There is no such thing as an International Driver's Licence. There is an Int'l Driver's Permit, which is just a translation of her Russian License. Alla did do that when she was in Russia, and in Illinois (it's all state-specific) could have used that until her I-94 expired (90 days after POE) but......
I couldn't get any auto insurance for her unless I paid like $400 a month.......so it was useless. We did get her state ID card and then she studied and took the written exam and got her State Driver's Permit (had to drive only with another licensed driver) and then a few months later, took the driver's road test and got her DL.
I'd say it's not worth it unless she has a real need to drive immediately and your state will recognize it.....AND...you can obtain insurance for her. All companies would only insure her once she obtained her DL.

You can get your I-94 info from this site > https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html
And yes, you can file for your SSN > http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn
Check with your state about what is needed to drive there. Most states will want you to have at least the EAD before getting a US license.
There is no shortcut for working. You need to marry, get your certified marriage certificate from the court and then file for AOS. You will file for the EAD and AP at the same time. It takes 2-3 months to receive the EAD/AP. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
If your medical was done within a year of filing for AOS, then you are not required to get a new one. However, you need to have all the required vaccinations and if you went through Juarez, you most likely did not get them at the time of your medical and have them marked off on a properly filled out DS-3025. You will need to see a civil surgeon for that. You will have to call around to find one that will not insist on a new medical or charging for one anyway. Try this thread to see if any of these are near you. It is long but worth going through if you can find one there > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/
