Silly question, where is the London Embassy for interviewing? I am the USC and I forgot to ask Paul what it says on the interview letter of where we go for the interview. I just wanted to look up on the map.
US Embassy in London on Grovensnor Street. It is not too far from where their medicals were.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays June Filers!!!
Merry Christmas everyone! The best late Christmas present ever would be Mark getting his visa on Tuesday!!!!
-
Hi June Filers! I sure hope everyone is getting all their results and final stages of their Visa's. Quick update on John and I. (Aya your nearly there! Woo hoo) Congrads Scott as well! All others Congrads on getting this far!
On November 25th John was approved, pending his original BC and PC.. he sent those to the Embassy courier 2 days later. On Friday 12-4, John received the visa and mysterious brown packet. He booked his Flight and is due to Arrive Tuesday 12-15-09. POE is Newark NJ and he has a 2.5 hour layover to allow for customs and whatnot. After his arrival (1 week later) we will do the Social Security card, finalize the wedding plans and around 1-5-10 go get the marriage license. We are getting married on 1-23-2010.
After Married that following Monday, I am assured the officient will mail off any requiered forms to prepare for his AOS and EAD.
All my support and appreciation goes to each and everyone of you who have assisted both of us to make this possible. Your unrelenting pursuit for love and freedom are what makes this Country so wonderful. As each and every one of our loved ones become US Citizens, let me say Thank You personally and welcome you with open arms.
God Bless and God Speed on your lives together.
Forever,
Wendy_n_John
Wendy,
You can apply for a social security card before you get married??? Would love to know the details of that.

Sundrop,
Can you put Mark's interview on Dec 29th on the list?
Thanks, Kim

Does anyone know about how long a UK drivers license is good for in Alabama? And can I add my fiance to my car insurance with his UK DL?
Thanks,
Kim
Hi Kim
I think it depends a great deal with which company you have your policy.
We have coverage arranged in Florida with Progressive Insurance using our UK Licences for 12 months.
However I have been offered a cheaper policy with Geiko who will insurance us assuming that we get our FL licences within one month.
I think each company has its own rules.
When my daughter joined her husband in Florida she was able to drive on her UK licence straight away on his policy.
Thanks Richard! I have insurance with Progressive and will contact them when Mark gets here in Jan. How long is hi UK drivers license good for?
Kim
Best wishes
Richard

John's review is posted on the UK review section.. thanks all for your support!!
Has Anyone had the interview.. and forgot orignals... but have since sent the docs and now received their visa? How long did it take to get it?
Congrats you guys! Mark's medical went off without a hitch...passed pending lab blood test results!! His interview is Dec 29th. We were gonna move it up, but I wanted him to spend the holidays with his family this year since I have to work them all anyway. I will be going over to get him Jan 19th!! Let's hope it all goes smoothly at the embassy!

Hi everyone! I am hoping someone in this forum can tell me if I hace to send the original NOA2 with my fiance to his interview in London.
Thanks a bunch!
Kimberly

Scott, that is great to hear! Hope Thuy gets better soon!
Wendy, the consulate got Mark's package today thru Royal Mail! Yeah! Now we hope his interview is not scheduled for when he is here or he is gonna have to reschedule. Can't wait to see him again on Nov 11!!!
Let's all hope to get our future spouses over here by Jan!!!
Kim
-
Congrats Scott! Glad to hear you are almost out of AP!!
Wendy, Mark is sending his stuff to the consulate today. How long did John's police certificate take to get to him? Mark is sending his stuff off without actually having it in him hands. We are hoping his inerview does not get scheduled between Nov 11 ans 23rd since he will be here in the US with me. We are hoping to get him here by Jan 19th! I am planning to fly over and get him around the 13th or so. Glad this part of the journey is almost over!
Congrats to everyone that is almost done with this leg of the journey!

Just got off the phone with my Congressional liason and he said they told him the exact same thing they have been telling me for weeks... word for word... they just did it in writing. They said I am in AP and there is no timeframe for this. He said it is usually an FBI background check and that it takes as long as it takes and there is nothing absolutly nothing that can be done to speed it up... And after it gets through there is no way to expedite to make up any lost time from waiting...
He said he has seen them take more than a year to get done when in AP and lately it is only a month or so... 3 weks today.. I expect another week or so... then 2 months more for the interview..
I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers Scott. I hope you get out of AP soon! Hang in there sweetie!

