  1. Good day! I just talked to my sisters in the philippines and my mom pass away this morning( US Time). She didn`t respond anymore in the medicine and she didnt make it.

Please include my mom in your prayers for the Eternal Repose of her soul.

What is my option now? Do I have options. I am so depressed because of this. Can I go home even I don`t have advance parole? I don`t know what to do right now?

Thank u so much and God bless us all!

    Love,

    Netscot

I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Pat and I will have you in our prayers. You have extenuating circumstances. So I am sure the USCIS has a provision for this.

  2. I know President Obama is working to reform our immigration system.

Have anyone experience any different so far? Or heard of anything in regard to speeding up the immigration visa process?

A little over a year a go a meat packing house here in Iowa was raided. There were a lot of illegal workers there. Some were deported others were taken to the Federal courthouse for a trial because of using someone elses identity. That is what I heard will be on the Obama agenda. Those the willingly knew they were given stolen identity, stole identity, verses those that did not realize it. The Obama administration wants to be able to make those that were taken advantage of a chance to become US citizens or work permits granted and those that knowingly used someone elses ID are then to be prosecuted. How illegals will be made into US citizens or goven work permits I am not sure. Treating the illegals special just takes away from the people that are submitting visa and so forth the legal way. I have not heard of anything for K1s that the new reform will touch. I guess we will see what happens. It seems like there are millions in the US illegally from Mexico and Central America. I am not sure the Obama administration will really cure the problem or will the situation be worse?

  3. I find it quite unusual that nothing has happened there regarding K-1's for about a week now. I know we only have a small portion of the applications that come in but my fiancee is actually having a nervous breakdown about the uncertainty about it all. We submitted our's on the 13th and haven't heard yet and its becoming increasingly frustrating that couples (I Know its not there fault and I'm happy they've heard something) almost a month after ours have heard. Has anyone any information and idea on why it has suddenly seemed to of stopped after a lot being done at the end of last and start of this month?

Good luck to anyone facing the same problems as ours....

In addition to the H-B1 visas I noticed there was a new office opended to for processing foreign immigration from I believe Mexico. Maybe that will help take the load so the K1s will start flowing again. My K1 petition was was received by the CSC on May 1st and updated on May 4th, but no more action yet. I wonder how far after 90 days it will be before we start seeing the NOA2s. Good luck.

  4. I came to the US through a Fiance Visa. My fiance is a doctor. When I got here, we decided to wait at least before 90 days to get married so we would know each other more because though we've been talking with each other for almost 4 years, we've only spent time in person for a week.

To cut this story short, my fiance had been seeing this girl whom he dating or have been dating for 10 years. Because of my work background, I am able to access information from him including emails, pics, call logs, sms's and other information which he is unaware that I have access to. So basically, this is not accusations, I have profs and picture with dates on it. The worse part is when they both flew to vegas 2 months before I came here. This is evidenced by dated pics and credit card bill statement and confrontation with him which he admitted.

I am decided to go back home to my country because I can't marry him because of what he did and his incapabilities to recogniize his mistake and make amends to them. I have given him lots of chances, tried to work things out with him and compromised for him. I have dealt with his repeated infedility to me until my few days before my visa expires. He is unwilling to correct things and that is why I am going home.

Is there anyway for me to stay in the states "Legally" without having to marry him? What processes would there be? If none, I am more than happy to go home and restart a life and hopefully get my job back.

Pat and I are sad to hear of your unfaithful fiance. There are other men somewhere that would want to meet you and make a good faithful spouse. As far as I know you will have to return to your country.

Meeting the right person makes all the difference. Pat an I just developed and interest in each other and there was a chemistry like I have never experienced with anyone. It built over time, then we met in person, and the chemistry seems the same and I felt very much at ease with Pat and I can just be myself with her. She has expressed the same with me. The best to you on your search, your prince awaits.

  5. First I would like to say this site is Awesome there is a tremendous wealth of information here. I was planning on using a lawyer but I am glad I found you guys. I guess the whole process seemed a little intimidating, but you guys help ease these fear.

I am currently in Mexico with my SO and I don't want to send the petition through regular mail. We all know that it could take weeks for the petition to reach USCIS through "snail mail" and this process is long enough no need to add extra time. Do you think I should use FEDX or DHL? Also would I have to use a different address?

