I was wondering, after we receive the NOA 2, is there a certain amount of time they give you from the NOA 2 to the scheduling of the interview? I mean does the NOA 2 expire if you wait too long to schedule the medical and other interview?

The reason i ask is that my finacee wants to get a job soon in Cebu while she waits for the NOA 2. She says that at the call centers where she applied they make the employees sign a 5 month contract. She says that if she breeches the employment contract that they will charge her 45,000P.

So we are trying to figure out if there would be enough time to fulfill her employment contract AFTER we receive the NOA 2.

I am also curious as to how serious these employment contracts actually are. Would a call center really try and sue a poor filipina for 45,000P? And could a breech of such a contract hinder the whole K1 visa process in some way?

Any info is appreciated......thanks.

call centers in ph nowadays do that, its common. but dont worry too much about it. Im about to start mine tomorrow (we have the same contract) and my visa interview is in 16 days. If she's leaving the country anyway why worry? all they can do is not give her a clearance from work which she will need if she applies for another job in the philippines and not release her backpay. that's all. the company wont really spend time and money to sue every single employee who resigns. I know some friends from call centers who had resigned as they have better job offers in other companies, they just cant include their previous employer in their resume bec. they know that they wont be able to get a clearance or cert. of employment anyway. that's all. so, go do what you have to do and even if she have the visa, she still have six months in her hands

So the long wait is over. We thought VSC passed us by for our 129f. They seemed to have passed us by while processing people even into February. But finally in to days mail, dated 5-18-2009 approval. YAY....

We are on Igor's list, but how do I update timeline? I tried to figure it out but couldn't, so its says we are still waiting and I want others to know that even if they have been waiting, don't give up, eventually they will remember your file.... Took 5 and a half months.....

yaaay! congrats! im from the philippines too, maybe your SO can now call the call center for interview appointment. that's what my friend did when they got the NOA2 even without the letter from Manila US Embassy yet. If only I have known that I can do that even without the letter (I waited for another month for the letter), im probably done this month. anyway, Good luck and God bless!

hi, i just had my medical yesterday and the shots today. they gave mne three shots. MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and varicella.

They said that I need to get a 2nd shot of varicella and Td within 2months whether here in the Phil's or in the US.

I did not present a vaccination record either. They know whats safe to give you even without the record.

i agree to have your fiance scan and email or fax a copy of the noa2 to you that should get you past the guards at the door also i dont think it is a simple checkup. it probibly will require two days there

thas strange. i was there May 18 for my medical too. I just showed the email of appointment for interview that i printed (it wasnt even scanned, just copied and pasted) and the letter that i received fom Manila US embassy (eligibility for appointment letter).. no NOA2 copy was asked.

They should be needing just those two forms and the passport. that's it.

I am december 2008 filers too, got notice of action 2 last april 17, now waiting if when i will received a packet from US embassy.

I have questions.

What documents that NVC sent to US Embassy Manila? Is it include there our emails, photos, divorce paper, birth certificate, I-129F, G-325A that we sent to Vermont? anything else?

Does NVC check petitioner's background? Does NVC check petitioner's background if he is really single or divorced if how many times divorced or what? anything else?

And who check for beneficiary background?

hi kilipit! welcome to the group! you may call US embassy manila call center (1-909-101-7878) even if you dont have the letter, they will give you your case number and you can even set your interview appointment. you were actually just waiting for a letter of eligibility for interview from USEM (US embassy Manila) that's just what i had received and nothing else. You have the same case as my friend, shes a january filler, she got the NOA2 around March but until now she doesnt have the letter. she called the call center and USEM (US embassy MAnila) they did confirm that the letter is already being sent, they asked her if she wants to set up the appointment anyway, she said OK. I think you can also have the medical as well if you want to, just print the NOA2 email to show it to the guard at ST Lukes Medical.

First id like to say thanks for the comments and replies.... let me see if I can answer everyones questions :

First about the american guys and the whole friendster myspace #######.

She still adds guys on her friendster, she says there just friends and everyone on there is her friend from either highschool or college or where ever. That is just fishy because she has almost 600 of them. One American guy that she talked to a while ago and i told her she needed to get rid of him, well she deleted him but didnt delete him from facebook ?!. What ever ... all that social networking sites are all drama anyway. I deleted every social networking account I had. Friendster Myspace facebook, ect... It caused too many arguments so i got rid of it, she cant and wont. She also recieves Mail from one or two of the american guys... not sure what its about. Ok enough about that subject .. what else....

if you can do it (deleting your social networking accounts) why cant she? i cant believe it. you already told her but she still wont do it. WHY? i guess you know the answer, just in denial?

