I too pray for a smooth ride through this journey for all of us. As patience has NEVER been my strong point, this process is definitely teaching me about how to be more patient. It is early in the journey for all of us, and I think that by the end of it we will all be bald from pulling our hair out. LOL! At least we have each other....thank goodness! I hope Vermont keeps up the pace and we all get out NOA2's around the 4 month mark instead of the projected 5 months that my timeline says!!! I really want a wedding in March! Hope everyone is doing well! Hang in there....we will all get there eventually!

Sounds sweet!!
So what is everyone doing after their NOA1's has anyone prepared anything for the coming stages?
I have been nonstop preparing... The way I look at it, it is an uphill battle all the way to try to think ahead of whatever they may ask or ask for in the interview. I unfortunatly have to deal with the toughest consulate out there... I have most of packet 3 & 4 addressed already. We also practice a list of 200+ questions that she may be asked at the interview. Also getting notarized letters saying our ex's don't live with us...
Where can I find the packet 3 & 4 stuff so I can get I can get it addressed also. What is contained in packet 3 so my fiance can start getting stuff together for it?
Each consulate is different on that one... Check the local discussion for your consulate for an example that someone has posted... The one I have is specific to HCMC VN. here is a link that will help you ... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=202181
Thanks so much! That gave me exactly what I needed!

Wow! our June number of folks on Igors list jumped up in the past day or so... my guess we will end up with less than 60 for the month at VSC
I looked at the Igors list statistics that breaks it down to avg number processed per day and VSC averaged 3.3 per day over the past year.
http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/stats.aspx
our NOA2's should be less than 4 months out with the drop in filers... that equates to fewer files between ours and the next step.
Amen to a less than 4 month processing time!!!!! Having my sweetie here forever by Christmas would be a dream come true, not to mention the BEST Christmas present in the world! Bought my wedding dress this week and look forward to a late winter or early spring wedding. Let's all keep our fingers crossed!!!

Aww! That must have been sweet an exciting! I probably am going to have mine made. Have been spending big time on wedding stuff websites to pick the design I like.. I picked a few
I hope I find that perfect dress in my head though. We are going to have a beach wedding. I'm so excited!!
How exciting that you are going to have one made. I just popped into David's Bridal and picked a few out and tried them on. I sent pictures to my mother in law to be and she thinks I look great in it and knows Mark will think so too! Can't let him see it until the day though. We are having a poolside wedding...so we will both be near water on our wedding day. LOL! Glad to have such great company here at VJ to keep me sane during the LONG wait!

I am in the same boat with you. We got our NOA1 dated June 9, 2009. Let's pray for fast approval times for VSC. We are planning a spring wedding and it would be great if we could be able to tell everyone an actual wedding date so they can make plans.
-
We are with you guys! I saw that someone at the VSC that filed in May got their NOA2 in 22 days and the case wasn't an expedite. I hope our cases landed on that person's desk too. Wish I knew his/her name I would send them some cookies or something to get ours processed. LOL! It will indeed be a long summer for all of us. I am heading to England to meet my new family-to-be and attend a wedding with my fiance in 43 days! Can't wait! He has only been gone from his second visit to the US for 2 weeks and it feels like months already. He is planning another visit to the US for Christmas but maybe if all goes right he can get moved here then....God willing. We really want a spring wedding next year to beat the Southern summer heat! Good luck to us all!!
-
I am soooo jealous of that person! I am a June filer myself and am already going crazy waiting....I know I have a LONG way to go, but at least there is hope! I really want a spring wedding next year. Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!

Where do we find the "based on timeline data your case will be adjudicated bewteen...." information?
You can click "timeline" under your picture/avatar on this very page. That will take you to that info.
It is pretty cool! Hopefully we will all have our foreign fiancees here with us forever!

We sent ours off on June 2...and yes I think we all have a patience problem. Just wish they would cash our check. We really want to get married next spring so let's pray for rapid processing. Good luck to us all!!!

Didn't see a forum for this topic yet. We sent our package off June 2 and now the waiting begins....OMG what a process! Good luck to us all!!!!
-
What is the waiting period in your state? I am filing at the end of the month and my divorce was final 1-29-09 but the waiting period here is 90 days....do you think I will have a problem?
Thanks,

