  1. Morning every1,

Morning all and happy Belated Mothers' day to the mommies!

I did not touch a computer all weekend - I was partying, lol - Went to see my friends play Friday, then Sat night we went to see Phantom of the Opera and then to see another friends' band play - Sunday I cooked lobsters for Mothers Day - the whole family came over, including Teagan, the new addition - she's so cute, and really smart - took her out the porch door to the back yard once, when she had to go again she ran right to the sliding door.

Sus, I love going to plays and the Phantom of the Opera is my favorite, although I only have it on DVD and the soundtrack CD. I can’t wait to go see the actual play in person one day. Did they do the chandelier drop? I heard they do that where they have a pretend chandelier drop for the audience, so the audience becomes part of the play, same as in the movie.

I have been really hush about Anthony coming to my kids and family until I was sure. I told my kids on Saturday and my daughter has asked me at least a dozen times "is he really coming?? I'm so excited - I can't wait." As if the wait isn't hard enough - lol. We went grocery shopping on Saturday and she had to pick up lots of extras "cuz she knows he would like those".

    Island- that is so cute.

  2. I do not believe in soul mates. I believe in mutual respect, committment and compromise alone.

You must have been very bored between the hours of 3 and 6am...you responded to the last 27 polls!!:rofl::wow:

Ok so I'm bored too, responding to a post started almost 2 years ago. :bonk::rofl: But since it got bumped...

I think there are many people who I could have met who woudl feel like a soulmate.

There is an old saying. You have three loves in your life- first love, the love you marry and true love. some people find one person is all three.

    that saying i like

I answered No. However, I do believe in soul mates but this person does not have to be your ultimate love. I believe a soul mate can be anyone with whom you have that deeply soul felt connection (and you probably wouldn’t have many, you would just have one). I also don’t believe in that one perfect mate. Otherwise, how are you to explain people who have lost loved ones, never thought in a million years they could love again but then they do. Was the first one wrong, or is the second. They both could be and probably are very true, just in different ways at different times. It takes a lot to maintain a healthy relationship and I just don’t think being soulmates is one that ever guarantees it will last. Plus just one perfect person in this whole world, EVER, well what if that person is already :dead:...too depressing.

  3. I have to go with Target. I used to do Walmart when my kids were young but as they got older it seems the ones in my travel areas have become filled with too much of nothingness and they are always too crowded. I would rather Walmart for the prices but Target stores are popping up all over in more convenient locations so I’m also driven by convenience. When I add in gas for the travel, Target is just a better choice.

  4. the ads seem to be are connected with what is posted... and there has been a lot of talk lately about dating sites

 that's the whole point behind Google ads, they provide context-relevant links that increase the likelihood the reader of the web page will want to click through.

I don't get these ads but at least this explains why I have seen mention of the DNA testing ad on one of the fiancé(e)/spouse visa threads (no kids involved).:lol:

  5. "Never"

My Road Map to Retirement ("Financial Freedom"):

At present: Trading stocks in my fathers account since January 2009. His entire account value is up 30% from yesterday's close but it fluctuates day to day. See chart below....

At present 2: Trading stocks in my own account...a little over 40% gain last year.....This year I am down a little due to sucking but my dad's account is rocking, unfortunately he doesn't tip me a dime.

2009: Find a job making over 35K (I just graduated, I am unemployed, I will be going for a master's degree in economics if I don't find a decent job...no rush yet)

2009-2020: Make a ton of money in the stock market on it's trip back up over the next 10 years

2009-2010: Sometime within next 6-18 months buy my first foreclosed home and rent it out or sell using gains from the stock market

2010:2015: Buy 2 to 10 additional foreclosed homes using money from work/stock market gains/proceeds from first foreclosed home/etc.

2016: Move out of my parent's basement

2030-2049. Both I and my employer contribute to my retirement account but I am not relying it. Who knows where that will end up. So I'm basically planning on savings, high yield market accounts, real estate and the enterprise of some steady income generating business to carry while spending most of my retirement in SO’s country... Think it'll work?

  6. I'm an usc female 5 years older than my SO. At first I thought it would be a problem. In fact, when we first met and he told me how old he was, I told him he was too young. I look 22, though I'm really 32 so I get approached my younger men quite often. I quickly tell them my age to deter them. :o However, since we have been together I haven't even noticed the age difference. We are truly compatible in so many other ways that age really does seem like just a number for us.

  7. I would love it if my SO changed his last name to mine. His first name w/my last name combination is a really strong sounding name. Plus I have mostly females in my family and would love to have a male hold it. The idea of him having a hyphenated name is interesting to consider but ultimately I think it’s a bit too much. Now both having a completely new name from the combination of the two, no hyphens, maybe four letters from his and four letters from yours, that I think I like.

  8. In previous years NO had always been deemed the murder capital. However, for the past couple of years, others had taken the title. I’m surprised to see it back up there again.

I thought Philly over Camden would have made the list this year with all of the cop killings. I guess with Camden being smaller the crime to population ratio puts it higher on the list.