Her family, she has told me several times that she want to go alone to the US and live with just me, not even have kids anytime soon since i have a couple from my previous marrage. She also doesnt want me to help them, but i see her giving her mom money all the time. So that raises a red flag with me too.

helping out once in awhile is ok. besides, shes giving them money out of her own pocket coz she works right? shes still here in the Phil's so you cant stop her from doing that. if you are marrried, the you can discuss that issue. take one problems at a time. sort out your feelings first.

When we are together we are 90% of the time fine and having fun were ever we go. I just dislike the looks i get when im with her ( I feel like people think she is just another club girl with an american ). Not directed toward me but toward her. I have several times said stuff to people, like when im with her I get addressed .. good morning sir... she gets nothing and I just simply say so you can say good morning to me but not her because she isnt american or something. The whole perception thing is killing me here. She gets harrassed when she leaves the hotel to go to work, and I had to yell at the management.

i had experienced the same thing. Its a filipino thing ; if a fiilipina is with a foreigner, they automatically think that she's a Prostitute or someone who works in a nightclub and just happened to be taken seriusly by an american. pathetic right? they let me sign, ask for my I.D. before letting me in. I gave them my ID from work, i work in a 5 star hotel(their direct competitior) in manila (executive position). then they look at me differently fom then on. some guards who doesnt know, still the ssame with me. It all gradually changed when they realized that we are really in a relationship coz im his only guest in his room (some americans have diff girls, so they tend to generalize) and I talk to them in english all the time. i know someone who goes out with foreigners (more than 2x), and stayed at the same hotel everytime. so, even if she stays with her BF now at the hotel for a long time, the guards and staffs look down on her. she's not a pro, but she just dates foreigners when theyre here.

Im in Manila and I am honestly BORED, everything is the same day in and day out.

I dont know what to expect from this marrage, simply because my last two fell apart. 1st one we couldnt live together and fought all the time so we just seperated to get some space and she found someone else so we divorced... even though we are great friends now... 2nd marrage ended because my first ex wanted me to take my kids and have them live with me for a while, so I told my wife and she sent me seperation papers.. So that was a good signe i needed out of that relationship.

so this marrage... i dont know what to expect... Maybe I shouldnt expect anything.

what i want..... Honest, faithful, support (with work even if I stay in the military as well as all types of support), has to love kids because they will come first and it would be fine if she wanted kids, I cook so she doesnt really need to, i guess it would boil down to I want a best friend to say by my side through thick and thin...

Do we love each other.... I have told her several times I love her or I love you... but when she asks me why i love her I dont have an answer. on the same note she doesnt have an answer for me either.

Differences in fighting/arguing when we are apart or together is simple... I just wouldnt talk to her for days when we are apart. Then call her up and explain things to her. together she would take off and calm down then we would sit down and explain things.

Actually, according to my endo @ St.Luke's ,if it's not really necessary to have an operation,they wont operate on you,as for my case,i was working in pldt then and i was already planning on availing the early retirement plan that's why i chose to have an operation while it was still free.and having it operated will not guarantee that it wont come back,mine came back and on medications again You might not need an operation and might just take pills for hyperthyroidism.

Anyways,whatever decision u'll make,i wish u good luck

oh im sorry to hear that, and I thought that when its taken out it wont come back unfair actually, my endoc told me that i should have the opeartion coz its getting noticeable (maybe coz shes a doctor thats why for her, with just one look, she knows i have a goiter?) but, its up to me when and where. I have 8 nodules in my neck by the way i had the biopsy last 2005 it was all benign. I think its because i sing a lot? and I really "belt" when i sing.i dont know. oh well, ill have the medical on monday. 3 days from now pray for me. I will update you guys. thanks!

You will be fine as long as you are fit to travel. I have a friend who came here on a k3 visa with a heart problem and she decided also to have the surgery here. She also submitted all her medical results during the medical exam.

I would suggest to have your operation done here in the philippines becoz its only cheaper here compare to USA.Aside from that, there is a laser surgery like radioactive. I have a hyperthyrodism too and had my radioactive last june 2008 and believe me the lump in my neck has totally gone after 2 months.Try to ask to your endocrinologist if you are advise to undergo radioactive. It's a bit expensive compare to the operation.

