I have applied for I-130 Application for Alien relative. Im a US citizen trying to bring my son here in the US. The processing timeline on my account says "2 Months". Last checked today.

Happened to check my case online and said on November 2nd I was scheduled for interview. Waiting to get the letter in the mail. Fingers crossed that the interview is for December and not while I am abroad.

2015 US Passport Application Tracker List

Thank you! It felt so surreal after leaving the immigration field office. Can't believe that we are done with all the applications and fees. Now its time to apply for my U.S. Passport! I guess this is another application and fee, lol.

Just got back from the interview. It was very quick and I thought it went well as my case officer was friendly and professional. I did not receive immediately approval and was told that my decision would come in the mail. We did talk about the oath ceremony taking place in court across the street since I've requested a name change, so hopefully that's a good sign. I've included details for other NYCers that may find it helpful.

I got to the building at 1:30pm for a 1:50pm appointment (must enter on Broadway with appointment letter in hand) and spent about 5 minutes going through security. Checked in on two different floors and was given a number by 1:40pm. Waited in a room of about 75 people for 10 minutes until my number was called by my interview officer (only 2 minutes after my appointment time). Most of the people in the room were there before me so the order is dependent on your specific case officer. Cell phone usage is allowed in the waiting room. Overall the process is a lot less organized than the biometrics appointment.

I was sworn in and then sat down. I was asked for my passport, green card, social security card, and state issued ID. We started first with the language and civics test. I read out loud the sentence "There are 100 senators" and wrote out "Alaska is the largest state." My six civics questions were:

- Name one war fought by the United States in the 1900s.

- Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now?

- The House of Representatives has how many voting members?

- We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years?

- Who is the "Father of Our Country"?

- In what month do we vote for President?

The officer reviewed my application page by page asking me questions on each section. I highly recommend reading over the application before your interview. Once I had recited my application verbally she asked me the yes/no questions. I was asked for my tax forms so I handed over the last 4 years of federal tax transcripts. I was then asked to review some forms and sign them along with the two passport photos I sent in with the application. I received a receipt stating that I had passed the tests and that USCIS will be sending me a written decision about my application.

The one thing that makes me nervous is that at the very end my officer asked why I waited so long to file for citizenship. I had already relaxed by this point thinking the interview was over and said that I liked being a Japanese citizen (so stupid). I then continued to say that before I didn't know whether I would move back to Japan but now that I've decided I would be living in the United States for the rest of my life it made sense to apply. I'm really hoping that this brain fart does not cost me my citizenship.

The interview took 20 minutes and I was out of the building by 2:15pm. ​Now the waiting game begins again...... hoping for some good news in the near future.

Thank you Eaton Inside! I just received my letter for oath taking today. It is scheduled next week, November 6. I was jumping for joy when I opened my mail today

Congratulations cutiepie28! I also passed my interview. The IO asked the same exact questions including the sentence about Columbus day. I noticed that the applicants were told to wait for the Oath taking letter schedule. I guess it is printed on the same day here in Durham NC. Since I am changing my name, the IO informed me that my oath taking schedule will be a month later.

Interview done and passed.

Got there an hour early, but security let us in. Checked-in my interview letter and been told to wait for my name to be called. I thought it was a good idea to be in early, thinking I can get done early as well, but it was not. My appointment is at 12pm, my name was called 45 minutes later. There were at least a dozen people ahead of me and there were people walked in later but been interviewed first because they have earlier appointments. They did go by appointment time not first come, first serve basis. A middle-aged man called my name and asked "How are you doing today?" , I said "Good, but nervous." He asked me to follow him and remain standing after we get into his office "to take an oath". Then he motioned me to take a seat while asking for my GC, passport and driver's license (if I have any). Handed them to him and he said "Well, we'll do the civics test first, have been studying?" I said "Yeah, I want to passed." He then took a piece of paper in front of a stack of paper works, ( which I guess all my documents from K1, AOS, ROC and N-400 app. on the very top) which approximately 2 inches thick. He said, " There are 10 questions, but I'm going to ask you 6 if you get all right." I answered all the 6 questions : 1. What did the Declaration of Independence do? I gave all 3 answers , He said " Good answer."

2. Name one branch/part of the government.

3. We elect US senator for how many years?

4. What does the President's Cabinet do?

5. If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

6. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?