    Thanks for the help!

    Andrea

One things to consider when sending the petition is the service whether it be UPS, DHL, or FedEx is the address to the USCIS is a PO Box number. Make sure they can deliver to a PO Box number. I sent mine by regular mail, but I did do it from inside the US borders. I know UPS does not deliver to a PO Box number. That may be a good question to ask DHL or FedEx in deciding which one. It maybe you will have to use regular mail if none of the carriers sends to PO Box numbers.

  6. with no more jobs to offer, professionel with degrees who had their jobs shipped to india now working McDonald's jobs, no health care for their citizens, the country going down with trillion$$$ in national debt. Unhapiness among the US population is skyrocketing compares to other nations. Over spending on luxuries we can't afford and greedy corporations who back us up with sub-prime loans, growing gap between the struggling middle class and the riches, the exhausting rat race for having more stuff than the Joneses now become a race just to stay above the water, broken families and children idolazing studid rock stars and models over their prozac filled parents who are drowned in credit card debt and over valued estates, China loaning us money so we can buy their own produced ####### at Walmart who hires illegal workers at discounted salaries.

Is it the end for our beautiful USA?

The USA is still the land of milk and honey. Some of the problems are from people getting a bad loan or a where the house is so expensive. People themselves as well as the Government are not putting priorities in the proper places. There are those in congress and in the current administration that are trying to turn the USA into a socialist state. This is a great country, but I want to make it an even better country.

  7. do americans specially non-asian.non south asians more precisely i would say show bias towards muslims?

    especially after 9/11.

is it hard to live in america and listen to irritating remarks against muslims??

or one has to get used to it?

    i am from pakistan

and these days it seems america and western and american media is busy spoiling the image of pakistan and presenting situation in a way it looks more grim and uncertain.although its not true.

media is not presenting the true pictture

i can say with confidence because i belong to pakistan.

its just a propoganda against paksitan

I am a non-Asian. I was born in the USA of German decent. Whether it is a Pakistani Muslim or a Muslim from another country, what I see is Muslims that claim the USA is against them. The reason they see that I believe is for some reason the Muslim belief sees the religion as the state or as their government. In the USA we have differentiated between the state and religion. There is also a problem with a religion where it is ok to kill a non-Muslim. Then Muslims claim the USA is at war with the Muslim religion. No, this is not true. The USA is at war with terrorists without a differentiation of whether they are Muslim of non-Muslim. Yes, there is a hesitation toward Muslims, because the religion wants to kill non-Muslims. I am sure the attitude against this hesitation toward Muslims would change if the non-militant Muslims would disavow the actions of the militant Muslims and make a differentiation between the two. Of course Americans would have irritating remarks against a group of people that want to kill them. If you are a Muslim and wish to live and work in the USA in a peaceful manor, I welcome you.

This forum is not for bashing Muslims or complaining about the mistrust of Muslims in America, This forum is for those seeking a visa to bring a loved one to the USA. If you live in the USA and are an American citizen and have questions about bringing a love one here through a vias and have questions please ask the questions. If you are in Pakistan and someone is seeking a visa for you and you have questions, please post your questions.

  8. I am getting ready to submit the application for the K-1 to bring my fiancee here. I have held off because I have not worked for over a year. Last year I went to the Philippines twice and once this year. I understand adequate income is mandatory so I'm waiting till I have secured a job before I submit application. I will begin receiving social security benefits for me and my son beginning in July. I am hoping between that and a Job will be enough to qualify. My question is, does the USCIS look at social security as being better because its more of a guaranteed income? Also, does your year to date income have to equal the 125% of poverty level (there are me,my son,my fiancee and her son = $27,563 minimum)or just how do they figure it? I'm trying to determine how much I need to make between now and 6-7 months from now.

    MikeA,

Good luke to you on job hunting. This is just a thought, but the USCIS may see getting a job recently as a bit of a wisk and if you were drawing on Social Security recently as another red flag. The reason I say this is the USICS wants to make sure your fiancee will not also have to draw on social security or any form of money from the Government to live. It is sure worth a try. If the request is rejected submit a request again after you have had a job awhile.

