I miss True Blood! I haven't seen the last two episodes! The last one I saw is when Maryann had the party and everyone went wild and her hands warped... I knew she was a maenad, as I read the TV Guide article, or Entertainment or whatever it was that told us that snoop.
I moved and have been without cable.... I finally get it tomorrow... thank the goodness for OnDemand!!!! Yay! I'll get to watch True Blood soon!
You can watch it online on HBO.com, you can also read about the previous episode.
I am tired of those flashbacks! I am confused, who is the guy who saved Sookie? Is that the boy who made Bill?
That was Godric. He is Eric's Maker.
Sorry, I mean to say Eric. I just started watching it this season, so I am confused on a few things, but he is the boy right? Where Eric was in the war?

Yes, Maryann is very evil, not sure exactly how she is gunna play out, but cant wait to see.
I cant believe they showed so much of what is going to happen in upcoming shows, that was kind of a ruin, like the gun being a paintball gun. ugg
And who was that at the end that came and saved Sukie?

The comments on that blog are hilarious!

Has anybody read the series Tafsir ibn Kathir? I was having some issues the other night and my husband went to the mosque and found a few books for me. He brought me volume 3 because 1 and 2 were out. I opened it up and there was exactly what I was looking for. Now you tell me that it wasn't meant for me to see it
Isnt it wonderful!

I am going to change the subject here a bit.
I am hoping some one can explain something to me, please. I have a co-worker who just converted to Islam also. Her husbands family is mostly Muslim and they had a family gathering this past weekend and she was told there are different beliefs in the Islamic faith. She nor I had ever heard this before. Can someone explain this to me?
maybe she was referring to shias, sufis, ismaillies
I am not sure, can you explain those differences to me?

Hi Patricia! Welcome! I totally understand the family thing also. My family is not real thrilled, they think I have lost my mind, could totally not understand how I could love someone I had not actually seen IRL etc etc. Oh well, I went to Egypt last month and came back in one piece. wow! LOL Anyway, welcome and dont be shy.

I am so sorry, I can not even imagine what you are going thru. My heart hurts for you.

I have been so lucky to have so much freedom since my ex and I split.
It has been a roller coaster and I still have to deal with so much BS due the children.
It takes its toll and I just want to be fully cut off from him.
I am just glad that all the resentment and upset over him seeing her and her coming around the kids and that real
hardcore worry and bitterness is gone. He has been with the same girl now for oh probably 6 years. He put me through hell and even though I have had my fun and moved on there are still alot of issues surrounding the other woman and even though I know divorcing him was what we needed to do it is still hard for me to see the other 2 children he made with "her". The man really destroyed our family.
I can relate to this! I feel for you.

Good morning! I am looking forward to the weekend also, I have a class tomorrow night at the local Islam Society.
Nagi, hope your meeting goes well.
have a great Thursday everyone!

Good morning all! Looks like it will be a beautiful day here in NC, actually much cooler then normal, only in the 80's. Wish I was outside working in my yard, or replacing my patio. sounds nice amal!

Well, hijjab is a big discussion in my home right now because my husband works with a muslim lady that introduced herself to me and said you don't cover, why, right away. I felt like she ganged up on me.
Well, those that read Arabic may be able to explain this better and I will get the exact verse for you in what Sura later because I am at work. Well, when I read it in English it is talking about bringing your veil to your bosom and covering your adornment and such but in Arabic it has this specific word and that means to cover all....from top to bottom. He said that he couldn't understand why the translation didn't show that or at least try to explain it more. If I speak to him today I will ask him to try and spell it for me.
He doesn't push the issue because he knows there are more things that I really need to work on in my life to prepare myself for this if I ever do. My hat is off to those that do but right now I suffer with it greatly.
I am sorry this is such a point of suffering for you. I feel for you, really. I dont always cover my hair, for many many reasons, not always because I dont want to. I think everyone moves at their own comfort level and does what they feel they need to do, I just hate you are having problems.
Today however I have my hair covered for the first time all day at work. Hopefully I wont 'rock the boat' too much around here.

Thank you ladies!
ugg, but dates? not sure I can stomach those. I will sure give it a shot.

Any advice on how to prepare myself for Ramadan? Jackie said I need to get my mind and body prepared, like shrinking my stomach. Any other advice please?

I guess I missed all the post where people are getting scammed. But of course it has crossed my mine, but those thoughts have been put to rest.

Maybe you all know this, but I had NO idea! I put skerber0 into google and a few of my post from here came up. I was shocked! I know stuff on the internet is pretty much fair game, but I didnt know it was that easy. Anyone know if there is some kind of privacy button I can do so that wont happen. It is only a few posts, not all.

one more question, there is not really a place for me to pray at work. What do you do when at work?
-
morning all, I went to Starbucks this am and they messed up my coffee, so I lucked up and got two. They gave me the one they did wrong. It is hot hear but rainy and calling for thunderstorms.
Amanda, I am sure it is a tough day, but at least you will see him when you get home and he is not far away anymore.
Jackie, that looks yummy!

I have a question. For the ladies here that work, do you wear makeup? Just curious, since you perform wadu all day, how do you handle the makeup thing?
Salaam sis....lol, this post tickled me. I wear just a little liner and mascara. I only pray the zhuhr and asr (depending on what time it falls in the year) prayer at work.
What helps is I get water proof mascara and I reapply the liner after wudu. Hope that helps.
LOL, I know it is something that is so non significant in the grand scheme, but I was jus curious. I rarely wear makeup anyway.

Alhamdulah! I am very grateful to hear this. Jackie helped me very much to learn Al Fatiha ((hugs)) to Jax! I just want to say welcome and remember it's something very new so take little steps and don't let everything overwhelm you at first. Congratulations and welcome sister!!
Thank you again everyone!