He wrote down all the answers on the paper while asking questions, and in between question and answer he is checking my application. He then gave me a another piece of paper with sentences/questions and told me to read - When is Columbus Day? then he handed me another piece of paper to write down, Columbus Day is in October. I'm still nervous can't even write legibly, he said it's alright as long as he can read it. He then told me "Congratulations, you passed."

He went over my whole application, asked about where I live, my home/daytime phone ( which I messed up, forgot what's our home phone #, LOL) , my cellphone #, my workplace/job, about my husband, and my kids. He then go over the YES/NO portion and told me to signed and dated the last part of the application and I also signed the 2 passport pictures sent with the application.

After he went over the whole application he said "CONGRATULATIONS, you will be a citizen after your oath ceremony. You will receive a notice 30 days from now." He then printed something from his computer and showed it to me to see if all the informations are correct for the naturalization certificate. He handed me a piece of paper showing that I passed and been approved for citizenship. He asked me if I have any questions I said none, he just then shook my hand.

The whole interview took at least 20 minutes, it's the wait to be interviewed that took forever. Received my NOA letter today

Hello everyone,

I had my N400 interview today morning.

It was eventful before I got to the interview. On the way to the USCIS office we got a flat tire. Talk about timing. My wife who had accompanied me stayed with the car calling roadside assistance. I got taxi to pick me up and take me to the USCIS office.

I barely made it on time. Handed over the letter and the green card. They noted in their system and asked me to wait for the officer to call me.

Before I took a seat I was called in. The officer introduced himself. Very professional and nice guy. He took me inside to the interviewing area where they had all the office rooms.He told me he would be doing the interview and made me take the oath.

He first asked for my Green card, Drivers license and Passport. On his table there was a big bundle of all the documents that I have sent to USCIS.

Once we were seated, he gave me a preview of what steps he was going to do. As the first step he asked me the 6 civic questions which i answered correctly.

After that he asked me to read a sentence. Then write another sentence.

Then he said we will review the N400 application. He went through the application step by step asking me every question ensuring that all the information in the application was right. He didnt ask me any other documents.

After that he made me sign a couple of documents and the front of the photographs I had sent with the application

Once that was done, he said congratulations and that he was recommending me for approval. He said I will have to take the oath ceremony and the next available time slot of oath ceremony I could attend was on Thursday 08/20. I decided to take that day. He said I will have wait outside until my name is called to get the Oath ceremony letter. He then walked me out to the waiting area.

The whole thing lasted about 15 mins.

It took about 45 mins to get the letter. Its scheduled for 08/20/2015 AM.

Hello my fellow October 2011 filers! I've been Missing in action here but I got good news! I got the Congratulatory letter today! Woot woot! :dance: This means, we should be hearing a lot more good news, especially from those who filed at Vermont I can feel the positive vibes for everyone ,lol. by the way, the letter is dated July 9,2012, for the record.

VSC sure is taking its time -____- It turns out I can't get a new drivers license without my new green card.... #######.. (or so they say.. even though I showed them the extension letter and everything)

Wish they'd hurry up.

They are wrong! I just renewed my driver's license with an expired GC but showed them my NOA letter stating "extended for 1 year" and they accepted it. The expiration date of my DL is the same as the expiry of extension date. I think you should try again.

Hello everyone! Congratulations to all who got their GC : )Thanks RebbecaAndPhil for adding me on the timeline : ) Man, What is going on with VSC? Unbelievable.

Anyway, I just got back from the Philippines, stayed there for 3 weeks. I just want to let some who have worries in travelling outside the country with their expired GC to NOT worry at all. The officer just asked me "did you know that your GC is expired?" I told him "yes" and told him about my one year extension and showed my scanned papers (I left my papers, so I have it scanned by my sis in law and email it to me), he looked at it then that's it : )

I hope that at least one from the VSC filers will get their GC by April. It is taking them too long. smh

Hi RebeccaandPhil, can you add me to the list please? I sent the Application on October 17 at Vermont Center, Receipt date was Oct.21, Bio Appt was Dec.19.

They actually misspelled my first name on my receipt letter, so I called the customer service to correct my name. Then I got a letter stating that they have corrected the errors, the following week, I got another NOA1 letter and my last name was misspelled! I couldn't believe it! So, I called the customer service again and when they checked to see, my full name in the system was actually correct, they said it was just probably a typographical error, pheew. Cmon now, out of all the words in the letter, why must the typo error be my name? lol. Anyway, my name finally doesn't have any errors on my Bio-appt. letter. Oh well.
