on a desk for over a week now. I have heard of weekend deliveries.

  8. I suggest calling the Dept. of State after you have the MNL # to find out when the papers are sent out. You could be one of the not so lucky ones chosen for "addition processing" at which case you could be held up a month or more. In our case, not only did we get AP but our file also disappeared for a month during the transfer so we could not get approval at the interview. It's important that they have both the electronic and hard copies, or you are just wasting your time.

  9. Well our interview is officially tomorrow 7 am there @ USEM, Manila time. I hope and pray as always God will see us through, as He will, and as He wills, Mark 11:24. Wow, what a journey, huh? So much love and strife, stress and resilience. Our pain of waiting, my worry is gone and we now leave it all in the hands of Jesus. Yeah, she is a lil bit nervous but she is confident with the truth and Gods' love on our side. Thursday November 5, 2009 will be our best day so far in this long journey with the shortest part of the rest of our life, Amen and Amen.

Goodluck! While you are there, how about ask them why our visa has been sitting on someone's desk for over a week now not being delivered! :bonk:

  10. My fiancee had her gown custom made in Cebu. She had no problems trying it on as long as I'm not seeing her in it. I bought the rings here. Mine was cheap because I prefer durable metals to precious metals. Her's is platinum, and I don't recall seeing platinum in the Philippines in the malls. It's even rare in my hometown because of the cost.

  11. Hello marchers, whats up been long time i havent posted here. Almost everyday i read this forum but when im not in mood with all visa things i dont even read at all. I just miss u guys, i hope by the end u are all will live together with the ones u love. No more long distance love. Including me, of course

@ indopie - Welcome back! Is you timeline updated? Surely NVC has recieved your case by now.

    @ victim - Congratulations.

@ missy - sorry about your dog, I had to do the same thing earlier this year, very sad - i still miss him.

@ March family - How many people have their SO back here in the states? Is Stephen the only one?

Mine was supposed to be here 3 weeks ago, but thanks to USEM loosing our paperwork :crying: . Well....they finally say they found it and approved the visa Tuesday (over a month after the interview), so hopefully she will be here in 2 more weeks.

  12. All "original" court documents are photocopies. What makes them originals is that they have the court clerk's seal affixed. While this is usually an embossed seal it can also be a rubber stamp.

As long as her original has the seal you're good.

    Questions:

But during the interview.??is that OKEy to show the SCAN divorce decree? My hubby submit the original when he sent the I-130 package.. a;l he gonna do now. SCAN me his divorce decree SOON.. is this acceptable during the interview?

    shiela

I just scanned a copy and sent to my fiancee and also to USEM directly via email, and they accepted that.

  13. just called the embassy in warsaw, they do not have our packet 3 that we faxed back on the 19th of october... grrrrrrrrr

I understand your frustration. The embassy in Manila is now claiming they have our file from the NVC 5 weeks after being sent, and we should expect the visa to be issued soon. She did her cfo today with no problems. I find that amazing at this point with all that has happened getting this far.

  14. Good morning everyone!

I have a question - I think I have misunderstood something. Does the embassy need the original copy of MY divorce decree or just Lars'? I have plenty of time to send it to him but I didn't, yet. Also, do they need MY birth certificate? I have reached saturation on all of these forms and packets and immigration issues....nothing else can sink in!

In my experience, the embassy is only concerned with the beneficiary's documents. So they'll want to see HIS birth certificate and divorce decree, but couldn't care less about yours. The petitioner's eligibility has already been determined by USCIS; the consulate's responsibility is to ensure the beneficiary is eligible for the visa.

That said, the VJ guides suggest that you send him originals of everything submitted for the I-129F (which would presumably include your birth certificate and divorce decree) just in case the embassy asks to see them. But most likely they never will.

My fiancee was given a white slip because she did not have 2 pages of my divorce decree (which was sent through USCIS originally). It can really depend on the embassy and even the person asking that day. Better to be safe than sorry.

  15. For what it's worth, I made a personal trip to the Embassy with my then fiancee. I went there primarily to have them notarize the I-134, but I also took the opportunity to inquire about my wife's case since the Embassy had gotten the file over a month and a half prior and had not sent her anything about an interview. The information officer behind the glass told me her interview might not be scheduled for another two to three months. Two weeks later, the embassy rushed an interview letter out to my fiancee so fast that she actually missed the interview because it didn't arrive in time. She had to reschedule the interview for the following week.

I don't know for sure if my visit to the embassy made a difference in her case, but there is a saying about squeaky wheels...

My thoughts exactly........something about a much bigger (and gwapo) kano that seems to help get things done. ;) Thanks for posting your experience.

  16. I apologize I misread the the post..I thought you guys failed to submit the 2 pages. Sorry to hear they screwed the paperwork up.

No problem.....thought you may have misread. Hopefully I'm not in AP hell yet again. I'm giving it another week before looking at flights there again.

Thanks tngirl21809.......I was told I could inquire at Window X when I am there, but that response did not give me much confidence.