Good Mornin Fellow VJ'rs!!
I felt like spending $16 this mornin and called US Embassy in London for an update. I'm glad I DID!! The embassy received our application from NVC on 10-6-09. The instructions to John were sent on 10-7-09, so he should have them any day now. I was a little disheartened when he said the interview may take 6 months to schedule
but My hopes will remain high until we see that interview date!!
Good Luck to all still waiting for their next step
.
6 MONTHS!!!! You have got to be kidding me! Let's hope it is not tha long! Average at that consulate is about 60 days or that is what I read. Our wedding is scheduled in less than 6 months! OMG....was hoping to have him over here by January! Let's keep our fingers crossed Wendy. Mark got his letter with the instructions for packet 3 by snail mail. Hope John gets his soon!

Hello!
I think tracking the package via DHL is so frustrating since it involves a lot of guessing and estimation. Maybe you would want to try calling the Department of State instead to ask if the embassy has received your package. Call (202) 6631225 press 1 then 0. It worked for me and my fiance. The only sad part is that DOS told my fiance that we're already eligible to schedule an interview appointment but US embassy said we're not yet eligible.
Goodluck to all of us!!!
Yep I got that too boo.. its wait and wait at this stage..... if the papers flow according to plan, John should get his packet by 10-14, with an interview schedule before 11-10 hopefully :-s.. He goes for his medical tomorrow yay!!!! GL to everyone!!
Mark got his packet 3 today! YEAH!!! One step closer! Wendy, I will keep my fingers crossed that John will get his soon!
-
I called the Embassy in UK on Wed, 9-30-09, they told me John should look to receive his packet within 3 weeks. So if He doesnt have it by 10-14, to call back then. *watches the calander*.. Medical is on Wed 10-7 woo hoo!!
That should mean that Mark should have his packet by that time also. I will have to call them by that date also if he doesn't get it. Thanks for calling the embassy to get the timeframe Wendy. Mark will be making his medical appt soon I think.
-
Wendy,
Let me know if you hear anything from the consulate. Mark is heading here Nov 11-21 and we just know that is when his interview will get scheduled for. He will have to reschedule if that is the case since the plane ticket is non refundable. We are hoping to get him here around mid Jan for good. That way he can spend the holidays with his family this year. We have set the date for our wedding...March 6, 2010. Picked up my dress yesterday. Don't want to order invitations until he has the visa in his hand! LOL! Why tempt the fates! Good luck to us all and our significant others on their interviews.

Scott,
I called the NVC today and they forwarded our case to the London consulate yesterday! No AP at the NVC level. I tracked it using the DHL help I found on here and it is somewhere in England at the moment. We are so excited that we are out of the NVC and on to the next stage of the journey. Hang in there...they will have a record of your case soon!
Kim
They got my case on Wed. but it was not in the automated system and it may leave for the consulate as early as today if I am lucky... I will know when I call tonight if it left today... I am actually going to be able to know within a couple of days when the interview will be as I have a way to shave a few weeks off of our process at the VN consulate.
Approx 60 days after I send them the email next week, we will get an interview. I had already scheduled a trip to be there in late Nov when we were expecting an Oct / Nov NOA2 date. Too cool, I am already scheduled to be in the country when she will have her interview. This will save me a bunch of $
Can you believe an Aug filer got approved in 31 days? And given the 5 month posted processing times I thought we were lucky!
I know right! 31 days...I couldn't believe it! Hope your journey through the consulate phase is speedy and painless. We have to keep each other posted on the process.

Glad you had a good time in England Victoria. I loved my 2 1/2 weeks there in August. We got our NOA2 last week and are getting ready for the NVC/consulate phase. We are planning a March 6 wedding. Mark is planning on spending Christmas in England this year before heading across the pond for his new life in America. It will be hard for us to get to spend anytime actually at Christmas in England since I am a nurse and getting any significant time off around that time of year is almost impossible. So, he is planning to stay in England until after the New Year. I so did not want to come home when it was time to come back. England is a lovely country. I agree about the bacon and the curry. I am going to have to learn to make a decent curry so he won't get too homesick here in Alabama. Mark HATES marmite so no worries there...LOL!

Just checked our status and we've been APPROVED today!!!
Still can't believe it as I was expecting no movement as usual. Gosh, NOW I feel nervous!
Hopefully, for those that are still waiting it won't be too much longer...........
Congrats! How was your trip across the pond?
Scott,
I called the NVC today and they have gotten our case and gave me our new NVC case number. They told me that the cases are usually forwarded to the consulates within 2-4 weeks. They verified mine and Mark's e-mail addresses and told me that when the case is forwarded to the consulate, we would be notified by e-mail. I wish you a speedy trip through the NVC.
