OMG, I could not beleive the ending. My friend that comes to watch it with me told me who that was. But who knows if that is correct, since the show has not followed the book exactly. I hope they have re-runs. I did not start watching till season 2, so if they did show 1 reruns that would be awesome! But I got the books now. thank you!!

Hello ladies
Hope everyone is enjoying and making the most of this Ramadan.
The subject of food at iftar has come up in at least a couple of threads, and I wanted to make some points about this because there seems to be some misconceptions going on.
Ramadan is NOT about iftar and eating special foods that take a woman all day to cook.
Ramadan is a month that we fast for Allah alone, seeking his pleasure and trying to get closer to him through our acts of worship.
Sure, a woman can earn reward for cooking for her husband, but why does it need to be some huge special affair every day during Ramadan? If anything, it should be less. This month has turned into a month of over indulgence for so many people and personally I think that's sad and I find it goes against what the whole month is about.
A woman deserves just as much time to worship during this blessed month as a man, and anyone who keeps their woman cooking in the kitchen all day should be ashamed of themselves. That woman is missing out on getting closer to Allah and is instead cooking food that will be gone within a day, with nothing left to show of it except a little more padding on the families butts.
Can you imagine the prophet, salallahu alayhi wassalam, demanding his wives to stay in the kitchen cooking for them, or that they better have dinner ready in time?
He broke his fast with dates and maybe milk, not huge meals that left people sleeping the next few hours off.
I know that this post probably won't make any difference but I still felt it should be made.
Wishing you all a Ramadan filled with blessings and may Allah forgive us all our sins, ameen.

He filled out some application about a year ago, and yesterday he got an email saying
Your application is confirmed
You are eligible to participate in the coming Green card lottery.
It is from USAGC, DV Lottery Services
Anyone ever heard of this? Is it some kind of scam?
No ,there is a Diversity lottery every year. Check the USCIS website for details.
But they dont send out eligibilty emails, you just apply. And if you qualify, you may win the DV lottery to come to USA.
thank you
Here is the link to the 2011 diversity lottery > http://www.dvlottery.com/

Last night's ep was great! Finally everyone's back in town and things are starting to move along with the Maryann situation. I have to wonder what the extent of Sookie's power against her is going to be. I wonder too if maybe Jason can do the same thing and combined, they'll be able to get rid of her. That would be pretty damn cool.
Jason and Andy's rescue of Sam was hilarious. I like Andy more and more this season.
I know who is playing the Queen and I'm not too excited to see her in the show but... meh. Maybe it'll be interesting to see how she can help the situation. I thought her house was pretty damn cool though, what little we saw of it.
I grow ever hopeful that Eggs is going to die and Tara and Sam will be able to get back together.
I agree, the rescue was pretty dang funny!
So the queen is alive? I thought the blood dripping off her foot meant maybe maryann had killed her. Is this queen someone brand new to the show? or have we seen her before?

For those that don't have access to fresh dates, Fernandez date farm is where I have ordered my dates for the last 2 years. They are priced right and taste delicious. It took 2 days from order to delivery. I order the large dates.

Salam,
I am a new Muslimah in Houston's Southeast side. Any other Muslimah's in the area??? I need help learning. Thanks!!!!!
April
I am sorry, I am not in the Houston area either, but wanted to say welcome! I am also a new sister. I was at the local Islamic Center here one day for a big event they had with kids water play, hamburgers, etc and a wonderful sister introduced herself to me, (she could tell I was new), and she has helped me sooo much. So with that said, my suggestion is go to your local events and masjids, I am sure you can meet some wonderful people. And I am sure people here can help you also.

I have all the books (8)- I haven't gotten the newest one yet that is still in hardcover.
I am willing to send them off to whoever really wants to read them and then you can pass them along to someone else.
I hate when books pile up around here- I'd like them to go to someone who wants to read them.
I would be happy to take them off your hands. If you have not gotten rid of them yet let me know and I will send you my addy.