For me i had 3 days quarantined in the hospital then after that u can go home.You didnt feel anything in neck at first, after a week u will noticed the lump got swollen a bit.Actually the cost radioactive depends upon the size of your goiter.if your goiter is small then u will get small dose only..for me i got 2 dosage and each dose cost more or less 15,000 plus the Isolated room in the hospital (the room is expensive than the other normal room), doctor's fee and etc.But before you undergo the radioactive you have to undergo thyroid scan and TSH first then 15 days iodine diet (walang salt sa pagkain, no eggs, bread, no dairy products.) The total cost more or less 60T..surgery is lesser but my gasgas kana sa neck mo tsaka parang 4 doctors yung mag assist sayo kase merong doc sa heart mo, the dugo mo, of course yung endoc mo nakalimutan ung isa.Actually my sis in law is now in manila para paopera sa goiter nya. Wla kase xang option for radioactive talagang surgery lang ang option nya.

So i would suggest sayo ask ka nlang sa endoc mo if ok ka maradioactive..if ok ka then go for it..dont worry about radioactive painomin kalang ng doctor mo ng gamot parang malaking capsule then after mo matake yun wala ng pwding lumapit sayo.hehehehehe..

I had a thyroidectomy in 2001,during my medical,it asked on the form if i have medical problems and one of them was thyroid,so i checked it and was also asked by the doctor at slec,she just wrote it on my papers and didnt encounter problems out of it.no need to bring all your papers from your endocrinologist,you'll be ok.

You probably won't be covered on his Health insurance until you becomes his wife. Your husband needs to check to see if his HI has a pre-existing clause. If so, then your condition will fall into the pre-existing clause. this is just a FYI,

Definitely check into that. You don't want to start your marriage out with 10,000's$ worth of medical bills if you aren't covered on his insurance. Make sure he checks into when you would be covered and what their policy on pre-existing conditions like yours is. I'd want to get it in writing if possible.

Everyone says that maybe its the stress of being apart, and maybe it is, but thats not going to help my situation at all because im Military and I will be away more often than not. I also have talked to her family and it was kinda weird first had to get use to the whole Po thing added to everything I said, but when talking to her mom it was a different conversation than im use to. IN a sense i felt like her mom was probing me to see if I was going to take her family wiht me when she left for the states.

If i remember correctly she kept saying the same story about a "friend" (you know those mysterious ones that everything good happens too) who took his fiance and entire family (brother sister mother father ect...) back to the states with them. It seemed to be all she was focused on.

she should be focused in starting your OWN family, not bringing her entire family in the US.

Her.... well she is a great woman, and we do talk ALOT, she cheated on me once while i was in the states and I respect the fact that she told me.

hello everyone, im a newbie as you can see in my status. I dont know if im just a worry wart. Im so afraid that i could fail my med exam coz of my pre existing medical condition.

I have a thyroid problem and have it since birth. I have regular check up with my endocrinologist. Last May 2008, my condition has escalated to hyperthyroidism, so i started taking antithyroid until it comes back to normal level. Yes its normal now but, my goiter had enlarged compared to last year..My endocrinologist said that it needs to be operated. Me and my fiancee decided to have the operation performed in the US, since I have a multinodular goiter, quite complex.

I plan to get a certificate from my endocrinologist stating my condition,prognosis and meds taken and she will also state that we opt to have the operation in the US, after marriage. My doctor said that we have every right to chose, when and where we want to have the operation.

I will present it to the it to the physician on the day of my medical exam. Of course they will know my condition during the exam, I just figured that its better to have a certificate from the doctor.

what if they ask me to have the operation here in the philippines instead? that means it's gonna take longer for us to be together. or worse ; i'll fail the exam. does anyone have the same conditon as mine here? please. i cant sleep anymore thinking about this.

i dont know about anyone else on this forum but distance and the lengthy process that perviz and i are forced to deal with has lead to some pretty good fights, and its always about nothing

even though we keep in touch thru email and yahoo messenger, it still seem not enough and we both sometimes get frustrated with the situation.

You or she could get irritable over petty things because of not being able to do anything about ur present situation.you were so used to see each other almost EVERYDAY for six months then all of a sudden you cant even hold her hand.

you thought that the problem was your indifferences, but its actually the pressure of the moment.

Maybe both of you has to comprehend on your true emotions ; that its just that you badly miss each other and fell helpless right now and cannot do anything about the situation. Believe that it's gonna be alright, and that in Gods perfect timing, you will be together. It could be just the stress of the process. shes stressed and worried and so are you.