  9. I am from Ukraine. I got denial of the visa of K-1 the day before yesterday at interview.
Explanations: my fiance petitioned on the former wife 7 years back, they officially divorced in January, 2009. And our relations began in February the last year. His former wife lives to one address with him, it did not please a consul and he drew conclusion, that they live together. Yes, one address, but there are a few apartments in this house, and they live in different apartments. This house is my fiance ownness. They did not divorce because they do not need it it was, but every lived by own life a long ago, and she has already other man which going to get married her. I was not able it to explain it. A consul said that his wife is not American, began to ask me as they met, I did not have been able to answer, I did not know, and  I said that he met her with his friend, but he said that they met also as I with him in Internet. Probably, he thinks that I want to leave to America and paid the fiance of money. It is not truth.

What can we do - to try it to explain and how? Or to conclude marriage in Ukraine and do the visa of K-3?

    LuckyHelen,

You might want to give this a little time. I see here that you started a relationship before your fiance was divorced. Now he is living with his ex. In the eyes of the consul that waves red flags, because how are you going to fit in with this. If this goes not work well are you going to become ejected from the situation upon which you may become a subject of the USA welfare system. Another consideration is your finace's sincerity.

  10. Im confused with the employment letter. my fiancee was activated this may (because he was a reserve)... so the only letter he have.. is THE EMPLOYMENT LETTER (for his other 3 civilian jobs) from the military that states that he will be activated and will be deployed to afghanistan this august...

is this enough??? or should we still get the employment letter from his civilian jobs?

    thank you

Some companies will not issue a letter on letterhead or otherwise, but will furnish a toll free phone number, or in the case of my company; they go through an outfit called The Work Number. They furnish employment verification and employee pay. What makes it difficult is when he was put on active duty. If it were me I would go back to the employer for the information and verification. The more the better.

  11. Hey... I need something to do :)

    75 pages

I know I don't have the most. Do you?

I have right at about 100 pages. I could have almost come up with a whole ream of paper with the e-mails for over 3 years and IMs since archiving them in November. Instead of using the phone we use Yahoo IM. What I ended up doing was to print off a copy of the list of e-mails and IMs then print off a few samples. That totalled to be just a few pages over 100.

  12. im confused with this....

my fiancee have 1 full time and 1 part time job.. and his monthly military drills (because he is a reserve).. BUT comes MAY 2009 he was activated and now a full time military personnel ...

    so my question is...

will he get a letter from employer from his 2 jobs?

    or

will he just get the letter from the military??

    THANK YOU

That letter you are talking about is for the affidavit. Yes I gess to prove employment and how much money someone makes a letter is needed. I think it will bepend if the full time position is still retained. As long as he in on active duty he is only making money from the military service. The only thing he can do is try to get the letter and maybe get one fro the military service.

  13. I'm in the middle of applying for a K-1. I've read the FAQs on this site and everywher else, but I had a quick concern.

For Documented Evidence of meeting within the last 2 years, I have my receipts for my airline tickets and confirmed booked flights, but I do not have all my boarding passes. I have the one for the last time. Will those count as evidence, or do they only look at boarding passes? I may have them laying around (which I will begin looking for) but the only one I know for sure I have (unless it got left at my fiance's lol), is the one for my most current visit.

I would try to find the boarding passes all that you can find. If you have any of the online e-mails from the airline as an itinerary and receipt I would submt those with any boarding pass. Of course it does not prove you are there, but the more evidence you can send it does add up. All you have to prove is you met within two years. The worst the USCIS would do is sent an RFE, which I guess would mean you need to take a visit. With your pictures you are proving you are together. Even if you have one boarding pass at or close to your destination the date on the boarding pass will say you were there within two years.

Good luck and please post how it all turns out.

  14. My friend entered the US on a K-1 to get married - the relation soured. He saw his old girlfriend who now lives in the states. They used to date back in his country. They are now talking about getting married before his I-94 expires (90 days) and he needs to leave the US. I told him that on the K-1 he needs to marry the person who petioned for him or leave within 90 days. He said that his old girlf friend spoke to a lawyer and that it could be done if they can prove it is a bonafied relationship. I told him I don't think it is possible. Any help would be appreciated. Also I was looking for other treads on this topic but didn't locate any.

That scoundrel, you are supposed to be the love of his life. Maybe he was using you to get to the USA. It is was or was not, he needs to be reported to the USCIS. Tell me his name and I will report him. He made a commitment to you and he needs to make good on the commitment. I do not want bums like that coming here. If your relationship went sour he needs to do the honorable thing and that is to go back.