  17. After 29 days in AP, our petition was finally sent to USEM on September 8th. She got a letter dated on the 17th that she was eligible to schedule her interview. In the meantime, I had already scheduled it for the 22nd. When she arrived on the 22nd, she was told to come back on the 25th because she was not in the system. On the 25th, she was interviewed but still no paperwork according to them. I had given her copies of everything submitted to the USCIS, so she submitted them to the CO but 2 pages of my divorce decree were missing. She was given the white slip requesting her to submit those 2 pages which both of us did and I have verified that that they were received.

I can get no clear answer to if they have our file from the NVC although it is my understanding that they only send out the letter when they receive the file. DHL tracking also implies that they did receive it. I can get no further information than to wait 6 weeks and highly suspect that they have lost the file but will not directly admit it. Our wedding date has already had to move twice, and this has literlally cost me thousands of dollars. My demands for expedite do to their incompetence have fallen and deaf ears, and I refuse to wait 6 weeks just to be told to wait 6 more weeks at that point.

Typically they don't let you set an appointment without being in the system. They wouldnt let me schedule my fiancee for an interview until they had the package from NVC. I called several times and they said "your file is here electronically but we have not received your actual package from NVC, on my last call the files arrived the day before and I was able to schedule.

Missing paperwork in my opinion the white slip delay was not the USEM's fault. My fiancee spoke to 2 ladies that just finished their interviews yesterday and got the pink with no run arounds whatsoever. So they seem to be organized.

Good luck I hope things work out and they correct whatever it is that's causing the delays.

I went through the same process of not being able to schedule at first but then being able to schedule the appointment. Missing paperwork not their fault? The whole file went missing after arriving there. Who's fault is that? My fiancee provided duplicates of everything but 2 pages of a divorce decree she didn't have so that they could proceed with the interview anyway. This was all paperwork that they already had..........somewhere. I just want something to happen as it seems nothing is being done and there is no transparency. If flying there will make a difference, then I'll make that sacrafice. Just wanting to find out if someone has been there, done that, and had any success.

  18. There is most definitely an "expedite" if they screw up although it is not the same kind of expedite you are referring to here. I know this from first hand experience. As far as the not scheduling anything comment and causing my own financial losses, you are assuming way too much, and I do not care to reveal all the facets of my life in a public forum.

I've already called the DOS with little affect other than being treated very rudely and getting no further information. I have a feeling my congressman will not do anything in any reasonable timeframe.

The original question is has anyone been to the embassy in person and did it help move things along. That's why I did not give any other information originally, because I am not looking for advice on that. I've already read those threads and posted my own experiences in them as well.

You are assuming too much to jump to the conclusion that the USEM screwed-up. Are you aware of the recent flooding and such? It's quite possible that they simply have to work through a backlog.

You didn't mention that you've already called the DOS thus my suggestion. I wouldn't knock the congressman route until you've explored it as many have reported a lot of success getting something knocked loose through them, YMMV though.

Now regarding the "scheduling/financial losses" statement, I made no assumptions. I simply stated that they wouldn't accept being blamed for those extra expenses because the State Department, USEM etc have stated in many places that you shouldn't arrange travel etc until you actually have the Visa in hand so from their point of view you caused the loss not them.

FWIW, when asking how you should proceed next (which is what you are doing) it makes a lot of sense to list the steps you've already taken (such as called DOS) so that others won't suggest things you've already done.

I'm well aware of the floods and sympathetic. I've spent a lot of time in the Philippines and follow the news daily. I was very relieved that my fiancee was able to leave Manila the day before the flooding began or would have been really upset if she had to stay even longer due to this and have gotten caught up in that mess.

I have not assumed that the USEM screwed up. NVC says that USEM has the file. DHL shows a package delivered. USEM implied that they can't find it. They signed for it, sent out the letter to schedule the interview, then claim they don't have it. How am I jumping to any conclusions?

I don't care whether they accept blame or not, the fact remains that they are to blame for "losing" the file. You assumed that I was referring to travel plans costing me thousands, therefore you did make assumptions. I only lost 2 cheap tickets to and from Manila that hardly count towards any of what I will be losing due to delays, but like I said, I do not care to get into my personal finances on this forum.

I had no need to discuss the specifics of my case because I only was asking if anyone has appeared in person and if it made a difference. I've already had the discussion about steps in the process in other posts. I don't want to sound like a don't appreciate advise, but this post was not meant to get any information other than what was specifically asked. My fiancee had copies of all the paperwork that also came to them via USCIS/NVC accept for 2 pages of a divorce decree (that was in the USCIS package). My K-1 would have never even made it to USEM without the divorce decree, especially after 29 days of AP at the NVC, so there really was no need for them not to interview and approve my fiancee on the 22nd other than not being able to locate our file. Normally in a situation like this, the case would be shuffled to the top of the pile.

  19. This is exactly why they tell you specifically NO NOT SCHEDULE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE VISA IN HAND.

Call the State Department and/or your congressman.

BTW, request to expedite can only be approved for extreme hardship on the USC part and they won't consider "their incompetence" as such because you didn't follow the recommendation and scheduled things prior to having the Visa so from their point of view you have caused your own financial losses.

Did she take her Medical at St. Luke ?? That is where she gives them her passport and documents and they send them over to the Embasy.

    Just curious

    Rosie and David

I am referring to the packet sent from the NVC. The medical exam was completed and passed on Sept 7-8th.
