  1. Hi Simbafuzz,

FYI, my wife just returned from overseas (with her expired GC and extension letter, no I-551 stamp). Upon returning at LAX, she gave the immigration officer her passport and GC. He scanned the GC, took her fingerprints, ask her how long she was gone and welcomed her home. Didn't ask to see the extension letter. I'm assuming that when they scan the GC, it must show on their system that it is under a one year extension. Still good to have the extension letter as backup, but she didn't need it this time.

Enjoy your travels and see you back here when you return!

    Hi Greg,

This is good to know. I feel better now. I'm also worried because I am to go back and visit my country in two weeks. Pheew. Thanks for posting this!

  2. Does form I-693 have to be filed with the initial I-485 petition or can it wait until the interview is scheduled?

AOS is happening within one year of the K-1 medical exam. Will we get an RFE if I-693 is not filed at the same time?

    Thanks!

some get RFE for not having I-693 (vaccination part), some didnt. I chose to file one (I-693 vaccination part) because RFE could mean delay. Up to you. Good luck!

  3. Ok, here's an interesting one -

We are getting the initial application together. So far for Evidence of Relationship we have:

passport of foreign fiance showing stamp at San Fran airport where US fiance was living at the time.

passport of both of us showing exact same stamps for trip to Mexico.

flight itinaries for trip to Mexico.

we have photos from when we met with both of us in them and family etc and easily recognisable places and so on but they have no date stamp actually in the picture or anything else clearly indicating the time and date. However those things are definitly in the meta-info of each file.

Question is - will the meta-data of the photofiles count and will they be willing to look at that kind of thing? If we send the photos in on a CD will we have to indicate where the time and date is etc?

I don't know of any other way of doing it.

our pics doesnt have dates too, but we sent it anyway. We were approved  gather all requirements together with pics and youre good to go

  4. my filipina wife is not happy here in the usa she is critical of everything around her my friends my family dont get me wrong we do love each other and she is a good wife in the sense of her duties at home of cooking cleaning etc. but nothing seems to make her happy more than a week at a time we live in a small town no other filipinas close to us for her to have as a friend but so many woman here have tryed to makes friends with her she is not interested at all makes no attempt to be social at all an is jealouse of everyone that is close to me including my mom and my daughter so i decided to send my wife back to philippines for a visit for us to take a break from this marriage we have been married 5 months i miss her very very much but last nite even tho we are still so far away from each other when we are chatting she gets the bad attitude with me again i cant take it anymore its not worth it im done i guess my question is now that she is in philippines how do we o about getting a divorce .

i guess 5 months of being married is not that long...you are still in adjustment period of your marriage...i bet there is a way you can both figure out to make your marriage work...divorce shouldnt be the immediate solution for it.

  5. hi, im a novermber filer.. i was just wondering if anyone of you here had an RFE for the full medical exam? I had mine last september of this year and had submitted my medical result during my POE.. so I don't know what to do about it right now.. i dont know how to trace it, i called customs and border patrol of my POE but they said it's impossible to trace it and they send everything to the USCIS everyday..

im so sorry to hear this, the officers at POE might have not forwarded it or they lost it. heres a link of a post thats same case as yours http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1582399

hope this helps. see whats more convenient for you ; request or take another medical. good luck!

  6. Ok guys i have a question and i know that i'm getting paranoid. Few weeks ago i received this notice:

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

The question that i have is does it meant that it's transfer to California or to my homestate office. Thanks for any replys.

Anisa, your timeline says that you were transferred on 11/19. Did you receive a hardcopy notice saying that it was transferred to CSC. I recieved one, but I also received an update like the one you posted saying that it ARRIVED @ CSC and is now being processed there. The 2nd message I got, also exactly like yours did not specify CSC like yours.

45 days later....... Still no EAD approval! :crying:

What's going on? I see other ppl who filed before and after me getting approved right on the oct avg!?!

    So frustrated.........

I'm sorry if anybody got confused. Here is what i received in the first email

On November 19, 2009, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.

Here what i got in the second email:

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

I didn't have time to call them today but hopefully tomorrow and to see what's going on. Thank you everyone for all your help.

anisa, i got the same e mails ( the second email twice!) i think the USCIS it is pertaining to is the CSC, meaning, it is now at the USCIS in california which is the CSC and is just letting you know that this USCIS is now processing your I-485. congrats!

  7. Oh I hope it's your IL!!! Good luck!!!! :star:

Thanks a lot dear... whew! hope the letter will arrive soon.. be having sleepless nights again.. thinking about this!

KM 24, we didnt get any email update... maybe its your IL... thats goood...

OMG.... we are so upset right now... my husband just got this e-mail stating that:

  8. got two emails today!! a welcome notice for being a permanent residence and an approval for my EAD!!:dance:

and now its time for job hunting  I'll start sending resume tomorrow

You got your welcome notice and your EAD approval emails on the same day?

Welcome notice usually only precedes GC by a few days. You may very well get your GC before your EAD!

I've read of that happening to a few other people on here. Sure makes the EAD feel pretty useless.

I only had my EAD about 2 weeks before my GC showed up. That's barely enough time to really start job hunting, let alone get hired and use it. So I've now got a totally useless USCIS card here.

Sure is pretty and shiny though. Looks cool when you hold the two cards together B)

    I totally agree heatdeath :yes::lol:

and i also find it weird to get texts and email at 8pm and 10pm from USCIS too  heres what i got