  15. For K1 Visa, the petitioner is not required but they are encouraged. But still it is 100% the consular officer's decision to allow petitioner in the interview room. In all cases petitioner's participation is not required or desired unless the officer asks you something in particular. The purpose of these interviews is to judge the fitness of the foreigner for entry/residence in the US and to satisfy the examining officer that the foreigner is entering into the arrangement with full knowledge and free will.

Thanks. That is why then that in one post where the petitioner appeared with the beneficiary there were odd questions like what each other had to breakfast and what the favorite foods are. I keep telling Pat that it is important to me that she feels fine with the whole process and at any time if she feels uncomfortable things can be put on hold. It is good that the embassies or consulates assure the beneficiary is doing this by free will. I told Pat that if at anytime after she arrives in Iowa that if for any reason she feels it is not for her I will see that she gets passage back home. She is my best friend and I want the best for her. Thanks for the perspective.

    Dale

  16. I have heard that the petitioner has to have an interview also. Maybe someone can shed some light on this. Is there an interview that the petitioner has to have at the local office? If so where on the time line is it done? Thanks

For the visa, NO. Generally, even if the petitioner goes to the beneficiary's interview at the consulate they will rarely, if ever be asked any questions. Some consulates "de facto" require the peittioner to be present, though it is not "official" I have not heard of this for Manilla. The Petitioner will (usually) be involved in the AOS interview, IF there is an AOS interview. My involvement was to be called in and told the green card was approved and what forms to file next (I-751) but many AOS interviews get quite in depth.

Thank you. Maybe it makes a difference with the local office where it is done. I talked to someone that had his in Des Moines, Iowa, which is where mine will be. He talked like it was not much.

    Thanks again,

    Dale

  17. Hello, I am new to the site and trying to gather all the information I need before returning to visit my fiance'. I am not a very wordy person and I wanted to know how detailed I need to be for question 18 about how we met. I was able to provide a general statement in the area provided. Therefore, I was wondering if I need to provide a seperate page and if so should me and my fiance' sign that page.

    Thank you for your assistance

Question 18 really does not provide much room and once printed off even less information can be seen. O would provide a separate sheet like the Guide for doing so at this site. I would be specific, but generalize the details. A little like writing a college term paper. Write it so the reader knows what, where, how, who, and that you met the love of your life. That way it makes it more interesting and the words help draw word pictures in the mind of the reader.

  18. After almost ten months :dance::dance::dance::dance: :dance :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: i have been approved and it seMS I FOUND OUT BY DESPERATION.I called USCIS 1800 number and the lady said MAM you are outside of processing time.I said tell me something i did not know then she transnferred me to a higher level IO,and he told me that i have been approved since the 28th of April and i asked why have i not gotten any email update or approval letter he said.We will send you one, he said i should get my card in 60 days.I AM SO HAPPY OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD.Watch the trini WINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Congrats to you. That is great. Congrats for hanging in there over such a long wait.

  19. CSC Received our I-129F on 21 April and to this date, i still have no hard copy of NOA1 nor Have they cashed the Cashiers check that I have sent to them.

Has anyone else had this recent experience with filing at the California Service Center? I sent our Packet via FedEx over night priority. By the way the address I FedExed it to was:

    USCIS

    California Service Center

    24000 Avila Road

    2nd Floor Room 2312

    Laguna Niguel, CA 92677

I know that they have received it and it was signed for too. Any Ideas as too why this would be occurring? I've read that there is an influx of HB1 Visa's that need to be taken care of, possibility that this could be the hold up? Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am getting a bit worried.

    Dan

Someone might be able to answer this better, but you probably should have sent the petition to the address that was listed on the form. If I remember correctly....it was a PO Box. It may or may not matter...

Yes, I sent mine to a PC Box number. I got the address off of the instructions for the I-129F. I also had my check cashed 15 days after USCIS received the package.

I work with someone with a degree in Russian. he says it is Russian and roughly translated someone is asking for an operation that will cost 300 rubles. He is going to run it through a translater and then convert it to the English grammer.

By time my co-worker translated it and converted it to English grammer the closest he can come to is the operation is an IT project. He seemed to think it was almost nonesense.