I would chose 2 songs:
1. "You Are So Beautiful To Me" By Joe Cocker
2. "Have I Told You Lately That I Love YOU" by Rod Stewert
I am so happy and love her so much!!
"Here I Am" by Leona Lewis is our song
This is a crazy world
These can be lonely times
It's hard to know who's on your side
Most of the time
Who can you really trust
Who do you really know
Is there anybody out there
Who can make you feel less alone
Some times you just can't make it on your own
If you need a place where you can run
If you need a shoulder to cry on
I'll always be your friend
When you need some shelter from the rain
When you need a healer for your pain
I will be there time and time again
When you need someone to love you
Here I am, hmmm
If you have broken dreams
Just lay them all on me
I'll be the one who understands
So take my hand
If you reach emptyness
You know I'll do my best
To fill you up with all the love
That I can show someone
I promise you you'll never walk alone
Well if you need a place where you can run
If you need a shoulder to cry on
I'll always be your friend
When you need some shelter from the rain
When you need a healer for your pain
I will be there time and time again
When you need someone to love you
Here I am, oooo
Everybody needs somebody who
keep a heart and soul in two
Well if you need a place where you can run
If you need a shoulder to cry on
I'll always be your friend
When you need some shelter from the rain
When you need a healer for your pain
I will be there time and time again
When you need someone to love you
Here I am, Here I am

Sometimes I know what I'm having for dinner, sometimes I have to wrack my brain. Tonight I know we are having lamb shank with garlic mashed potatoes and peas. What's everyone else having?
I am having Teriyaki chicken, rice, and green beans! Yummy!

Hehe.... I always like to say this.... "Expect always the worse. Then if something different happens it will always be something better".
PEACE..........
Hi there! I am new to VJ and I can sympathize with what you are going through. We are filing for K-1 in May when my fiance returns for another visit. He has only beeen gone 3 1/2 weeks and it feels like 6 months! He is coming back on May 22...33 days from now. It feels like an eternity. I want to get this process started, but he needs to get his new I-94 number when he re-enters the US from England and bring all the stuff we need to copy to submit the paperwork. I am going to the UK in August and hopefully by next spring we can be married. You guys here on VJ are great for information and support! And yes Skype is fantastic! it is not the same as being there in person, but it will have to do until we can be together forever. Plus we can print a call log off to prove an ongoing relationship. Yahoo Messenger doesn't do that and we kept getting booted from there anyway. We met in Yahoo chat so we still have a soft spot for Yahoo, but Skype is so much better. If we all band together and be strong we can all get through this. Thanks to everyone for all the great help and support! Hang in there everyone!

Without knowing exactly what is written on his Police certificate it's impossible to even guess.
And there's no need to wait for Packet 3 to apply for it, he can do it now because it's good for a year. The sooner he gets it the sooner he'll know what he's dealing with.
I think we will apply for it when we get our NOA 2. We are sending in our original submission packet next month when he comes back to visit. I would hate for him to get it and then be one of those couples that has to wait for over a year for everything to get processed and then have to get a new one. Thanks for the quick reply English Muffin!
Sincerely,
Bella

Wow, i am sorry to hear about his situation and i wish you guys the best i the future. I really dont know, but i dont think it is reason for denial. It is not something like HIV or AIDS or anything like that that he can pass to you and cause others harm. The medical as far as i understand it is to make sure tha the doesnt have tuberculosis, any sexual diseases like AIDS or HIV or syphalyis or anything like that. If he passes those tests, he should be fine.
Thanks for the quick reply GueraKristina! He got the CP from a bad batch of vaccines in the UK when he was 5 but has done so much with his life! I am proud to be with him. I feel like he makes me a better person by just loving me.

My fiancee will be doing his medical in London whenever we get all the other paperwork through the proper channels. He has Cerebral Palsy (a mild case) is a productive member of society in England...works, votes, works out, etc. Do you think this will be a problem in regards to his medical when it comes time for it?
Thanks,
Bella

My fiancee will be applying for a police certificate once we get appropriate package from the consulate in London. He has been arrested but charges were dropped since the charge was not valid. (his ex had him arrested for assault but witnesses and evidence proved the arrest was bogus) Do you think we are going to have a problem getting approved for his K-1 visa?
Thanks,
Bella

I have a strange question that I am sure has been asked many times before. My fiancee is coming for a visit in May after coming for 3 weeks in March. We are going to get all of our documents together for our K-1 package and mail it off. My question is this...does he have to fill out the Dept of Homeland Security form online again?
Thanks to everyone for their input! Because of the wonderful reaources I have found on this site we are going to undertake this process ourselves. Keep your fingers crossed for us to have a quick processing time.

Have a question about income. I have heard that the foreign fiancee has to have a large amount in savings to be approved for a fiancee visa. I am financially stable and WAY above the poverty level with tax returns and letter from my employer as proof. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Bella
There is nothing in the rules/laws that state that. Where did you hear about this?
I have a friend that was going to try to go thru the K-1 visa process and went to an immigration attorney. He told her about the large savings amount that the foreign fiancee must have so she is getting married and then applying for the K-3 instead. I was just wanting to know if that was true. I have never heard that. My fiancee does not have the $10,000 pounds in the bank that she mentioned. I don't want to get denied because he does not have that kind of money in the bank. He lives in England and we are anxious to start the visa journey but don't want to get held up because of that. Any help anyone can give us would be great. This forum has been a great help to us.
